The Happiest Place on Earth, For Real!

I have REALLY wanted to take my kids to Disneyland over the last few monthes. My kids love all the Disney characters so I knew they would love it! Ben gave into my impulsivenss and agreed that we could look into it. We had the details in order in no time.

My Mom came with us so it would be a little easier with Rhett. I was so grateful for that, it made the whole trip easier! We had the best time!!

Here are the highlights--

-Westin walked so much, he hardly complained about it!
- Sage loved the princesses, even though she was totally shy around them.
- The Disneyland workers were so nice. One of them just asked us where we were going. When we told her what ride we were going to she took us around to the exit to get right on. For no reason, we didn't have to wait in that line!- Sage rode on every roller coaster she could. No Fear!
- Rhett loved all the characters
- This is the most money we have spent on a vacation and we have yet to regret it!

If I'm Not Over you, By the Time I get to Georgia

Then I guess I'll be, Alabama bound....

This was the only song I could think of that has the state Georgia in it.

I had the Best time in Georgia visiting my sister and her family. I have missed them so much since they left in October! I saved my money and decided to just buy a ticket and get myself there. We were non-stop and the laughing and giggling rarely ceased. Here is a brief run though of our travels...

We went to the best outlet malls there. They had a HUGE pottery barn outlet, Restoration Hardware outlet, and the list goes on. So fun! The kids thought this chair was funny, and they were right.

Rhett was such a trooper on this trip. He really did so good for being trapped in a car seat, then a stroller, then a bed, and then a high chair pretty much the whole time. That is what he gets for having a Mom and an Aunt who live to be on the go. We went to the beach on Tybee Island, the weather was horrible. We stayed for about 4 minutes. Oh, and just in case you thought you could shark fish here, I'm hear to tell you, you can't! Sorry!

On the island there was a working lighthouse that is still in use since the Civil war. It was really cool to see. This was on the grounds there.

We walked to the top of that there lighthouse, holding the baby all along. That is a long ways up, really cool to see from the top.

Silly baby!

This was in Savannah Georgia at one of their squares. Everything there was so beautiful even though is was cold and windy.

We took a trolley tour of the city, right along with all the 80 year olds. I feel like a history buff now, but it was fun to see so much of the city. That place is so proud for all the movies that have been filmed there. Showing the bench that Forrest sat on was the peak of the tour.

There is that cheesy smile again. He was all smiles, such a great travel buddy!

I got my fix for at least the next few months. I was glad that I got to go and that Ben was so great about staying home with the other kids while I was gone. Now, when do I get to see her next??

The Happenings

At the rate I'm going, I will just do a new blog post once a season!!
Everything is great with the Shumways. Ben got a truck a few weeks ago, I'm not sure anything else matters! He has been very patient waiting for just the right opportunity and it finally came. At first it was CRAZY how obsessed he was. Now the reality of filling the gas tank has sunk in and the honeymoon is over.

The holidays were great! Everyone was happy, healthy and now a size or two larger.
Life is CRAZY with three busy kids! Getting drinks, coming up with activities, snacks, meals, and breaking up fights never end!! It's always interesting!

In the mood to blog...

Wait did you hear that?? I haven't felt like blogging for, well, about 2 months now. Since I happen to be on the computer without my pictures on it, then you get the hear me actually write a few thoughts down.

1. If you don't know by now, you must not have talked to me in the last few months because I can't talk about anything else, my sister moved to Georgia on Sunday. She took a piece of my heart with her. Holy Cow, who would have known it would be so hard to have her go. She works full time so we have never been able to spend tons of time together through the week but we defiantly have a close relationship. We have talked to each other on the phone every Friday morning on her way to work for years now. I have watched her kids lots of time and I think of them as my own. I'm really going to miss her! On the other hand, I'm so excited for their new journey and adventure together as a little family. I can't wait to visit them!!

2. Having three small children home all day this school year so far has been hard. I feel like I'm spending most of my day correcting, disciplining, and teaching them the right way to act and behave. We are coming up with some creative things to do to keep us busy. On the flip side, there are some really neat things about having all my babies home with me one last year. We do whatever we want, read, snuggle, do crafts, play, go to the library, and anything else that happens to come to mind. I'm trying really hard to bottle this time up and appreciate it because I know that one day I will miss it!

3. What a fun time of year!! I love everything that comes with it. Weather, holidays, outside activities, going to the park, warm food........... In the last week, we have eaten dinner outside and it has been so nice!! It is so relaxing I could sit out there for hours!!

I can't remember the last time I wrote this much on here, I better quit before I loose you guys.
night-night

Hockey Highlights

Westin was in a little ice hockey class for the month of July. He loved every minute of it. The first week looked like a sea of kids falling flat on their face. After about an hour, the only difference was that they had spread out. There were buckets and small goals to hold onto to help stabilize them. The difference between the first week and the last was amazing!! In the last class they had a scrimmage and Westin even got a goal. One of the funnest parts was that Westin had four cousins and two friends who did it with him. Amid all the bumps and bruises, I think it was a success.
