Jesienią zawsze nachodzi mnie ochota na zabawy z włóczką.

Angry bird

My three-year-old nephew is the biggest fan of Angry Birds ever. This is something not many of you know. But it is not a secret to you, that lately I was in a knitting mood. Because 1+1=2, I decided to knit an Angry Bird hat for him. Of course it had to be Red, it’s his greatest hero!

Unfortunately, my nephew lives 1250 km away so I can not easily take a photo of him wearing this hat. Wojtek is four years older and his head is too big; he is a handsome guy but not a good model for this hat. I tried a doll, a teddy bear and a balloon. The latest, was the best model, I guess. Anyway, I am very pleased with the way it turned out. I hope Bruno will also like it.

Mój trzyletni siostrzeniec jest największym fanem Angry Birdsów pod słońcem. Wie o tym niewiele osób czytających tego bloga. Natomiast wszyscy wiedzą, że ostatnio jestem w nastroju do dziergania. Jako, że 1+1=2 postanowiłam udziergać mu czapkę w kształcie Angry Birdsa. Musiał to być koniecznie Red, jego największy idol.

Niestety, Bruno mieszka daleko ode mnie i nie mogę mu zrobić zdjęcia w tej czapce. Wojtek jest cztery lata starszy i jego głowa jest nieco za duża; mimo, że to bardzo przystojny chłopak to nie był najlepszym modelem. Probowałam wykrzystać jako model lalkę, misia i balon. Ten ostatni chyba najlepiej się sprawdził. Podoba się? Mam nadzieję, że małemu też sie spodoba.

Arm knitted pled/Pled dziergany na rękach

After making this scarf, Jagna and I decided to arm knit a plaid. We bought eight skeins of yarn and waited for the right moment to start the work. The moment came when Jagna was not at home… Then, within 45 minutes the plaid was made.

BTW, do you also have such beautiful autumn? It is quite chilly over here but it is still very nice.

Po sukcesie tego szala postanowiłyśmy zrobić z Jagną pled. Kupiłyśmy osiem motków włóczki i czekałyśmy na odpowieni moment. Ten moment nadszedł gdy Jagny nie było w domu… Wtedy to w 45 minut powstał pled.

P.S. Czy u Was też jest wciąż taka piękna jeśień? Tutaj jest dosyć chłodno ale wiąż bardzo pięknie.

Infinity scarf/Komin

Few days of the last week I spent on knitting infinity scarf. It was a b-day gift for a friend of us. The majority is done with the moss stich and the part where buttons are is knitted with the star stich. Pretty simple. It looks as it is not really an infinity scarf but it is. I like it.

Sometimes I wonder what brings me more joy, making stuff or taking photos of the ready product. Probably both as much. Do you feel the same?

Parę dni ostatniego tygodnia spedziłam dziergając coś w rodzaju komina. Zrobiłam go na prezent urodzinowy. Większość jest zrobiona zwykłym ryżem, natomiast część na której naszyte są guziki jest wykonana ściegiem gwiazdkowym. Mimo, że wyląda on na zapinany to wcale taki nie jest. Obydwa ściegi są niezwykle proste. Efekt koncowy bardzo mi się podoba.

Czasem się zastanawiam co mi sprawia większą radość, tworzenie nowych rzeczy czy fotografowanie gotowych produktów? Pewnie obydwa tak samo. Też tak macie?

Arm knitted scarf/Szalik dziergany na rękach

In the weekend I discover that you can knit on your arms. After seeing this tutorial I really wanted to try. It appeared to be very easy and fast technique. So today I went with Jagna to the shop and bought a bulky (hairy – I have honesty no idea how to properly call it) yarn. It took Jagna two attempts to make a scarf. In the first she used double yarn and quickly run out of it. So then she used single strand and within 15 minutes (!!!) her scarf was ready!

This is really wonderful project for kinds. They can easily and quickly make a scarf without getting annoyed that it takes too much time.

W ubiegły weekend odkryłam technikę dziergania na rękach. Po obejrzeniu tego kursiku od razu sama ją wypróbowałam. Jest bardzo prosta i szybka. Dlatego dziś wybrałam się z Jagną do sklepu I kupiłyśmy grubą włochatą (nie wiem jak ją inaczej nazwać) włóczkę. Jagna miała dwa podejścia do szalika. W pierwszym użyła podwójnej nici, przez co bardzo szybko zabrakło jej włóczki. W następnym podejściu użyła już pojedynczej I w dosłownie (!!!) piętnaście minut wydziergała szalik.

Szczerze polecam tą technikę dla dzieci. Jest nie męcząca a przynosi dobre efekty i dziecko bez większych oporów samo może sobie coś zrobić.

Owly hat/ Sowia czapka

Few days ago kids found at C&A funny animal hats. Jagna loves wearing clothes with animals on so she wanted it desperately. I thought I can make similar one myself. And so I did, and she loves it as well.

Kilka dni temu w C&A dzieci znalazły fajne czapeczki-zwierzątka. Jagna uwielbia ubrania ze zwierzętami, więc MUSIAŁA mieć tą czapkę. Pomyślałam sobie, że przecież ja sama mogę jej coś podobnego zrobić, no i zrobiłam. Jagna jest bardzo zadowolona.

Cuddly owls/ Sowy Przytulanki

These two cute cuddly owls were created in just one day. I used quite thick yarn and knitting needles size 7, but if you use somewhat thinner yarn then it may take more time to make them. If you want to know how to make these cuties read further.

I’m very curious which one you find nicer. Personally, I like more  the bigger one, but both my kids think the smaller one is nicer.

Te dwie słodkie sówki przytulanki powstały w ciągu jednego dnia. Zrobiłam je z grubej włóczki i na drutach nr 7; oczywiście jeśli użyje się cieńszej włóczki to dziergania będzie więcej.

Jeśli chcesz się dowiedzieć jak je zrobić to czytaj dalej; jeśli nie chcesz, to nie czytaj ;)

Ciekawa jestem, która Wam się bardziej podoba. Mnie osobiście bardziej ta duża przypadła do gustu, a moim dzieciom zdecydowanie ta mniejsza.

Supplies: yarn, knitting needles (or a knitting loom), felt/fabrics, buttons, embroidery floss, needles, scissors, stuffing.

Potrzebne będą: włóczka, druty (albo krosna do dziergania), filc/materiał, guziki, kordonek, igły, nożyczki, coś do wypychania.

Choose the size you like and knit a cylinder (optionally, make a rectangle of which two edges you stich to make a cylinder).

Wydziergaj komin w wielkości sowy, ewentualnie możesz wydziergać kwadrat a potem zszyć go z jednej strony.

Do not close the top stiches but drag the yarn through them. Then pull the yarn and close the opening on the wrong side. My yarn was so thick that the opening did not close completely after pulling the yarn so I stitched it on the wrong side. This will be the bottom of your owl.

Nie zamykaj oczek, ale przeciągnij przez nie włóczkę, a potem pociągnij ją tak by zamknąć robótkę. Moja włóczka była na tyle gruba, że otwór się nie zamknął, dlatego zaszyłam go od wewnętrznej strony. To będzie dół sowy.

At this stage add the eyes and the beak (you may add wings as well).

Teraz przyszyj oczy i dziób (możesz też doszyć skrzydła).

Now stich the top of your owl with an overcast stich. Remember to stitch dense in order to maximally stretch the top of the owl. Leave a small opening for stuffing. Once the owl is stuffed, close it. Add small tassels on both sides and voila, your owl was born!

Teraz zszyj górę szwem na okrętkę. Pamiętaj by szyć dosyć gęsto by jak najbardziej rozciągnąć dzianinę. Zostaw mały otwór, przez który wypchasz sowę a potem go zaszyj. Dodaj małe frędzelki po bokach. I tak oto Twoja sowa jest gotowa!
