Fall is in the air

Not sure about where you all are, but here in the Pacific Northwest fall has definitely made it's appearance. The air is chillier, the leaves are beautiful with their colors, and the rain has made itself known again.

Today I have a trio of cards to share with you These were all made for My Mind's Eye using a variety of collections. They haven't had a fall themed collection in a while, so for this assignment I had to pull pieces from some different collections. I love doing this!

This first one was made using primarily Indie Chic (paper and button), used my Scor Tape for the stripes of glitter, the wood frame is from Studio Calico, and the rest is from Papertrey Ink (felt, die, and that gorgeous script stamp).

For this next one I put my Silhouette and lots of MME decorative tape to use.

This next uses Indie Chic again. I die cut two leaves out of the paper and backed the negative space with contrasting paper, then I cut a third leaf out of felt and adhered the positive piece to the front of my card. 'Falling' was cut with my Silhouette.

Happy fall to you all!!!

Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop Challenge

Welcome to the PTI June blog hop. Today's challenge was to add a touch of gold to your project. LOVE gold, so I jumped in with both feet on this one!

I added some gold in three different places. The most obvious of them is the strip of gold glitter that sits atop the strip of washi tape. The second and third areas are a bit easier to see in the close up. I used my gold ink dauber to add splash in the center of my flower (it's much more shimmery IRL). The third spot is just a wee touch in the twine that ties the button, it's white with a gold thread running through it.

Supplies:
PTI: Limitless Layers Square Dies, Embroidered Blooms and Ruby Rose Stamp Sets, Harvest Gold and Hibiscus Inks
My Mind's Eye: Chevron Paper and Washi Tape, both from Find Your Wings & Fly: Sky's the Limit

Welcome first day of summer!!!

My kids are out of school, the boys are gone to North Dakota, Natasha and I are enjoying girls' week, and the One Doubles tennis season is in full swing....all of which means one thing, it must be summer!!!

Since today is the first day of summer I thought this would be the perfect day to share my latest Simple Stories layout and card with you.

Both of the following projects feature the I {Heart} Summer collection...my FAVORITE Simple Stories line to date!

and a card...

Crafting mayhem is about ready to start in my household as brand spankin' new CHA products are starting to arrive. This means having to create lots of things under pressure. Up first is Simple Stories, and let me just say that if you are a fan of Simple Stories you will NOT be disappointed with their new releases!!!!! I don't know much yet about My Mind's Eye, what wee bit I know has me intrigued!

Hope you are all enjoying long, sunny, carefree summer days!!!!!!

Couple of Cards

Happy Friday everyone! I'm here today to share with you a couple of cards that I honestly did just whip  together with some scraps that were left on my desk. I love to make cards after I get done making a layout. There is usually enough stuff left over on my desk to put one or two together.

These were made using some My Mind's Eye...

This first one was super quick and simple as the leaves and flowers were already pre-cut and just sitting there waiting to be used.

Another pretty simple one that utilizes a bunch of thin cut strips of patterned paper.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We are enjoying some beautiful weather in our parts, should be perfect for the soccer and baseball games on our schedule.

A little challenge...

I had some spare time this month and decided to join in on the My Mind's Eye sketch challenge. I pulled one of all time favorite lines of theirs and went to work. These two cards both use Stella & Rose. Here is the sketch that was provided for us to work off of...

and here was my take on it...we had to make it a celebration themed card.

I flipped it to horizontal and used some Spellbinders die templates on it (Stars Five and Blossoms Tags & Accents)

I really liked this sketch and used it again for another card...

Used some more Spellbinders Die Templates with this one too (Classic Heart, Classic Scalloped Heart, Classic Circles and Lace Doily Motifs).

Speaking of My Minds Eye...swoon, have you seen their newest releases? Another round of Lost & Found...ahhhh, makes me a happy little girl! Oh and those 6 by 6 pads in, my wallet is going to be crying!!!

Make It Monday...

I haven't been able to get a card done for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge done in a few weeks. I couldn't pass this one up. This week was all about ink blending. So, I grabbed my Distress Inks and my PTI Delightful Doilies stamp set and went to "work".  I started out by heat embossing the doilies with Versamark onto my white cardstock. Then I blended my Distress inks over the top. Lastly stamped over the top of it all with a text stamp. Lastly, I wiped my embossed doilies off with a baby wipe to get rid of the extra ink and to make them nice and white again.

Then since I had the stamps out already I decided to make a similar card with a completely different look. Used Jenni Bowlin inks for this one (except the purple, because she doesn't have a purple :( )
The sentiment on this one is from Scattered Showers.

Hope you are all enjoying a fabulous weekend!

Clear Scraps Blog Hop

This past year, we had an awesome opportunity to team up with Unity Stamps and we'd love to show you some of the projects we were able to create pairing a crisp, clean rubber stamp image and the acrylic and chipboard products from Clear Scraps.

Start at the Clear Scraps blog and follow the list of designers blogs.  Comment on everyone's blog and then come back to the Clear Scraps blog and let us know that you did.  Everyone who completes this blog hop will be entered for a really nice prize package from Clear Scraps.

I chose to trim down a 12x12 sheet of Clear Scraps to make a 4.25x5.5 card.  I was sent the stamp set titled "Shine On", it  has the cutest lamp stamps. There are a total of 5 different lamp and three sentiment stamps. I am featuring three of the lamps and the You Light My Life sentiment.

Using white Stazon ink I stamped the lamps and the sentiment, then backed the lamp shades with some patterned paper.

If you arrived here on my blog just by chance then you'll want to head over to the Clear Scraps blog to get started on the blog hop. If you have been following along the list of participants from the Clear Scraps blog I am your last stop before heading back to the Clear Scraps blog. Make sure to leave comments the whole way through to have a chance to win! When you are done here head back to
