Hi Everyone - well, several more September birthdays are rolling around this week. I made this card for my Aunt Linda. Thank goodness for my Silhouette. It's so easy to purchase a card design from the store, pick the paper you want to use, put it on the mat, push cut, and VOILA - a la card!!!
I really like how this card looked - sunshiny and fresh - just like my Aunt Linda! She lives in South Carolina and I don't know if you all know someone from South Carolina or not, but they have a very distinctive accent. I love to hear my Aunt Linda talk!! She is a true Southern Belle!!!
One tip about this card - while I was making it, I realized that if I wrote a message on the inside of the card that it would show through the circle on the front of the card. So what I did is I made the blue sky so it could be removed to read the message underneath. I just wrote "lift" on the top of the sky on the inside of the card.
This is an A2 card and was truly fun to make! Go purchase it from the Silhouette store, make it for someone, and make their day when they receive it in the mail.
Thanks so much for stopping by - Mom and I appreciate your visits and comments. Until another day, God Bless You!!! Donna

THANK YOU - Silhouette Cameo
Hi Everyone - me again - surprise!!!
Well, I needed a thank you note for a friend of mine. This friend is also one of my volunteers. Her husband and she are trying to help my nephew get booked at a music festival that occurs in Chattanooga, TN every year. It's a fun two week event where each night a different line up of bands/musicians entertain tens of thousands of people with their music.
So again, I went to the Silhouette store and purchased this card. I think that Carol and her hubby, Mickey, will like it. My mama taught me to make sure I thank someone when they do something nice for you. Hopefully, my nephew, Christopher, will get booked and Mamaw and I can go watch him just down the street from our houses!
Thanks for visiting - until another day - God Bless You!! Donna

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GAIL!!! - Silhouette Cameo
Hi Everyone - me again!!! I know it's a shock - two days in a row!! Mom has kept the blog going for so long while I've been so busy with work, school, life in general that I thought I would give her a break for two days in a row!! She makes such beautiful work and puts so much time into all her creations - I thought she needed a break!!
So yesterday, I told you that my mother-in-law's birthday was coming up next week! So she doesn't like me to give her store bought cards - she keeps all my cards and sets them out for a long time after her birthday has passed. So I thought I would make her this pop up card from the Silhouette store! It was very easy to make - simply load the paper, send it to the Silhouette and the machine does all the work. The hardest part is deciding what color of paper to use.
Here is the front that I printed out with the Silhouette:
and here's the inside of the card:
I think she'll really like it. Now off to make some more cards for my Aunt Linda, Aunt Nellie, friend Tanner, and brother Brian!! I'm sure that I can find something in the Silhouette store for each of them!
Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit and we would love to hear your comments! Stop by again to see what Mom makes for all these people too - I'm sure it'll be beautiful as always! Until another day, God Bless You!! Donna

You Are My Sunshine - Sophie Cricut Cartridge, The Paper Shelter
Hi Everyone!
My mom recently won a challenge that awarded her some digital stamps from The Paper Shelter. Oh My Goodness, we didn't know that website existed but their digital stamps are absolutely beautiful. They are the type of digis that I love to work with so if you've never visited that site, here is the link: THE PAPER SHELTER. You'll find something that you like, I'm sure!
For the card I made today, I used the Funny Sunflower digi. I just love Sunflowers - they make me think of Spring and Summer. I colored two of the same digi with the following Promarkers:
Flower - Sunflower (HA), Gold, Tulip Yellow, Orange
Butterfly - Amethyst, Purple
Stem/Leaves, Grass - Pear Green
Snail - Soft Green
Lady Bug - Red, Cool Grey 4
I cut the face off the flower out so that I could pop it on top of the other face for dimension.
I used my Cricut Expression to cut the Yellow cardbase using the Sophie Cricut Cartridge - Card 2 on Page 48. I cut the card to the dimensions of 6.5 x 10. I mount the digi to yellow chalkboard paper and then attached it to a piece of blue woodgrain cardstock. I tied ribbon around the blue cardstock and hung a flower charm from the ribbon. I also cut another piece of blue cardstock and attached to the inside of the card to show through the flowers on the side of the card.
I think the card turned out really cute and can be used for a Birthday Card, Just Because Card, or a Get Well Card. Thank so much for stopping by today - we appreciate your visits and your comments. Please stop by tomorrow - Mom has been playing with vinyl and you will LOVE what she's done to her machines. She's going to make something for my machines too (HINT, HINT)!!
Until another day, God Bless You!! Donna

I Love You More!! - Silhouette Cameo
Hi Everyone!
I hope you all are staying warm and safe these days. I know a lot of people are getting LOTSSSSS of snow!! I live nearly 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta, GA and we received a little snow/ice mixture that made national news last week. I work in Chattanooga, TN and live in Georgia. When it started snowing/icing, my boss (wonderful lady) sent me home. A trip that normally takes 20-25 minutes took me four hours to get home. My neighbor went to get Jacob for me at his school because I couldn't get home!! I was EVER SO GRATEFUL!!! We rarely get snow around here so when we do, everything and I mean everything, comes to a standstill!!
So while I was at home because of the snow, I made a few Valentine's Day cards. I'm going to show you the one that I made for Jacob. When I saw this cut file in the Silhouette store, I knew I had to make it for Jacob. The funny thing is when I sent a picture of the card to Mom for her to see before I posted it, she told me that she had been planning on buying the cut file and making it for Jacob too!! The reason? Well, when you tell Jacob that you love him, he almost always says back, "I LOVE YOU MORE!" So of course, this card is PERFECT for him!!
Here's a picture of it:
As I said I downloaded this card file from the Silhouette store and then loaded my mat with the paper and pushed the cut button. I already had a frame cut file that I used to cover the inside of the card. I think Jacob will really like it and I know he'll get why I made this particular card - it's what he says all the time!
Thanks for stopping by today - Mom and I greatly appreciate your visits and your comments. Please keep stopping by - Mom has more tea cup cards to share and I have some more Valentine's Day cards/projects to share - for hubby, Mom (of course but don't tell her), my boss, and Jacob's teachers. Now I know why I'm tired, I've been busy!!! Until another day, God Bless You!!! Donna

Baby Photo Album - Cricut Cartridge Arbooking, Cricut Expression, Silhouette Cameo
Hi Everyone! I hope you all have had a good weekend! We are still in the process of celebrating Jacob's 13th birthday. He thinks his celebrations should continue on through the weekend which they usually do. Yes, you're right, he is somewhat spoiled!
Now on to my project!! I have a friend, Melissa, that is having a baby boy in March. The department she works in at our hospital held a baby shower for her and Baby Lucah on Friday. So as part of her gift, I decided that I would make her a photo album.
Now I must say that I have fallen in LOVEEEEE with the new Cricut Artbooking Cartridge. If you ever want to make a photo album for someone, this is the cartridge for you. There are so many different sizes and styles of books that you can choose from and all you have to do is choose the book/page you want to make, load the paper, and cut!! VIOLA - a la book!!!
I decided to make the 8 x 6 photo album which is a baby theme book. I did use a few of my other Cricut Cartridges to add more embellishments like a choo choo train to some of the pages but most of the embellishments, overlays, sayings, etc. came straight off this cartridge.
The title on the front of the book was created with the Silhouette Cameo - downloaded, printed, and cut - then I popped it with 3D pop dots. I hope you enjoy see the different pages below:
I gave this book to Melissa on Friday and she LOVED it. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Mom and I appreciate your visits and your comments. It was nice to read some of your comments last week saying that you had missed our posts. Until another day, God Bless You!! Donna

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHRISTOPHER!! - Silhouette Cameo
Hi Everyone - have you ever heard the expression - "Great minds work on the same channel?" Well, my mom's brain and my brain must be working on the same channel. You'll see what I'm talking about when you see the card that I made for my nephew, Christopher, for his birthday.
Mom and I didn't talk about how we were going to make our cards, so the fact that the cards came out so similar is kinda funny!! For my card, I used a Silhouette Cameo card kit. I chose a Silhouette background file that contained guitars and sized it to fit the front of my card. The sentiment was generated with Word.
Here's the card:
If you will look at Mom's post from yesterday, you will see just how similar the cards are - oohhhh so funny!!! Thank you so much for stopping by today - we appreciate your visits and your comments!! Until another day, God Bless You!! Donna

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TERRIE!! - Silhouette Cameo
Hi Everyone - yes we had another birthday in our family again this weekend! Saturday was my sister-in-law's birthday - she turned 50!! Now let me say that my brother did REALLY good for himself when he married Terrie!! She is just as beautiful today as the day he married her 32 years ago and she is beautiful from the inside out!! And YES, they did marry young!
Here's the card:
So, again, I went to my faithful Silhouette library and found an image that I wanted to use. I found this image but it didn't have a card base with it so I decided to make one. I took the scalloped background and merged two of them together to form the card. Then I cut the green background to cover the front of the card and then simply cut out the pink HAPPY BIRTHDAY and glued it to the front - VOILA!! A LA CARD!!!
I'm going to have to make something soon with my Cricut because it's getting jealous of the Silhouette and my creative brain is turning to mush! When I use the Silhouette, I don't have to think about how I'm going to put the card together - That can be good and that can be bad!
Well, thanks for stopping by today - we so appreciate your visits and your comments! Until another day - God Bless You! Donna

ENJOY THE RIDE - Silhouette Cameo
Hi Everyone! Surprise, Surprise, Surprise - I made a card!! HAAAA!!! It's been a LONNNGGGG time since I've been in my Happy Space and I actually made this card at my Mom's house on Sunday.
I made this card as a Thank You card for my brother and sister-in-law. A few weeks ago, my mom took Jacob to their "retirement home" in Virginia for a visit. My brother and his wife love to ride bicycles and they built their house near the New River Trail in Galax, Virginia. Now, Jacob had never learned to ride his bicycle and the reason for that was my husband let him go over the handle bars while trying to teach him so he wouldn't trust us to teach him after that. So my brother and his wife told him that they would teach him.
So when Mom and Jacob got to Virginia, Brian took Jacob to Walmart and bought him a new bicycle. Keep in mind that Jacob had a brand new bicycle in the garage that had been there for several years that he wouldn't touch! Anyway, so Brian and Terrie worked with Jacob the next morning, and he was riding within an hour. He caught on very fast and has been riding VERY FAST ever since. Jacob wants to know when he can go back to Brian and Terrie's because he had so much fun. Here he is when they got him to stop long enough to take a picture.
Thus the card - Enjoy The Ride is what Jacob has been doing since that weekend. He wrote a personal note to them thanking them for all they did for him.
I downloaded the images from the Silhouette Library. I just love the Chevron pattern that is so popular these days so I cut that image out to cover a 5 x 7 card base then cut the phrase and adhered it to the top. All in all, I think it turned out really cute.
Well, thanks for stopping by for a visit - Mom and I appreciate your visits and your comments. Until another day, God Bless You! Donna

THANK YOU CARD - SILHOUETTE CAMEO
Hi Everyone! Now I know that I've said it before but I have to say it again - I absolutely, unequivocally have the BEST boss in the world. She was on vacation last week and before she left, she gave me a VISA gift card. Then that's not all - every day throughout the week, she would text me to tell me where my surprise of the day was located. OH MY GOODNESSSSS!! It was so much fun and made me feel so special.
Day 1: Flower Pinwheel
Day 2: Bag of Hershey's Kisses (favorite candy)
Day 3: Red and Black Drinking Glass with Cap (the kind you can take in your car and drink coffee out of) with a bag of Cashews Nuts inside (my most favorite kind of nuts)
Day 4: A beautiful smelling room diffuser
Day 5: Three movie tickets for my family to enjoy
Now didn't I tell you that I had a GREAT boss??? Well, there's just some of the proof.
So of course, I had to make her a card to thank her for her generosity. Using my Silhouette Cameo, I made the card below in less than 30 minutes. I already had my paper picked out when I decided which cut file that I would use for the card. All I had to do was place the paper in the right spot on the mat to cut the different elements, load the mat, and press cut.
Then I assembled all the pieces and then cut out the envelope which was another cut file from the Silhouette Online Store.
I can truly say that I never thought that I would love a machine more than I loved my Cricut Expression. Well, I must confess, the Silhouette is quickly becoming my most favorite machine over the Cricut.
Well, thank you for stopping by today. If you're someone's boss, think about the people that work for you and how you can make them feel special. It only makes them work harder for you. Mom and I appreciate your visits and your comments. Until another day, God Bless You!! Donna

DON'T BE "BUGGED" - Meljen's Designs
Hi Everyone:
This post holds some bittersweet thoughts for me. First, this is my last post as the April Guest Designer for Meljen's. I have always been a fan of Melissa's digis and have truly enjoyed being a part of the team for a short time. Secondly, today just happens to be my 50th birthday with which I am having a really hard time becoming a part of the Half Century Club. Of course, there are a lot of things that are worse than turning 50.
When I saw the digi I used for my card, I knew that I had to make something with it. It brought back a lot of wonderful memories about my Daddy and the Volkwagon "BUG" that we used to have when I was a child. Daddy's "bug" was pumpkin orange. During the time that we had the car, everyone had a CB radio (yes, I really am showing my age). Well, Daddy's handle for his car was Pumpkin I. Our family loved that car and my Daddy always kept it clean and shiny. The Pumpkin I came to an early death when my brother rolled the car three times on his way to pick his girlfriend. Luckily, he had his seatbelt on and walked away from the accident.
For this card, using a pre-cut card, I covered it with royal blue cardstock. I colored the digi with Promarkers and of course, I colored the car orange. I cut out the digi and adhered it to orange and yellow paper. I added a strip of patterned paper and twine. Then topped it off with some purple flower buttons. The sentiment was generated in Word - "Don't be "bugged"...... by another birthday! It's only a number. (I think I need to follow my own advice!)
I really enjoyed making this card because it brought back wonderful memories of my Daddy. Sure do miss that man!
Thank you, Melissa and Meljen's Designs, for allowing me to use your digis for projects and to post them on your blog. I truly enjoyed the experience. If you are looking for some great digi stamps, I'm sure that Melissa will have something in her store that will meet your needs.
Until another day, God Bless You! Donna

BERRY NICE TO SEE YOU! - Meljen's Digistamps
Hi Everyone!
I hope you all are having a good week. This week is one of my favorite weeks at my job - it's National Volunteer Week. I work with over 500 volunteers at the hospital where I work and we always have fun during this week showing our volunteers just how much we appreciate them. Now on to my project.
I found this project on the Creations by AR website. There are many templates on this website that are fun to make. When I saw this little basket, I knew what Meljen's digi stamp that I wanted to use with it. I used the "Berry Happy To See You" digi which I love. I colored the digi with Promarkers. I think the berry's face is so cute.
I made this basket for one of my son's teachers as a little thank you. She loved it as much as I did. If you are looking for a wide variety of digi stamps, Meljen's Designs is sure to have something that you will like.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CRAIG! Creative Cards
Hi Everyone! It's been soooooo busy around our house the past two weeks. I went to Baltimore for a conference leaving my husband, son, and dog here to fend for themselves. Now if that doesn't strike fear in your heart, you're a better woman than me!! Well, I came home on Friday to lots of hugs and thirty minutes after getting home, Jacob was running a fever of 101.5. He came down with a stomach virus that lasted for three days - OMWOOOORRRDDD!!!! Then on Sunday, I had to take Mom to the Emergency Room. Yes, she has been sick too!!! She is on the mend now, thank goodness!!! Anyway, it was an eventful weekend!
So I said all that to say that I haven't had time to craft and today is my husband's birthday. So I borrowed the Creative Cards cartridge from Mom and have to say, LOVE IT!!!!!!! It made making a card so fast and so easy. I didn't have time to try and figure out what to make the card look like and by using this cartridge all I had to do is pick the paper and push the buttons!
Using DCWV Citrus paper, I cut the card and all the elements of the card at 7". One problem with doing that size which I found out after the card was made is you can't cut the envelope at that size. So I guess hubby will get a card without an envelope unless I find one that the card will fit in - keep your fingers crossed.
Here is the front of the card:
and here is the inside. I used the negatives that I had left over from the items cut for the front of the card.
If you need a cartridge that will let you cut out cards and all the elements of the card with just the touch of a finger, this is the cartridge for you. Thank you for stopping by today - we appreciate your visits and your comments. Until another day, God Bless You! Donna
