out and about

took the oldest boy to school this morning.. walked back and did a few housewifely chores and then me and the baby went out for lovely walk

the past few days have been simply glorious and it would be a crime to not take advantage of the beautiful autumnal sunshine that we have..

so i donned my comfiest brogues.. put on my new ( well to me anyways .. charity shop number!) favourite floral tea dress




and out we went...

we were out for ages .. about 2 hours, so lovely out there though and apart from one giant tantrum. ( the baby not me!) and that was only because he didn't want to get back in his buggy! we've had a lovely morning.. not rushed it was just a nice leisurely walk..

if you arnt a fan of pics of autumnal trees .. i would look away now as there a few of them coming up!

so back in and I'm just about to eat some homemade soup and some crusty bread...the baby is having a snooze .. think all the fresh air tired him out!..

first off we saw some horses..

this sign made me laugh to myself.. i started imagining robot horses in the field .. ( i am a bit strange though!)

notice the old gate posts here only one is in tact but i often wonder what were they the entrance to as now its just trees beyond them..





i love old stone walls and trees along side them.. i always pretend i live in the country side when i walk up here!!

i just loved the colour of this tree against the blue sky...
one of my favourite roads.. the houses along here are rather large and grand... and gorgeous!!.
a pile of crispy leaves..love the different colours mixed in we have brown, green a bit of orange and purple!
i love the way the sun is shining through the arch of the trees
through a little seated area

and then back home ... glad i wore my comfiest shoes that was a big walk!

hmmmm soup.. i know 3 slices is pretty bad isn't it.. carb overload and all but i had worked up an appetite!!

i do love this time of year.

Vintage Rally

well the sun was shining brightly over us today, we had the kids in our room at silly o'clock and so after having a few cups of coffee to wake ourselves up, a quick read of the paper we got ready and headed to a vintage rally that is in the next town to us..

it was a lovely morning.. the sky was so blue it would have been a waste to be indoors.. chilly though.brrr, in the shade .. can defo feel the winter clothes making an appearance now!!

it was pretty much the same this year as it was last, but i saw this gorgeous little caravan this time around..


it looked so cosy all decked out.. the only trouble is you cant get in and have a little sit in them, just have to look adoringly at them !!

we loved this red car. i don't even know what it was called.. but i could just picture me in it.. headscarf on huge sunglasses and applying my red lipstick in the mirror.!!



although it was our oldest boy who was looking in the mirror this time!..

i loved this little red car it was called a babcock electric, love that basket on the back.

and i had to take a picture of the advert that went with it.. if you had this car you were obviously a " contented woman!!".

loved this old van.. or was it an ambulance.. not to sure but it was pretty all the same with its curves!

anyway we came back for lunch and then i got started on the sanding of the dresser.. only the top of the cupboard part though.. oh my arms are aching now though.. why on earth did people think dark stain was actually nice and so applied gallons of it!!!

here it is at the minute then.. think I'll put a clear varnish over this to protect the wood and to give it a nice sheen!!


hopefully I'll get a bit more done on this over the next few days so I'll have something nice to show you !!!

Im back from outta space!

hi all




well its been a month since i last blogged cant believe it.. i have been keeping up to date with everyone elses lovely blogs but myself ive not had that much to say, i think my blogging mojo had left me but is now slowly creeping in by the back door!

today hubby and i plus the two boys went to a fair organ and vintage rally..i wasnt expecting much apart from a few homemade engines to look at, but it was really good... as usual my photography skills dont show anything really..honestly i take such pants photos!

s well as all the old engines, there was loads of old vintage and classic cars all the gorgeous moggy minors and Cadillacs, and triumphs really cute and then the big ol 1950s cars that were just amazing!s













.. i did find my ideal car.. a little old BMW that was bright pink with flowers on which i think was made for me




..although i wasn't allowed to get in and have a little feel for it. i made do with standing next to it looking on with love!!



although i do think my hair should have been in a massive beehive and a black and white mini dress dont you!!!

there was also a little childs fair.. so our oldest had a fine old time going on the mini train rides, bumper cars with daddy and a little helicopter ride..

and then these fair organs..they were like works of art.. absolutely amazing.. and so big.. they took the whole of the back of lorrys.. the amount of work that has gone into them is fantastic, i love the sound of them, just makes you feel like you're walking around at a summer fete in the 1950s!!






and then there was this futeristic number !!!



so anyways we had a nice little outing.. the boys started getting tired though which is always a recipe for disaster so it was straight into the car and then home for us!!

apparently there is a vintage auction there tomorrow.. might see if hubby will take me back and see if we get anything!!

funny shoes and jugs!

well today we went to ikea for our breakfast..if you haven't been yet for your breakfast you really must go, it is gorgeous.. and only about £1.50 to .. today i only had a bacon roll but even that was so tasty, but i think that was because i have been doing the special k diet for the past few weeks so the taste of any real food past my lips was pure heaven!!!

anyway after we had our late breakfast we went along to the nearest tenpin bowling alley type for something to do that's a little bit different to what we normally do

now I'm sorry but i think theres nothing more funny than a grown woman in a little tea dress, a pair of leggings.. a pair of hubbys socks and them awful bowling shoes!!!






but then something topped that in the funny stakes..as we were paying for the games,shoes etc. .our 3 yr old ran off.. and ran straight down someones lane and fell over right in the middle of their game.. which i know when reading that back isn't that funny and i did tell him off but you had to be there.. it was funny!!!
i just thought he was going to carry on running really!!!

anyways after we had our game we were going home but i made hubby pull into dunelm mill as i fancied a nose around.. i bought this gorgeous little pink jug as it really reminded me of my johnson bros china that i already have




and it sits so pretty along side the green and the lemon, it immediately found its own special little place on the shelf so it must have been meant to be!!



it was probably my reward for having to wear them terrible shoes!!!

our day out!

we have had a lovely day out today.. my little family and then my sister, bro in law and their children
we went along to Anglesey in Wales to a lovely place called Traeth, Ive never been here before but i would really recommend it the beach was lovely all golden and sandy which i think tends to be pretty rare on British beaches they are usually quite pebbly arnt they but this was lovey
.. however just as i took my cardie off as it finally got warm the tide was coming in rather quickly so we had to pack up all our towels, picnics, prams, gather children back in from the sea and head up to the car!!!
also want to go back to this part of Anglesey as i noticed a good few charity shops and antique shops.. its always nice to go to new charity shops isn't it!!

we then went back along to Llandudno which is about half an hour from Anglesey and had a quick look round the charity shops were i bought a gorgeous little top that looks most vintage.. but was in fact from Dorothy Perkins!









i think this will look so nice with a pair of skinny jeans and little flat pumps..it will be very sienna mills/kate moss esque. but obviously they dont have my muffin top in their skinny jeans!!!!

.. and then we all had a nice walk along the front to the pier and then up to the Great Orme ( well we actually went in the car for this as last time we did this walk the senior citizens were over taking me as i took deep breaths .. its sooo steep!!)
the only thing that i don't like about being by the seaside is the seagulls!!
