For months part-angel Clara Gardner trained to face the raging forest fire from her visions and rescue the alluring and mysterious Christian Prescott from the blaze. But nothing could prepare her for the fateful decisions she would be forced to make that day, or the startling revelation that her purpose—the task she was put on earth to accomplish—is not as straightforward as she thought. Now, torn between her increasingly complicated feelings for Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker, Clara struggles to make sense of what she was supposed to do the day of the fire. And, as she is drawn further into the world of part angels and the growing conflict between White Wings and Black Wings, Clara learns of the terrifying new reality that she must face: Someone close to her will die in a matter of months. Title: Smoulder
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Childrens Books
Publication Date: 5 Jan 2012

Synopsis from Goodreads

Being the youngest daughter of the Devil has never been easy. Daphne's father has no time for her, her mother no interest, and her status in the upper echelon separates her from the working-class demons that populate Lucifer's metropolis. When her brother and only confidante goes missing, life in the restrictive city of Pandemonium becomes intolerable. Now, in an attempt to find him, Daphne sets out for Earth - and finds it larger and more chaotic than she imagined: a dazzling expanse of noise, dirt and random violence. Despite her bewilderment, she navigates the mortal world with growing fascination, gaining an ally when she saves a dying boy from her father's minions.
For Truman Flynn, the last year has been one long downward spiral, but when Daphne arrives just in time to save his life, he finds himself unexpectedly glad to have another chance. Together, Daphne and Truman go in search of her brother, braving the hazards of Las Vegas and the perils of first love, even as it becomes increasingly clear that her brother might have had a secret and compelling reason for leaving. Lucifer's agents aren't the only creatures on the prowl, and Daphne soon finds herself the target of a plan to rid the world of demons for good. Now she must evade a demon-eating monster, rescue her brother from an angelic zealot, and save the boy she loves from his greatest enemy - himself.

For Review:

(omg I swooned when I opened this one - how fabulous an apprentice Victor Frankenstein - loved Mary Shelly's Frankenstein so really looking forward to this one)

Huge huge huge thank you to Elle at The Book Memoirs for sending me books on Children's Literature that she used on her OU course. They even have fab notes in - I am hoping it will help me further in the library and Elle is just wonderful on children's literature.

I have a few more but haven't had time to add them to the post so I shall add them next week.

Things have been veery busy in school, I am sure once I get all the book recommendations out of the way it will ease off a bit.

I had each class write 5 or more random facts about themselves but one of those facts had to be about either books, movies, tv programmes, games or music. From these random facts I am attempting to give them personalised book recommendations, but as they are personalised they are taking me ages to do. A few classes have had them already and the satisfaction of seeing the pupil enjoying the book I picked out for them is just priceless *beams*

Also things at home are rough to say the least and the desktop pc gave up the ghost last week. We have had problems with it since purchase - it has had 3 new motherboards, therefore I am searching for a new PC but I think I shall hold off getting the shiny until the girls and I move. With the current situation I think the sooner we go the better so I shall be busy packing etc too. I hope you miss me as much as I miss you. Thank goodness I have some awesome guest reviews to give me room to breath. You guys ROCK

Big Hugs
