Warhammer 40K Eldar: Old Style Harlequins

Here's a collection of GW's old style Harlequins Allison recently did for a customer. I've always had a fondness for these models and I think she did a fantastic job of capturing that old school feel.

The Avatar was missing his topknot when he came in, so that is why it is missing on the completed piece.

Harlequins are very complex paint jobs between all the checks, stripes, and gems. Usually these run about the cost of a detailed RPG character+ as they take a lot of time.

Warhammer 40K Imperial Guard Valhallans

Some more classic 40K figures for our 40K fans: Imperial Guard Valhallans. We've been working through a customer's old collection of Imperial Guard figures and this latest batch finishes up their Valhallans.

Warhammer 40K: Zoats and Imperial Guard Tallarn

This order has some stuff you don't see very often: zoats and the old metal Imperial Guard Tallarn. The customer had liked the colors we used on a demon figure in a previous RPG figure order and wanted these to be painted similar.

For the IG we loosely based the scheme off of Lawrence of Arabia.

I love the old Imperial Guard metals. I find them a joy to paint and they look spiffy to boot.

Warhammer and Warhammer 40K: Slughterbrute and Hellbrute

Here's two Chaos pieces we did for customers. The first is the Slaughterbrute for Warhammer Fantasy Battles. The customer provided some instructions for colors which made it a bit tricky. There's a fair number of colors and we wanted to prevent it from looking garish. Here's what we came up with:

Here's the Hellbrute. The customer's instructions on this piece was to make it look "chaosy".

Two fun pieces. Loads of details and character. The Slaughterbrute's assembly was amazing. Lots of parts but the way it comes together is clever. No undercuts on the model so there is no loss of detail anywhere.

Warhammer 40K Old Style Imperial Guard Cadians

A customer sent us an order of the old metal Cadians along with one of the figures he had done and requested we match the sample figure. Here's the results:

It occurred to me after I took the pics that I didn't get a side-by-side of the sample pic and our work so you'll just have to take my word that they match up pretty well. He had an urban style camo on the uniforms. I used a modern urban pattern as inspiration for the sniper's cloak.

These are still my favorite Imperial Guard miniatures. I prefer the metal and love the character and style of these sculpts. My own Imperial Guard army is composed of these miniatures.

Warhammer 40K Space Marines Blood Angels

Some pictures of a small 40K commission: Blood Angels Assault Marines. These were painted and based to match a trooper the client had sent. That's always a tough thing to do since styles may vary widely. It wasn't too bad on this project though once I came up with a plan:

I'm pleased with the way they came out. They match the figure sent pretty closely. The red came out nice a vibrant really catching the eye.
