Hooray!!! Roman Christopher is Finally Here!

It was great news for all of us.

We are excited to welcome Roman Christopher to our family.
Born at 5:03 pm at North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
Weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and measured 20 3/4 inches long.

Laura and Roman are doing fantastic!

Proud parents for the second time!

Jane has been so excited to be a big sister. On the way to the hospital after Roman was born, Jane still hadn't met him, Jane told Chris that "we are going to the hospital to get baby Roman out." She was absolutely ecstatic when she got to meet him and couldn't have been more sweet with him.

When Jane got to the hospital to meet Roman for the first time he was back in the nursery. So she climbed up next to Laura in the bed and the following conversation ensued:
Jane: "Is it broken?"
Laura: "Is what broken?"
Jane: "Your tummy."
Laura: "No."
Jane: "I want to see it."
Laura shows Jane her tummy
Jane: "Oh, is it empty now?"
Laura: "Yep, baby Roman came out."
Jane: "It's empty now, where is baby Roman?"

Roman meets Gram for the first time.

It was quickly decided that this outfit most likely won't be repeated. He looks too much like a little old school convict ready to break rocks and make license plates.

Waiting to be discharged and buckled into the car seat for the time.

Home at last, catching some rays.

2010, An Incredibly Busy Year!

It has been an extremely busy summer for all of us and we've definitely fallen behind on the blog updates along with so many other things. Here are many pictures that capture what has been going on with us the second half of 2010 and we hope you all enjoy them.
Chris was deployed to Afghanistan for 6 months from April through October.

Laura and Jane waiting in the airport terminal for Chris to return from Afghanistan.
This was by far the best moment in 2010!

She is getting so big.

We spent a little time playing at the parks together as a family after Chris returned.

We went to a place north of San Antonio called Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. Jane saw Giraffes and fed the baby goats and loved it.

They had a drive through portion where we we saw all sorts of animals including Zebras.

We also went to the Japanese Sunken Gardens in San Antonio. Jane absolutely loved all the gold fish and couldn't help but reach down and continuously touch them. It was a relaxing place I wouldn't have expected to find in San Antonio.

We took a ride on the little train that runs around Breckenridge Park.

Jane spending a little time with her good friend Izzy.

Happy Halloween! In case you couldn't tell, Jane went as Dorothy, Laura went as a Scarecrow, and Chris was the Yellow Brick Road.

We went to Florida for Thanksgiving and spent a few days with our good friends, Keith and Stacy De-Lin. It was Jane's first time at a Beach and she loved it as expected. As we walked onto the beach from the parking lot she said "It's a giant sand box!"

Our friends in Florida had a pool in the backyard and it was impossible to keep Jane out of the water. It was pretty darn cold according to Chris and Laura standards, but that didn't slow Jane down a bit.

We had to include these photos. I hope she doesn't take up a career in modeling. For anybody who's seen the movie Zoolander, is that (pic below) "Blue Steel or what?"

Despite the extremely cold water, she always had a huge chattering smile on her face.

Who needs salsa when there's black pepper.
If you ever can't find Jane, just look in the backyard where she spent most of her summer. I was going to get her dressed and looked outside when she was nowhere to be found. She informed me that she'd dressed herself and asked me to come play with her.
