PENNCON 2012 Central Pensylvania IPMS Show - Awards

As I wrote in previous post, on September 15th I attended Penncon 2012 Show, organized by folks from Central Pensylvania IPMS. This year I placed on the tables 6 of my models, and I brought home some awards :) In fact, each one of my models received the medal :) It was quite successful day...
Thank you guys!

Old Dominion Open - IPMS Richmond

On February 25th I attended Old Dominion Open Hobby Show, hosted by IPMS Richmond.
It was good show, a lot of good models on the tables, and quite impressive vendors' area.
As always it was great occasion to meet some old friends, and make some new ones.
The only unhappy  thing was how armor categories were divided :( My beloved braille scale armor was joined with 1/48th scale in Tracked Armor Vehicles, and to make it worse in Armored Cars, Softskin and Artillery categories it was placed together with 1/35th. Very unfortunate decision, which may keep away braille scale modelers from this show.
However I was quite lucky, and 3 of my models received awards in other categories.

It was good start of 2012 season, and I hope it will get better along the way.

"Fighting For Vodka" in "A View From The Sprue"

My project "Fighting For Vodka" was featured in "A View From The Sprue", monthly newsletter of  Northern Virginia IPMS Modelers.

Sometimes you end up with model kit, which some impulse buy, and after a while you look at it wondering what to do with it. In my case, I bought Soviet KV-2 tank from PST, for reason which I don't recall. One day finally I pulled it out from my stash, and I got an idea to convert it to SF Walker Tank :)
And I made this beast...
Here we go...
