October '08

October '08 - We had fun in October! Even though Derek had school, we had an opportunity to go to Phoenix, AZ with one of my new best buddies, Kristina and her boys. Kristina moved here to Pioche about 1 and 1/2 years ago after marrying a "local" boy! We have become great friends and she is my big time work out partner! In the summer we (along with a few other friends) walked about 4 miles a day. Kristina's boys are ages 8 and 7, so they are good friends with Derek. Kristina is from Phoenix, and Dave's neice was getting married in October there in Phoenix, so Kristina offered to take us there and she would be able to visit her family. It worked out great! We had great fun. Here's some pics!

August, 2008

August was a good month, but a sad month. That is why I got behind on my blogging. I was in "mourning". For dog-lovers, you may understand why, and others may not, but we lost our beautiful RuRu (Gamine-Tache) in August. We were on our way to our family vacation spot in Southern Cailfornia when we heard word from my mom that Ru had gone out early that morning and not returned. She was getting pretty old, (almost 15) and we knew the time would be coming soon, but we are never really prepared for it. We hoped and prayed she would make it back home, but she never did. :{ I'll post pictures of her when she was an adorable puppy and one from last winter that I love. She'll forever be in our hearts though. I still cry over losing her.

But, our vacation was GREAT fun! We went to Knott's Berry Farm, a water park just across from Knott's Berry Farm, and the Ocean. That is Dave's most favorite thing: THE OCEAN! We miss being in Reno, cause it was easier to go to San Francisco and Santa Cruz from Reno. We have to travel a little longer from Pioche, but it's still fun. The kids traveled well and we all had a great time.

Derek also started school in the middle of August. He is so smart and does so well in school! We are very proud of him!

The Big Camp Out!! July 7th-11th

My mom and dad took Derek, Kaedon and their cousin Kenzie camping at Beaver, UT. They left Monday July 7th, at 8:30am and came back Friday July 11th about noon. They all had a great time and kept very busy! Mom and dad couldn't believe how good Kaedon did. Kaedon just went around camp pushing his little truck and kept happy. Derek and Kenzie swam, flew kites, fished, they went to Fort Cove, and just kept busy doing everything more than one or two times a day! I enjoyed having a break, but I kept busy at home helping at the store and working on this BLOG! :}

We did miss them horribly though! That's all Dave and I talked about when we were home together was how quiet the house was and how much we missed them! Now, the house is busy and loud and we're so happy they are home safe!

FYI: You can click on the pictures in a blog post, to see them full size! I know they are kind of small in the post, but at least there is a way to see them bigger! :}

Interests: Games! He has a PSP, Playstation II, WII and a gameboy. His favorite PSP game is, SOCOM. His favorite Playstation II game is, Sly & Ratchet & Clank. His favorite WII game is, all of them!

Favorite Activities: Football, Basketball & Baseball. Play catch with his dad, He likes to swim. He likes riding his bike. Go to friends houses.

The Beginning of my Blogging! July, 2008

7/8/08: MY FIRST BLOG!! I am starting a blog thanks to my wonderful sister-in-law Deborah and a great friend Lina! I LOVE looking at their blogs and it is a great way to keep everyone updated with our lives! I'll try to update weekly, but it will probably be monthly. But hey, that's good for me!

I have recovered very well from my back surgery! I had it on May 14, 2008 and what a difference it has made in my life! I can sleep now, I can stand now, and I feel so much better! I have even lost weight and that makes me even more happier!

Dave has been suffering horribly from allergies. His eyes would water terribly and it just looked like he was continually crying. He was miserable and I felt bad for him. I think he is barely starting to get it out of his system now, so hopefully he won't be crying as much!

Derek has loved being out of school for the month of June and he has done nothing but play with friends! He is only happy if someone is over at our house, or if he is playing with someone at their house. He took swim lessons and did a great job. They taught him how to dive into the pool from the edge and it took him only two tries and he went in beautifully. I wish we were somewhere where he could swim competitively. He has a perfect body for that!

Kaedon is sill just a happy boy! He loves to torment his big brother and you just have to watch out if he has anything in his hands that resembles a bat. OUCH! Then he'll laugh. He loves pushing his little ride-along car around the house, and then again, you have to watch out! Poor Gamine, I think she gets ran over more than anyone.

Well, I'm going to see if this works and if so, I hope everyone is well and please share your blogs with me! It's so fun to keep up with friends and family this way! 7/8/08
