Waltzingmouse Stamps March Blog Party

Hello and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today is the monthly blog party at Waltzingmouse Stamps. This month's theme is LUCK, so perfect for today's holiday. Here is the card that I created for the event.

I used the vintage shamrock girl digital image available in the freebie section of the WMS store and combined it with a sentiment from Compact Sentiments Part 2.

Of course I made sure to add lots of green!

Short and sweet for me today, I won't keep you! Be sure to head over to the WMS Blog to find out the party details and link up your creation!

WMS March Release Blog Waltz

Hello there and happy Friday!

Welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps March Release Blog Waltz. Today, the three new Waltzingmouse stamp sets we've been previewing for the past few days will be available for purchase in the Waltzingmouse Stamps store.

You should have arrived here from the incredibly talented and super sweet Sarah Martina's blog. The waltz starts over on Claire's blog, so be sure to head there if you're just popping in.

As usual, Blog Waltz prizes are up for grabs! One winner will be randomly chosen from the comments left on one of the Design Team blogs, so let us know what you think of the new release! You have until 6:59 AM EST on Monday, March 11th to leave your comments. The winner will be announced on the WMS Blog on the 13th.

I have two more cards to share with you today. The first is a simple one, using some of the floral images from Folk Art Medallions.

The flowers are built from a few different images, stamped in shades of coral. I fussy cut them as well as a few leaves. I wanted to keep the rest simple, so I layered the flowers onto a strip of cream cardstock stamped with the sentiment and then a gray embossed panel. I love gray, and I particularly love it combined with coral.

My second card today again uses some of the same images as the navy card I shared yesterday. I adore the gorgeous medallion in the set, but this tile pattern is really what does it for me. It is just so fabulous, I have only scratched the surface of possibilities. Here is a fun springy version for you today:

Instead of using all the different fillers for this square frame, I put some chicks (from A Good Egg) in there! It is cute and pastel and very spring :) I could think of a million other little doodads from other WMS sets that would look fabulous in this pattern, too. I love that!

So that is all for me today - you still have a little waltzing to do - so I won't keep you any longer. Next stop on the waltz is Chupa, who will no doubt have created something awesome! I have only peeked at the rest of the DT blogs over the past few days and I am SO looking forward to the weekend, curled up on the couch with my laptop checking out what everyone else has made!

Thank you so much for your visits and kind words over the past few days. It means so much to me that you stop by and share your thoughts. Take care!

Waltzingmouse All Time Favorite Blog Waltz

Howdy,

I'm so glad you've stopped by, today the Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team is having a very special blog waltz to celebrate the merge of the Mischief Makers with the Design Team. We're now one (very) big, happy family and we thought we'd celebrate by sharing lots and lots of inspiration.

If you're waltzing along with us, you should have arrived here from Clare's blog. Sarah will be your next stop along the way.

We were asked to use our all-time favorite Waltzingmouse Stamps set for this waltz. Well, asking me to pick one favorite WMS set would be like asking me to pick one favorite flavor of ice cream. Or nail polish color. I just can't do it. I love so many, it really depends on the day!

I finally decided that I wanted to use the French Country set - today, its my favorite :)

I built this card around the patterned paper. I thought it looked a little Frenchy and a little Country, so I used it as my starting point. :) Metallics are really hot right now, so I added some gold embossing to the design. Good stuff - adds instant elegance.

There is a ginormous list of gals participating in today's waltz, so I won't keep you any longer. The list of players are below - everyone in red is a new DT member, so it would be fab if you could stop by, say hello and wish them well. We are gearing up for a new release next week, so be sure to add it to your calendar and stop back.

Anya Schrier - you are here!

Sarah is your next stop - she has put together something stunning, so don't miss it! Thank you for the visit, have a great day!

Waltzingmouse Stamps February Blog Party

Hello!

Today is the monthly blog party at Waltzingmouse Stamps. This month's theme is doilies. Doilies are still showing up everywhere, which is great since I love to use them. For this month's party, I pulled inspiration from one of the first photos that I pinned on Pinterest.

Combined with that inspiration, I used the Dainty Doilies Large and Dainty Doilies 2, Small sets to create this card.

This card is really tall (8.5") but needed to be large enough to accommodate the design. It is always fun to make cards that vary from the normal size now and again.

The doilies were stamped onto Kraft cardstock in white ink and heat embossed with white detail powder. I die cut them all with the Big Scalloped Circles Lrg set from Spellbinders. I inked the edges of the doilies and then adhered them with a combination of double sided and foam dimensional adhesive. I opted to skip the sentiment - I really couldn't decide on a good place to put it, plus it lets the doilies take center stage.

I won't keep you any longer, I know that there are going to be a ton of fabulous creations in the party that you'll want to check out. So head over to the WMS Blog, be inspired, and get your doily on!

Waltzingmouse Stamps January Blog Party

Hello, hello!

Today is the monthly blog party at Waltzingmouse Stamps. This month's theme is LOVE. Love!

Before I show you my card, I want to make sure you head over to the Moxie Fab World Blog today, as Cath's Moxie Fab Stamp of Approval this week is Waltzingmouse Stamps!

She is highlighting some beauties: My Heart, Appleblossom Seeds, Woodenheart Alphabet, My Island, and Woodgrain. I used a few of these sets on my card for today, but you can always find more inspiration in the WMS Gallery.

Right now I am in a square card mode, loving the color red, and feel the need to put a doily on everything.

All the stamps that I used are from the My Heart and Woodgrain sets. Both of these sets have a US shipping option, too. Just sayin'.

Ok! I won't keep you, because I know that there are going to be a ton of fabulous lovey-dovey creations in the party that you'll want to check out. So head over to the WMS Blog, be inspired, and share some love!

WMS November Blog Party

Good morning!

Just a few hours left in this month's Waltzingmouse Blog Party. I'm just under the wire as usual!

This month's theme is gratitude, and it is always good to take stock of what we're thankful for regardless of the time of year. I am sure we all have a long list.

I have always been fond of this sentiment from Jar Fillers - Jam Packed and thought it would work well for this month's theme.

After stamping the jar lid and then the jar, I stamped the 'filling' using the Cabin Plaid Backgrounder. A great way to incorporate my new favorite stamp into the mix. I wanted my thank you jar to stand out, so I stamped the rest of the jars in black and left them plain. I used lots of foam dimension tape to pop up my jar, too.

If you'd like to join us for this month's Blog Party, create a project with the theme of gratitude and head over to the Waltzingmouse Blog and link it up. You have until 1:30 pm EST today before the links are closed, but there is still time to join us!

Have a great day!

WMS September Blog Party

Happy Monday, friends. Today is the Waltzingmouse Stamps September Blog Party. The theme for this month's party is fall, which happens to be my favorite season. Lynn prompted us to consider creations that include not only the colors and imagery but also the textures of fall.

Here is the card that I created, also tapping into some inspiration from this week's Sketch Challenge.

I started by die cutting the leaves (this is a Sizzix die, Leaves #2) then I stamped each of them with the houndstooth pattern from Heirloom Patterns. Houndstooth is definitely a fall-related pattern for me. I used a seasonal inspired color palette, rich yellows and browns.

As I was deciding how I wanted to lay out my leaves on my card, I saw the cardstock sitting there that I had cut the dies from and thought it was the perfect design. I took the cardstock and trimmed it to fit a card front, then stitched along the top and bottom edges. I inked the edges and gave it a quick misting before adhering it my card front.

I adhered the leaves using dimensional foam tape, replacing them back in the spots they were die cut from. Then I added a sentiment from Peace and Plenty, a set full of fantastic fall motifs.

If you'd like to join us for this month's Blog Party, create a fall-themed project and head over to the Waltzingmouse Blog and link it up. You have until 1:30 pm EST tomorrow before the links are closed.

Have a great day!

WMS August Release Blog Waltz

Hi there! Today is release day for Waltzingmouse Stamps. Nine new sets are being released this month, and they are all available for purchase now in the Waltzingmouse Stamps store!

You should have arrived here from Laurie's blog. Claire's blog is the start of the waltz, so head back to her if you're just popping in, she has a list of all the Design Team members participating. Tosh will be your next stop after this one.

As usual, Blog Waltz prizes are up for grabs! One winner will be randomly chosen from the comments left on one of the Design Team blogs, so let us know what you think of the new release! You have until 6:59 AM EST on Sunday, August 26th to leave your comments. Winners will be announced on the WMS Blog on the 28th.

Today I am sharing some additional projects using the Vintage Garden Series as well as Bright Season.

First off is a home decor project featuring the images from Vintage Garden Produce.

I started by stamping the seed packet frame from the Vintage Seed Packet set four times. Then I filled the frame in with the fruit/vegetable images from Vintage Garden Produce (the pumpkin is from the Seed Packet set). After I had everything all stamped, I pulled out a bunch of different ink colors and watercolored the images.

I adhered the seed packets to a a piece of patterned paper cut to fit the frame (12 x 5). I used just a little bit of adhesive in the center of the seed packets and left the edges curled and warped (from the watercoloring). It gives it such a fun aged look!

A great decor project for a kitchen!

My second project today is a little notebook. I have a friend who keeps a Prayer List, and the last time her and I got together, she was scribbling on a bunch of different post-it notes. I thought something she could tuck in her purse and keep everything together might help her out.

I started by stamping the large lantern from Bright Season on to white cardstock with Silver pigment ink. Then I filled in with the candle and flame. The sentiment, from Light of the World Sentiments was stamped right on top in black ink.

I used my Bind-it-All to create a little notebook, filling it with blank 3x5 index cards. I was glad to pop this in the mail right away, and hopefully she finds it useful!

That is it for me today! Thank you all for your wonderful comments on the release projects. I actually just returned home from vacation, so I really had to kick it into high gear to get everything done and posted ahead of time. I'm glad you enjoyed them! Tosh is your next stop! Enjoy the rest of the waltz!

Sweet Birthday Wishes

Hello there! Today is the Waltzingmouse Stamps August Blog Party. The theme for this month's party is birthdays. I love birthdays! I'm all for a day of celebration (and cake!).

I took the opportunity to create a birthday card for a dear friend, and am quite excited to have the chance to hand-deliver it (which makes up for the fact that its late, right?).

I stamped the background with the herringbone stamp from Little Box Labels. I stamped it on a diagonal, just to mix things up a bit.

The sentiment is a combination of words from Compact Sentiments and Compact Family. I love that it says just a bit more than Happy Birthday - a card for one of my best friends should be a little less formal, after all. :)

I layered the cake and stand from Eat Cake onto the sentiment panel. The flower centers were glittered with Lavender Stickles, keeping with my purple palette.

So excited to be able to give this to her in person!

If you'd like to join us for this month's Blog Party, create a birthday-themed project and head over to the Waltzingmouse Blog and link it up. You have until 1:30 pm EST tomorrow before the links are closed.

And real quick, before I jet off - my little contest will be open for another day or so.  Go check it out, you could win some Distress Inks! :)

Have a super day!

Waltzingmouse & Pouch Mart Blog Waltz

Hello there!

Today I am excited to be participating in a special blog waltz. Several of the Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team members are using Waltzingmouse stamps to embellish bags from Pouch Mart - a web store that sells all shapes, colors and sizes of bags. The folks over at Pouch Mart generously sent us some bags to work with and they are also offering a $25 Pouch Mart gift certificate for one lucky commenter. See all the prize details at the bottom of my post.

I have two projects to share with you today. The first is using the Eco-Friendly Mini Tote Bag. These are great, light weight bags - they are the same material as many of the reusable shopping bags available now in most grocery stores.

I started by die cutting a mask from cardstock using a Labels 18 die. Then I stamped the harlequin pattern from Heirloom Patterns in black ink over the mask. Before removing it, I used a marker to trace around the opening to give some definition to the shape. I added a rolled paper rose and a little tag to the edge of the label.

I tucked a little candle inside my bag, embellished with a band stamped with the harlequin pattern and wrapped in tissue stamped with one of the floral images from French Country.

My second project was made using a Natural Burlap Bag. I love how this turned out - it is my favorite.

I created a label for the front of the bag using the My Island set. I pierced a row of holes up either side and used some linen twine to stitch it to the bag front. Isn't it fun?

I filled the burlap bag with a cello bag full of dried tropical fruit. Bill loves this stuff.  I think this would be a super fun little party favor or gift for someone.

So that is what I have to share today! Below is a list of the other WMS designers participating. Be sure to leave a comment at each blog - one lucky commenter will win a $25.00 gift certificate to Pouch Mart and another lucky commenter will win a Waltzingmouse Stamp set! You have until Sunday July 29th 11:59 pm EST to leave your comments! Winners will be announced on Julia's blog on Monday July 30th.

Here are the links!

Be sure to stop by the Pouch Mart store and browse their amazing selection of packaging, too!

Have a great day!

Summer Starts Here

Howdy!

Welcome to July's Blog Party with Waltzingmouse Stamps. This month's theme is the great outdoors. I love spending time outside and am lucky to have the chance to do a lot of outside work with my job (except when its 95 degrees and I start to show the symptoms of dehydration - oops!) but my favorite outside time is spent at the ocean.

The lovely palm tree image is from the My Island set. I stamped the distressed rectangle image twice sideways to create a resting place for my palm trees. I added some coordinating patterned paper to my card, using a - wait for it - paper crimper on the vertical piece. I had to dust it off first, but I think I'll be using it again. Do you have one buried in your stash, too?  I added some acrylic paint to my crimps to tone the color down a bit and fit in with the wonderful weathered look to these images.

If you would like to play along with our Blog Party this month, you have until 1:30 pm EST tomorrow (July 18th) to link up your project. We'd love to see you!

WMS July Release Blog Waltz

Hi there! Today is release day for Waltzingmouse Stamps. Four new sets are being released this month, and they are all available for purchase now in the Waltzingmouse web store!

Today we are sharing samples from a new set I designed called Playful Pinwheels - my most recent addition to Green Room Designs!

You have until the end of the day Wednesday, July 4 to leave your comments. Winners will be announced on the WMS Blog on the 6th.

Ok, now that those details are out of the way - let me introduce you to Playful Pinwheels!

Playful Pinwheels is the perfect summertime set, it contains a large pinwheel outlines and lots of fillers so you can color it however you like. In the above card, I used just the solid fillers to color my pinwheels. I included separate images for the topside and underside of the pinwheel so you really can customize it to your little heart's desire!

I combined these pinwheels (cut with the coordinating cut file) with the jar image from Candy Jar Christmas Fillers. Don't you just love the colors? It is just so HAPPY!

This next card, which is just perfect for the 4th of July, combines some of the patterned fillers. AND - it spins! I'll show you how I did it later this week.

And the sentiments are so fun, they will carry you far past summertime, I promise!

There is also a selection of small pinwheels in the set - one is a line image for your coloring pleasure, and the others are all 'pre-made' patterned pinwheels. For this card, I used the small solid design to create some patterned paper. I wanted to give something neutral a shot, so I stamped the image onto Kraft cardstock in white ink.

This card features the small patterned pinwheels - I created this card for this week's Play Date Cafe Color Challenge.  As mentioned before, there are electronic cut files for both the large and small pinwheel (with sticks or without :), but I just good old-fashioned fussy cut these babies.  Easy peasy, so don't fret if you don't have an electronic cutter!

SO what do you think? I can't wait to hear your thoughts - this set is so much fun to play with, just love to create so many different colors and styles of pinwheels. I, for one, can't wait to see what the rest of the DT has come up with!

Tosh is your next stop! Enjoy the rest of the waltz! The rest of the details and supply list are forthcoming!

Happy Trails

Hi there! Today is the 17th, and that means it is the Waltzingmouse Blog Party! This month we have a fantastic inspiration photo to work with chosen by my sweet friend Lynn.

Not one to pass up the opportunity for a color challenge, I took inspiration from the colors in the photo. Here is the card that I made.

When I do a color challenge, I like to pull all the colors together - whether it is ink or cardstock - and lay them all out in front of me and see what happens. This time, I saw a western sunset. Way Out West is seriously one of my all-time favorites.

I'm heading out this afternoon to celebrate Father's Day with my in-laws, and then I'll be heading to my parents' house for dinner. I am looking forward to the family time - I hope you have a great afternoon too!

If you would like to play along with our Blog Party this month, you have until 1:30 pm EST tomorrow (June 18th) to link your creation up here. Join us!
