my late activities ;p

Lately I began to found happiness by cross-stitching (again)...
I used to do some stitch on my high school, then not again until my father in law gave me a set of kit when I was pregnant on my 1st child (about 3 years ago) and I haven't finished the kit yet :p

However, I always in love with them... I started to buy many kits and buried them inside my cupboard, with a hope that one day I will finish them... (yes, am hoarding LOL)

One day, I saw one of my friend's stitch on her fb, it's a scenery of town... very beautiful :D
Then one of my best friend asked me about some cross-stitch things... And yeah, finally I got the nerve to start stitching again...

Some of the reasons were:
1. I need a break from never-ending jewelry-orders...
2. Guilty feelings to my father in law (LOL)
3. I Loveeeeeee them :p

So here's some of my stitching... I'm a beginner, so slow in making these things... :)

this is the kit from my father in law
And I try to make this one too, it's soda stitch kit about alphabet... :)
I made this for my daughter :D

The progress is moving very slow... Just started this one on 16th July... It may seem very simple but it took 3 hours to make the picture and about 30 minutes to make the Letters... oh well...

The carrot picture and letters were made on 19th July, and I haven't made any progress since then :p

Oh well, will post more updates about these later...
Thanks for reading... ;)

Love,
Jane :)

A Month Full of Surprise, Love, Happiness and BOM challenge reveal... :)

Today is actually my 3rd wedding anniversary... :)
Usually, my husband and I will go out for special dinner then spend our nights watching good movies...
Unfortunately we can not do that this year, because 2 weeks ago, I discovered myself 6 weeks pregnant... :D The doctor said that I should take care of my self well... And I began to feel sleepy all the time, moods become sweet and sour, and I just feel that I don't want to do anything else beside sleeping or reading books... Good for me that I don't get morning sickness, etc for the pregnancy... :p

Well, a couple of weeks ago (about a month) I challenge myself for BOM (Beads of Mystery) a challenge host by manik jawa :) We supposed to book some mystery beads, and receive a package of them...

Here's what I and other contestants get :)
Inside the package

Contains:
Cabocon Dolphin Handmade by Wulan Pelita Craft
Green Petals Gudo Glass Beads
Dark Green Gudo Glass Spacers
Pentol acrylic beads
Acrylic Bail
White Milk Gaharu Wood Beads

At first, I really want to make a huge choker with full seedbeads... But then I realized that I can't make it with my condition right now... So I made this...

my entry for BOM challenge

It's a simple necklace, with the pendant as the main course... ;p
I use 'Ayuri Spin' a spin of beads embroidery technique found by a friend of mine, Ayuk Rika... Some people told me that it looks like Jamie's spin, but actually they're different... My friend also hadn't read or have Jamie's book when she found this technique... :)

Then, i put the embellishment with a silver crystal drop at the bottom to give a touch of elegant...
Then, to make everything fit to each other, I gildered them... I also drain the wooden milk beads with some blue acrylic water... So in the end the color of the beads become soft-blue... :)

The Details

I hope that you like my creation, I know that it's so farrrr from what I wanted to make at the beginning...
But I'm proud enough that I can still make this necklace in this 'roller coaster' mood and situation...

Happy and Proud,
Jane Pranata

Beadsoupppp Sent!!

Hello everyone, I want to introduce my partner from The 7th Bead Soup Blog Party that was hold by Lori Anderson, Her name is Melissa Trudinger... :D
She is a nice lady...

Here's a part of her email to me, so you can get to know her better ;)
"I live in Melbourne, Australia. I'm in my mid-40s, married, with 3 children aged 3-7 years old. I've been making jewellery for about 3 years now, since my youngest was a baby. I mostly do stringing and simple wirework, I love to use fibres like leather, sari silk, ribbon and waxed linen in my pieces. I love to play with artist-made beads -- lampwork, ceramic, polymer clay and so on, and I love Czech beads. I'm not a seed-beader, they're too fiddly for me but I really admire people who can make beautiful things with them!"

Here are some wonderful Beadwork by her

I Love it how she put some sari silk... wow :D

Really love this!! The bird is very cute!!

My Jewelry Making Journey...

I always love jewelries, it has been my passion since I was a little girl... I used to safe some amount of my money to buy jewelries... I love to collect them and wear them... It feels weird to go out without using jewelries... :p

I made my first jewelry when I was about 21 years old... (I'm 26 now)
I just go googling and found a multiply site which sell some materials to make accessories, such as stones, beads, embellishments, and much more... On that moment I feel so excited... I finally tried to shop online...
I was so happy when I made them... First I just made them for my self... then I started selling some to my friends or families... :)

One of my First Handmade Jewelry

In my College days, I found out that there's a jewelry class... I assigned to the class and found out the joy of metalsmithing jewelries... Even though I only have 2 projects in one semester (about 6 months) I really love it... :) and continued taking jewelry second class on the next semester... (unfortunately can't find my handmade pendant, will post them here when I found it)

Unfortunately, many things happened and I start to put aside jewelries... I got my cumlaude bachelor degree in Art and Design Faculty, I went freelance working as a designer, I got married, and have a daughter, and so on...

One of my freelance work, a complete company profile for PT. CX Waterpark, Indonesia

On September 2011 I found a wire jewelry book on one of my favourite book store, I bought them and tried to practice them, simple wiring... Some are locals while others are made by international artist...
On October 2011, I started peeking again the multiply sites, and I found another multiply website about wire jewelry... I met my first wire jewelry tutor and had a workshop with her... :) (thank you Dahliani) and I made my first cabochon wire jewelry using the coiling, netting and waving... :D

My Cabochon pendant before the workshop... So messy

My first netting pendant, thank you so much sis Dahliani :)

Since then I tried to practice more and more often... and I met many people, another jewelry artisans... (Thanks God for leading me to them)

I began to grow interest for beading too, and finally try to make my first cabochon embroidery in Feb 2012 with the help of Cabochon embroidery book (Author Jauhara, thank you mb Jau)... Then finally found some proper way to beading (thank to mb Rika) and love them so much...

My first cabochon embroidery

Until now, I still love wiring and beading... I met lots and lots of wonderful people through them... :)
I just had my 1st exhibition in December 2012 and it was a great experience...
More are coming in March 2013 and INACRAFT April 2013, can't wait :)
