As 2008 begins, so does a new chapter in my stitching...
I am taking part in the 2MuchXS 2008 Project Challenge. The goal is to start certain projects, which have previously been named in the Group postings, on January 1. I decided that I would really challenge myself by starting twenty-two (yes, I said 22!) pieces starting at the stroke of Midnight. I began with Blackberry Heart by The Sweetheart Tree at 12:00am and ended with Mr. Snowflake by Mill hill at 3:13am. The night before, I was up getting my fabrics measured & cut and marking the placement of the first stitch on each piece. I had needles threaded with the correct floss for most of the pieces, so it was almost like an assembly line on my couch for those three-plus hours.
I've been told I'm "certifiable," but my stitching goals for 2008 include:
Finish 5 bread covers each month, for a total of 60. These are sold at Greensborough Trading Co. in Greensboro, MD. You can visit them at: http://www.anywheregourmet.com/GTC/
Finish 2 Christmas ornaments per month. One for the StitchingFanatics 12-month exchange, one for GTC.
Finish 2 Navy Emblems. One is for Uncle Wes. The other is for his friend who retired as a Captain.
Stitch the Golden Retriever by Pegasus Originals on the canvas tote I received in a RAK (Random Act of Kindness).
And finally, to stitch at least six samplers, including the Teenie Kits by The Sweetheart Tree.
Yes, you counted correctly, my goal is to have 93 pieces, at the least, finished by the end of 2008! Actually, if I finish all of my Challenge pieces, that would be 99 finishes, so let's just say my REAL goal for 2008 is to stitch 100 pieces before Midnight January 1, 2009! Keep in mind that most of these are small pieces, so don't dismiss this out-of-hand as ludicrous.
So make sure you stop back by to see my continuing progress...
