small but perfectly formed......

seriously, these are hats
even though they are the size of egg cosies......

knit using the fixation baby hat pattern on ravelry
using adriafil knitcol wool......

those needles are working overtime........

i've had a couple of 'swift knits' recently
which have been so satisfying......

this hat...... {for me....... and maybe to share with Evie}

{cable convergence via ravelry}

loved the easy cabling in this.......
I used some wool that I had sitting around
which came home with me from Oz.......
a merino wool blend......
soft and warm......
just perfect........

this cowl....... {for Evie -
modelled on me}

{Gap-tastic cowl also via ravelry}

I used DROPS Andes wool for this
{a wool and alpaca blend........
lovely and soft and super chunky
          which knitted up in just a few hours}.........

I only used two balls of wool and then stopped so it
isn't as wide as the one in the pattern photo but fits perfectly......
any wider and it would've felt too bulky at the neck when
doubled over in my opinion.......

and these socks........ {for me.......}

{I used the pattern that came with my original ball of sock wool
 but there are hundreds of sock patterns on ravelry to choose from}.......

I had to rip the toe back a couple of times on these
as I {somehow} kept getting it wrong.........
I'm still not sure it is totally right but not to worry,
they are finished and look fab none-the-less......

I plan on acquiring some more of the DROPS Andes wool
and knitting a cowl for myself now........

i'm so speedy..... i shock myself sometimes.....

I thought, when I wrote my last blog post, that it would take me
FOREVER
to knit up this pair of socks......
teeny, tiny knitting needles
{or needle in this case as it was a teeny tiny circular one}......
super skinny yarn......
and my innate inability to stick to one thing at a time......

but low and behold, I give you
a pair of socks, a mere two months later......
{some people may be knitting these up in a few days
but that will never be me, so two months is pretty epic in my book}.....

just in time for a british summer......
they will be well used I am sure......

hollibob projects.....

we went on our hollibobs a few weeks ago.......
it was a bit like this one from three years ago......
however the road trip took a slightly different route
{though we did drive through Las Vegas again......
it's still weird......}
and it ended with us spending eight days in
Arizona with my brother and his family.......

of course I did have to have a couple of hollibob projects to keep
me occupied during the long drive and so decided to knit a little
'in threes' cardi {a pattern I have used lots of times before}
as we have friends who will soon be welcoming their first
baby into the world....... exciting stuff.....
{I just need to get three little buttons on this and it
will be completely finished.....}

I also knitted a little egg cosy for a special friend that
we caught up with for supper on our last night in
the USA before we flew home to the UK.......

the pattern is by Little Cotton Rabbits and can be
purchased here if you would like to have a go at making
perhaps the cutest. egg. cozy. ever.......

{and still on my needles is sock one of a pair.......
it is getting close to the toe now though......}

hopefully I'll be wearing them come the winter......

a new year knit......

just a quick little knit for the new year.....

easy peasy to knit with one ball of adriafil's knitcol wool.....

{I had to be canny with my use of this ball of wool as I only had the one
and so I knitted the hand warmers side-by-side and ended up with about
10 inches of wool left at the end after casting off}.....

{notes for pattern on ravelry}.....

holibob project......

a bag of yarn in the footwell of the front seat of the car
{passenger side I hasten to add}
and the beginnings of a new blanket to keep me
occupied on the long drive ahead
must mean we are off on our holibobs.......

and as we are off to the yorkshire dales for the first week or so of
our summer holibobs I have decided to christen this one my
hills and dales blanket......

colours of the sky and earth with a very limited colour palette this time
{very much in contrast to my last blanket which had a rather large colour range......}

and a simple edge to straighten up the ripples.......

and we are all done......

in comparison to the hexie blanket which took nearly
4 and a half years to complete this was a quick project.......
took me less than a month from beginning to end.....
oh yes.....

and now isaac will have something to snuggle under when
the weather gets a bit cold that will not cause him to
itch and scratch like a cat with fleas......
