Altered Metal Hanging

I can't believe it has been so long since I last blogged ; I have had the most awful cold I can ever remember having and it laid me low for a week and today is the first time I have felt like getting into my room of craft and boy has it taken me ages to complete this piece but  I was determined to enter the CC Challenge over at Studio L3 hosted by the wonderful Linda, this week is Altered Metal Alchol Inks week #33

The hanging is made from a piece of plastic packaging and I inserted a backing piece into the back which I had stamped onto a distressed background that I had made previously, then I ran two pieces of metal sheet through a texture fades embosing folder and using Alchol Inks willow, caramel, oregano, stonewash I applied these straight to the metal and let them run into the groves I let these dry and then add small drops of a different colour and let them blend, all this was experimental but I am please with how it turned out in the end.

I also coloured a TH metal disk artful with caramel AI (hard to see in photo) attached wire for hanging and made some paper flowers from Stampin' Up! DSP, Bird was cut with TH Die in grundgboard and run through same folder, then painted with sail boat dabber left to dry and then brushed lightly over with Aqua, wing is cut from metal and dabbed with AI.

below is a close up picture where you can just about see the artful disk and  bird detail also.

I will also be linking this with Sunday Stampers theme which is Paris, hope this piece will fit as if you look ever so closely..... yes there behind the little bird .....is the top of the tower and also the word Paris is in the metal...............over to you Hels!!!

I'm off to post this over at studio L3 before I miss the deadline altogether, thanks for looking

Bye for now
