Kate Isabella Beynon

She is here! Yay!!! She is the sweetest thing ever, and I am so grateful that everything went well and she is healthy. She was born on March 17th at 10:36 am. She weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz. and was 18 3/4 inches long.

A green bow for my St. Patrick's day baby.

The boys LOVE her so much and they are soooo cute with her. They love to hold her, they give her kisses on her head. I am in mommy heaven right now.
It was a big deal which one of the boys got to hold her first. They decided it would be Tyson since Carson got to hold Jaxon first, and since Jaxon didn't put up any kind of fuss about it...Tyson it was.

Her shirt says little sister

And one of my most favorite moments so far....Tyson fell asleep on the couch while holding Kate. Look at them both, so sweet, with his arm around her- precious!!

Welcome to our family little Kate! We love you so much!!!

Too pregnant to think of a witty title...

It's been a long time again since I have done this, blogging I mean. I don't know if I am enjoying this blogging thing anymore, it is kind of feeling more like another chore I have to do. But I also have been sooo busy with a very important project that takes so much of my time, like 24/7, and makes me so tired...I'm growing a person for cryin' out loud!!!! And caring for 4 others. Wah.
OK, so for all of the other stuff that has been going on besides that...here ya go.
Carson's (and Cory's, since he seemed to care about it much more than Carson) first pinewood derby. I didn't even get a picture of Carson with his car, or the awards. But this is a picture of him and some little buddies watching the race intently. The cub master, and the track. And this year we had food and music, it was fun. For those of you who don't know, my calling at church is pack committee chair. So I get to help plan and organize and pull off the monthly pack meeting. Party planning, it is pretty much my favorite thing ever!

Dessert! We NEVER have leftovers on the refreshments at pack meetings, these boys love treats! Carson's car did good. It came in about 8th out of 23 or so. Carson didn't seem to care, but if I know my husband...he will want to be a winner next year!

I had a birthday in January. My sweet hubby got me TWO cakes. They were delicious! He is so funny though. Anytime I send him to the store for something, he always buys things in twos. I laugh about it all the time. I need to start specifying "we just need ONE."

My sweet boys love to bring me breakfast in bed. But on my birthday, I was too quick for them, and as I got out of the shower I was met with this...

They are getting so good at it. It is a big difference from the first time they brought me breakfast and it was dry toast with salt on it. It was one of my first posts on this here blog. Cute boys!!!!

I also went to the Cher concert here in Vegas with my mom and Allie. It was fun!

Tyson took this picture of my very pregnant self. We are almost there! A couple more weeks. Hopefully the next post will be about a new baby girl!!

Valentines day. Cory brought these beautiful little cupcakes home as a surprise, and I caught this little man taking a peek. So cute.

February in cub scouts is the big Blue and Gold Banquet. Another fun party for me to plan! We fed all of the cub scouts and their families, it was a western theme. We had a big arrow of light ceremony, complete with an Indian chief. It was fun. It also is a time to celebrate the BSA's birthday. So to do that, we have all the boys make a cake and decorate it to our theme. Carson had to make one, when I asked him how he wanted to decorate it in keeping with the western theme, he said he wanted a log cabin and a stampede. Hmmmmmm. I can do that, I think. I love a good creative project after all. So I made a big Texas fudge cake. I made the log cabin out of pretzel rods and gingerbread house icing ( is it royal icing? I don't remember what it is called, but you know what I mean). And my friend suggested using brownie bites for the cows. And somehow I got that to work. But the cows were not really stampeding, they were just kind of standing there. Carson helped with assembling a couple of cows, and he was happy with how it turned out, yay. Mission accomplished.

Carson received his first badge, Bobcat. Way to go Carson!!!

Carson and his cute pals, Rylan, Luke, Jordan, and Garren.

December fun

I recently ran a marathon, it was called December! We had so much going on, but we had a lot of FUN too!
Carson had his first piano recital. He played 'Away in a Manger'. There is video of him playing it at the end of this post. He has been playing now for almost a year. He is getting pretty good, but I'll be honest...it is a daily struggle to get him to practice. This is him with his teacher. We had Cory's team from work over to our house for an end of year party. We had dinner, and a white elephant gift exchange that is always good fun. Thanks to my Mom and Allie for helping with the kids and the food!

Carson had a birthday, he turned 8! When I asked him what kind of cake he wanted, I was expecting to hear a favorite flavor. But instead he said "I want a Wii remote cake!" ???What the??? So Allie helped me make a Wii cake, complete with a remote. He was thrilled. And I made my favorite flavor, since he clearly didn't care about that part...chocolate!

That winter break was a long 2 weeks. So I had a project to fill some time when the kids were bouncing off the walls, rice krispie snowmen.

Now that Carson is 8, he gets to go to Cub Scouts! He looks so cute all dressed up in his uniform. He was very excited to finally get to go with all of his friends.

We had another night where I had to kick all of the boys out of the house because the Relief Society was using our house for their progressive dinner. Cory took the boys to the Magical Forest, I think they had fun...and so did I!

And Carson had a birthday party. He wanted a space theme. I had this vision of making him a cake that was a rocket ship, and I was trying to figure out how to make a cylinder shape cake and wondering when I was going to find three + hours to spend on said cake, when Cory said "why don't you just make a flat cake and put a toy rocket on top?" Hey, why didn't I think of that? Because I like to make things complicated, that's why. No, I like to make things special...but all too often I make things more complicated than they need to be. The boys were too busy playing with their rocket balloons anyway to even care about eating cake!

Another traditional project during Christmas...gingerbread houses! Except this year we tried for a gingerbread train, and it worked!

Cory took my dad and the boys golfing on Christmas Eve, they had so much fun, and I was able to get presents wrapped and a bunch of other last minute things done. Look how cute my little golfer is!

Fer cute!

One of my dad's favorite shows is "Pawn Stars" on the history channel. So he just had to visit the store while he was here in Vegas.

Christmas

This is a picture of our Christmas Eve dinner table. My dad was staying with us, and he made us turkey AND ham, and all of the fixins. I talked him out of having pumpkin pie for dessert...too much of a de ja vu from Thanksgiving...and made an awesome mud pie instead, if I do say so myself! After dinner, we had our traditional re-enactment from the bible of Christs birth, complete with costumes of course. And then the boys got to open 1 present. They didn't remember from years gone by that is always pajamas, he he he. They got slippers this year too as an added bonus present! At least they were happy with my selection of jammies.

In the morning, it was so fun. I love to see the excitement on their faces as they open gifts. This is one of the things that was on Tyson's list, a police uniform complete with handcuffs. So funny how is whole personality transforms when he has a costume on. He went around all morning arresting us. Nothing says Christmas morning like being arrested over and over.

Carson got his beloved Lego Harry Potter Castle. It took him about five hours to put together, he even let me help him a little!

New Years Eve

New Years Eve in Vegas! Fun times. This is me with my mom and sisters.
My dad.

Tyson, Cory, Colleen and Roger.

We celebrated at 9:00pm for the kids, watched the ball drop on CNN, it was just like the real thing. I BARELY made it to 12:00. We had a big fiesta dinner, danced to music, and played games. It was fun!

Carson's Baptism

Carson got baptized on January 1st, New Year's Day! What a fun day, we went bowling with family earlier in the day. Then we went to the baptism, Carson said he was a little nervous, but mostly excited. And as I watched him up on the stand singing I am a Child of God with the other kids, I felt so proud of him. THANK YOU to all of the family who came to share this special day with us. We loved having you all here!

A couple of days later, it SNOWED IN LAS VEGAS!!!! This is Carson trying to catch some snowflakes on his tongue.

There were some pretty big flakes, it even started to stick to the ground...weird weather!
