November

Time does fly and I've just realised how long it has been since I last wrote a post. I don't even know if anyone is still reading my blog after all this time! My time seems to be taken up mainly with hunting out vintage treasures, keeping my unit at Gloucester Antique Centre stocked, organising the V&H Fairs with Michele and looking after animals. The garden has been tidied up for winter, the chickens are moulting so we don't have any eggs, I have made chutney for Christmas with the last of my tomatoes and my neighbours excess apples.

I thought I'd share some photos to highlight what has been going on in my life instead of writing reams of text for you to read as there is a bit of catching up to do!

I surprised myself by winning a cup at the village show for my flower arrangement (a vintage cup of course!).

Dylan had a bath...yes, that is newsworthy!

I bought a new car - another Mini (my third so far!)

The Boy started university in Wales ....when did he grow up??

We held our V&H Textile & Fashion Fair in October.

We have had a wonderful feature about the Christmas Fair in the December issue of Homes & Antiques Magazine - out now!

The Girl & I made some new cushions for the winter.

We had a fun family trip to Gifford Circus in Bath.

Toby hurt his paw....don't worry, he is fine now!

The Girl & Balli have had lots of fun.

And Dylan got new pyjamas!

ETSY

I haven't used Etsy for quite some time but I thought that as part of my New Year's resolution of concentrating more on my online selling again now that I have more free time due to having moved the horses closer to home, I would give it another go.

To this end I have been adding some lovely 1930's school posters to my shop - these were used as classroom aids so it amazes me that they are in such good condition. This is a set that I bought recently that I haven't seen before. The maps are particularly striking.

If you'd like to seethem you can find them here:

Shop Update

Yesterday I spent a little while adding some new stock to my online shop.
Vintage Goody bags can be found in 'Vintage Sewing'. These will provide hours of fun - containing all sorts of goodies including a vintage children's magazine, knitting needles, postcards, ribbons, buttons & more. All are colour themed.

I have also added some lovely little evening bags in 'Boudoir'. These are ideal for weddings, evenings, or the prom & all at reasonable prices. I particularly like these 3....the peach velvet has the most beautiful clasp.

This one is so '50's in turquoise satin with sequins & beads.

This one is hand embroidered on black velvet - the peacock is very eye catching.

More Vintage Christmas Goodies In The Shop

I do so love this time of year...I am a total Christmas fan! All year I collect any vintage decorations that I can find & I can tell you that it is a wrench to part with them, but as I have lots of my own I feel it's only fair to share some of this vintagey loveliness around. I have a couple of boxfuls of goodies put aside for the Vintage & Handmade Fair on the 3rd December & have added some sweetness to my Christmas Shop, so do pop along here for a browse!

Shop Update

It seems like a million years or more (OK...so I exaggerate a little!) since I updated my online shop. I have been so busy with fair organisation & planning as well as stocking my unit at the antique centre & now that Tamzin has returned to university I have Dylan the horse to look after too....I'm pleased to say that his injury is improving & he is allowed out for a few hours a day which makes him very happy!

Anyway, as I recently bought a collection of delightful vintage toys I thought it was time to add some to the 'Second Childhood' section of my shop. I know how much you all like to see vintage goodies so I thought I'd show them to you here.

Above is a sweet handmade donkey & below a cute pup made from silk plush.....

Finally, a miniature Morphy Richards iron complete with cord & 'plug' - perfect for dolly's washing day!

The Latest Addition To The Stable

This week sees another vintage horse joining the Country Cottage Chic stable.
This is a 1950's Mobo 'Prairie King' rocking horse.

The black blob on the old wicker chair is Purdy....we have two of these old chairs outside & the cats love to sleep on them & use them as scratching posts too.
