LAST DAY OF SUMMER!!!!

Well I never get around to posting new blogs. I just never seem to have time, so hopefully now that summer's over I'll have more time. haha yeah right! This summer went by so fast and we did so much fun stuff, it seems like all I did was work and play. Which I'm not complaining about because the summer of 2007 all we did was work and remodel our house. So I'm going through all my pictures and giving the reader's digest version of our summer activities.

JUNE
ZION'S CAMP
I got a calling in the young women's and Brian is in the young men's. There was a combined camp for the young women's and young men's at Camp Manapu somewhere near Sun Valley. I was a little nervous for Zions Camp mainly because it was a combined 5 day co-ed camp out, but it couldn't have gone better. We had so much fun with the youth, they are AMAZING!!!!!! The spirit was so strong and I know all of us were changed for the better. The first picture is of most of Brian's teachers. The second picture I probably need to explain. It is the bishop's horse trailer and yes there are about 50 youth in it!! Whenever we left camp to go hiking or swimming they would all pile in the back like animals and Brian would poke them with sticks. Yeah it probably wasn't the safest thing but we have a great inspired bishop that is laid back. The kids sang hymns the whole way and had a really good time.

JULY
BIKING AT TAMARACK

WE LOVE BIKING!!!!! This has been the best part of the summer. We bought season passes to Tamarack a resort in Donelly, Idaho, so most of our biking this summer has been going up there. You ride the chair lift up, and then get to go down some awesome trails that have wall rides and lots jumps. I don't attempt the wall rides yet, but I'm getting the hang of the jumps and drops. Brian bought me a new bike for Christmas last year. It's Specialized Stumpjumper, it's bright blue with pink stripes and it has been great.

AUGUST
CANOEING THE PAYETTE
We went canoeing down the Payette River a couple times this year. We went the first time at midnight when it was a full moon so you can "see" but you really can't. We survived, we only had one boat tip, Brian's sister Jen and her friend Jordan tipped and floated with the canoe down the river till they caught up to us. I'm sure glad that didn't happen to us, the water was soooo cold. Then we went again during the day with Melinda, Harris, Carson and some of Brian's family. We had lots of fun splashing each other and jumping in. The only thing with jumping in is that it is so hard to get back in the canoe, at least for me.

Brian decided he wanted me to learn how to steer the canoe. It was a lot harder than it looks, but the hardest part was trying to switch spots. For anyone who hasn't been in a canoe they are really easy to tip. I decided I would climb over Brian to get to the other end.......

and my plan worked out perfectly, although everyone else thought we were crazy.

BOONDOCKS WITH JESSICA

For our niece Jessica's birthday present we took her to Boondocks to go miniature golfing. She took this picture of us, I thought it was pretty good for a 7 year old. She was a great golfer, she beat me for sure and she thought it was pretty funny.

HORSES

Brian surprised me last May with HORSES!!! He is so sweet, he knew that all growing up I always wanted horses. Wow I didn't realize how much time, money and work they are. I named the mom Abby and the baby Rusty. Brian found her, she was going to the slaughter house and she had her baby right before so they couldn't kill her, good thing. He blind folded me and took me out to them, Rusty was only 5 days old when we got him, he was so little. It took Abby about 2 weeks before she would even let me touch her, she hadn't really ever been around people, but Rusty was all about the attention. We got both of them halter broke, then we put the saddle on her for the first time. I was so excited so I decided to get on and ride her while Brian lead her around. It didn't really work out the way I would have liked, I got bucked off! OUCH! I found out after she had thorns on her belly strap. I think I got about 3 seconds! ha ha! Well I decided I really don't have the time for horses, so we just sold them. I was a little sad but also relieved they were a ton of work, but I think I learned a lot from them.
