I shall be fruitful with my fruit!

I have really enjoyed participating in our local "bountiful baskets" co-op, the down side is that I don't have near enough time to use everything up!  So today, since I have a day off and only one child home to look after, I am going to experiment with my apples! Since I love banana bread, why not apple bread!

Cute Apron Give-a-Way!

So, this week I look at one of my favorite give-a-way sites, "frugal and fabulous" and found that they are giving away a darling apron.  Sooo...cute, I love a cute apron, (it goes along with my other favorite past-times cooking, baking etc.)  On Fugal and fabulous she is giving away one of the cute aprons.  I will be applying!  Then head over to Flirty Aprons, they too are giving away an apron.  (They are asking for original submissons of your favorite recipes!, I will probably submit something too!)

Super great idea in getting the couponing in order!

I just saw this on an old blog post of "frugal and fabulous"  (thats what I would also like to consider myself:)
I enjoy saving money, and I view my coupons as free money!  why not use them.  This system that was featured called the "couponizer" is very well organized, which is a must in using the money saving coupons, and also has a note pad and scissors.  What a great idea.  Click on the link below to see how this could save you money too!  I am planning on getting one as soon as I can!

This really is a rare photo, we have very few of us together!

HaLlOwEen 2009

We just did the same as last year.  Had a chili dinner (Grandma and Aunt Rosemond joined us).  Got everyone ready.  Which was a little difficult since Carter had fallin asleep.  However, once we got him the car he was ready to go trick-or-treat.  We went to my mother-in-laws neighborhood and had a good time.  I noticed this year more adults were dressed up.  Even Kasey put a little effort into it with his mask of John McCain.

Kaiden's fabulous costume, and Emilee insisted on being something "nice", thought this costume would qualify "Minnie Mouse"

Carter loved being a pirate, even though we couldn't find the sword or eye patch.  This is him saying "Argh Maties..."

All and all we had an enjoyable time together and that's what matters the most!

Making your food work twice as hard!

So last night was baked potatoes for dinner.  I can never resist baking twice as many as I need, as extra baked potatoes are always good for another meal!  Today, it happens to be homemade hashbrowns, (or my kids call them "ranch potatoes", because they love dipping them in ranch dressing, I know real healthy!)  I just cooked up some bacon, cut up leftover potatoes, added them to the cooked bacon, grease and all, peppered the mix and add scallions on top for flavor and color.  Other favorite add ins are anything you like, sausage, onions, mushrooms, cheese on top and with  scrambled eggs you can make breakfast burritos.  No one ever complains when they wake up to the smell of this, and I know this is not a "new" recipe.  Just simpley reminding others how easy it is to make your food work twice as hard!

Carter's 4th Birthday!

We just celebrated Carter's fourth birthday.  On his birthday Kasey had the fabulous idea to take him shopping to pick out a gift from us.  Not fabulous idea.  Every mom knows that a young child wants every toy they see.  After an hour and heavy persuading we were able to narrow it down, a fast racing car, huge suprise.  (not really, all this kid plays with are cars and trucks, trailers and ramps)  We took him to "Pirate Island Pizza"  where we ate, played in the arcade and enjoyed the scenery.  We hadn't ever been before, so this was fun for all of us!  He thinks his birthday is celebrated for days, and very sad when he learned that it was my birthday and no longer his the following monday.  It was a very quiet birthday for us both, I miss not having more familly around to celebrate these kind of events.

On our Wedding Day!
