2018 Clubhouse: Atlanta Braves

First off, I know Acuña missing may seem like blasphemy. But as I explained in the previous post, this checklist was made way back before he was even called up. With that out of the way, here are the Braves that looked like no-brainers back around April or so.

#6. Ozzie Albies (RC)

#7. Freddie Freeman

#8. Ender Inciarte

#9. Dansby Swanson

#10. Julio Teheran

Hey, at least Albies is here. If the switcheroo came, obviously Acuña would be included, as well as Nick Markakis, taking Inciarte and Swanson's places, though I do really enjoy the Inciarte pic. I'd also probably drop Teheran for Mike Foltynewicz.

The autograph options are Freddie here and an unseen Ozzie Albies. I think a Braves fan would be happy to pull either of those.

Here's a look at the gold parallels, numbered to 50. You might be able to see a little shimmer/sparkle here. That's so they're not just a solid, flat color. Kinda like how the Topps black parallels aren't just pure black. I think it adds a bit of a premium feel to the parallels and sets them apart from the base just a tiny bit more.

2017 SPIRIT BOX BREAK - PACK 24

218. Michael Pineda

118. Jerad Eickhoff

1. Kris Bryant

246. Kevin Gausman

297. Tim Anderson

45. David Robertson

181. Leonys Martin

125. Jake Lamb

169. Alex Bregman (RC)

G215. Nolan Arenado

TL63. Julio Teheran - Team Leader (ATL-ERA)

Closing out the box with a pretty strong pack, all things considered. Finally pulling the Kris Bryant base and the Alex Bregman rookie card. Add in the Arenado gold and it’s a pretty solid way to end.
Going forward, I’ll probably post new designs individually instead of in this box/pack format. I may even fill in the gaps in some of these insert sets as well. I do plan on doing a Pennant box like this, though probably fewer "packs." Those are already in the works.

2014 Spirit Base: 541-550

#541 - Evan Marshall
As a rookie, Marshall had a pretty decent introduction, appearing in 57 games and posting a 2.74 ERA.

#542 - Julio Teheran
After his own strong rookie season, Teheran was even better in 2014. He was arguably Atlanta's ace.

#543 - Jonathan Schoop
I bet Schoop will be happy to finally play in a game with the whole country watching. It's sure to cut down on the number of people who refer to him as "SHOOP."

#544 - Mike Carp
It'd be sweet if the league had Mikes named Gar, Pike, Brill, Bass, Cod and Sole. An All-Fish team.

#545 - Mike Olt
I still wish the Rangers could've kept Olt on board, especially considering how the Matt Garza thing didn't exactly work out.

#546 - John Danks
I'm always happy to find a pitcher photo that isn't just the same old windup shot.

#547 - Sam LeCure
He needs some eyeliner and stringy hair, imo.

#548 - Carlos Santana
He needs a perm and fedora, imo.

#549 - Nick Masset
A question for all you Rockies fans reading: Do you all call him the Masset Hound?

#550 - Joba Chamberlain
Joba's really making for lost time spent under the Yankees' "clean shaven" restrictions.
