This week I decided to work on some more of my paper dolls...this piece is created with the sum of those parts....and is called ...."Boundaries" these girls are all screwed down because they are never aware of their boundaries or limits....this way they are kept in line....

In light of the wonderful season of Strawberries right now I decided that all of my submissions this week would be created with a nod to the wonderful Berries we pick each year...so here we go!!!!

Illustration Friday....Toy

I was toying with the theme this week...then decided to keep with my 1940s Dictionary page art and create a piece as a homage to one of my favorite toys growing up....the doll.....

so here she is ....on her special page....all ready for some play.....

I have a whole lot of vintage pages to work on and this was a fun challenge to tie in Illustration Friday with my new series of illustrations on 1940s Dictionary pages.....

Illustration Friday....better late than never....theme "cultivate"

Hi Everyone...I have been without my computer for almost three days now and I am finally back....can't wait to see all of your blogs....and catch up....seeing things on my blackberry was not that easy on the eyes...

so I ended up doing some Spring cleaning and painting....wall painting that is.....I will have to show you the colour that inspired me this Spring.....

What will you be cultivating this year?

Illustration Friday - Swarm

I love bees...need I say more....

Bees were the first thing that came to mind when I saw this week's theme on IF....

Meet Tasha...the Queen Bee....she wasn't going anywhere from her hive...she was going to stay still forever....as her busy workers swarmed around her they kept her warm with their fluttering wings....and the scent of sweet honey made her hive even sweeter....

This would make a cool new outfit for Lady Gaga....wouldn't it?

Meet Wally, Raulph and Joey...they love to perform special shows at the Tropicana Theater. Under each layer you will find some hot spicy characters that go great with almost everything you eat....

I love onions!!!! just peel the outer layer and voila....you're ready to create something yummy and good....

Illustration Friday...."Surrender" free download for Valentine's Day!!!!

Joey knew that he had to do something special for his Love Marie...so he decided to hire an Illustrator and get her to design some Valentine's that he could use....and this is what I came up with.....

Do you think Marie will surrender her love to Joey?

I think he might just have a chance!!!!

I love bees and I love honey...so I hope Marie does too.....

Weekend Sketches.....Take II - Illustration Friday - "Chicken"

When I did the first piece...I had fun with a real chicken and some real fried chicken....then today over breakfast...the phrase "What came first, the Chicken or the Egg?" came to mind and I created this silly piece....and you know eggs and bacon are a perfect pair...lol...so they eventually got hitched!!!!

I am also submitting these to Sunday Sketches....over at Blue Chair Diary

The initial sketch is left and the final above really makes me giggle...

Illustration Friday.....Deja Vu!

I love Deja Vu....when you see the illusion of having previously experienced something actually being encountered for the first time. Pretty fun and sometimes pretty scary....

Here Tim the Banana sits on Sock Monkey and finds that the scene is oddly familiar...oh yes...like deja vu! yikesssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!

Illustration Friday - Savour...mmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm good!

These sisters are always trying to make things taste better for their clients....When Emma, Rosie and Daphne get into the kitchen they always try new things....they want all of their clients to savour their food so today they are adding ground peanuts to their chili to add a subtle nuance that will affect the sense of taste.

Even Chef Robert Irvine makes Peanut Butter Chili..... who knew!!!

For me any mode of flying is the best transportation....Planes are the most obvious to all of us Land Dwellers....but Imagine how lucky the witches are with their mode of transportation....Would be cool to have a broom that could make you fly!

I love the old fashioned Victorian ladies of the past....they were always dressed up and they had some cool hairstyles too....this piece is mixed...some ink and watercolour ladies with some digital fun.....

Illustration Friday - trail

These are two new watercolour commissions....

the first one I worked on for a client that has people moving from England to Canada....now if that is not one long trail over...I don't know what is....this is a welcome in true Canadian form....my submission to IF this week....

and the second one is a girl portrait in the middle of this amazing trail leading up to a Spring garden filled with daffodils and greenery....

Illustration Friday , Sunday Sketches and Sunday Postcard art....

 
Hi Everyone!!! just wanted to do a piece for IF, Sunday Sketches and Sunday Postcard this weekend....The theme on IF is Fearless and Umbrella over at Sunday postcard...so I put together this piece...it has been very stormy here and you would have to be fearless to head out....and there is no way you could use an umbrella with the scary winds howling....I also added the sketches so you can see the quick sketches and the final piece....
