Hay Time!

First wagonload of hay.  And I'm photographing instead of doing my job.

OK now I'm working with one hand and my hook...then I drag the bales with my hook thingy
and after every 20 bales, Gary comes up and stacks them.

That was last night and there are two more wagons waiting in the yard for loading.  I'm trying to get my friend's twin boys over to help but haven't been able to get ahold of her yet.  Meanwhile
I have to process some tomatoes with my Victorio and some peaches. And ride at 4:30.  And I don't think a nap is going to work in today.  sigh.  I love my naps but maybe tomorrow.

View from the hay mow last evening...And Kota is now called
Dakota...which I think suits him better!

Finishing the barn

Building a run-in for the horses so that when I get another horse it will have plenty of space to get out of the bugs and/or cold.  The main aisle is on the left and the new space is on the right.  We haven't opened it up yet but Noah and Gary have been working for days and I had a friend's twin 15yo boys shoveling tons of dirt as well.

All boarded up...

With plenty of room for equipment as well...

Inside the new run-in

We are getting there!  And looked at a horse the other day down by Binghamton, NY.  He was very adorable, sweet, willing, 15 years old and friendly.  So just waiting to hear from his vet.

Hope everyone's long weekend was wonderful!

Barn Update...

So much progress has been made on the barn.  Roof is completed.  Upstairs flooring is being finished as I can afford wood.  Stalls are close to being done.  Leveling out the floors in the stalls so there are no gaps for hooves to get caught.  Leveling out the paddock, also.  All in 90+ degrees.  What great guys I have!!!

Noah putting on siding while Alex plays with Mieux...

Gary and Noah shovelling in the extreme heat!  And putting in fence posts for the paddock.

Inside view...two stalls almost ready...water ready for trough...still have to box in electric and connect...doors ready to be hung on stalls

Dommie's stall...

none too soon...the old barn is way past gone!  Started collapsing this past month...sigh.

Cooler weather today--hope you are all enjoying it!
