Little Bobby - God Made Me Blue (2022)
Little Bobby
Little Bobby's music interest is a family affair. From his father to his Grandfather "Minnesota Music Hall Of Fame" to all his cousins that all play something. Its no surprise that Little Bobby is one himself.
Little Bobby's first instrument was the drums. He got his first set from his aunt and uncle. His passion soon changed and he was turned on by the sound of the guitar. His first influences were the blues style of Jimmy Page and Jimmy Hendrix. Of course there is going to be diversity in this story. Little Bobby was some what of a wild child partying drugs and the life. Little Bobby ended up serving time in prison on two different occasions. That's were the story of the blues begins.
While doing time, Bobby met another Indian brother, who one day told Bobby, "You have a blues voice". Already being self taught the improvising style of the blues seemed like a natural fit. Upon his release from prison Little Bobby started a band called The Storm. After getting a cheap recorder he laid down his first blues cut "Hey There Storm" and got his first radio spin on "the Riverside Blues Show" From there Little Bobby was hooked on the blues.

Emil & The Ecstatics - Rise Again (2018)
Emil & The Ecstatics
English blue-eyed '60s soul meets trippy delta blues on the fourth album from the devastating Swedish outfit. Emil's scintillating guitar work evokes Albert King or Roy Buchanan, the rhythm section is instinctive and magnificent, and to top things off, the organ affects the celestial notes of Brian Auger.

Delaney & Bonnie with The Allmans Brothers & King Curtis - The Classic Studio Session 1971 the Classic Broadcast (2022)
Delaney & Bonnie
An outstanding 1971 studio concert broadcast, featuring Delaney & Bonnie and Friends, hot off the road with Eric Clapton and George Harrison, live at A&R Recording Studios in New York City - this time with friends Duane & Gregg Allman and King Curtis. The show begins acoustically (listen to D&B & Duane on Come on in My Kitchen ) then gets rowdy and electric for the second half. There s a lot of chatter too which is endlessly fascinating and while the electric set has some minor sonic issues, the historic significance of this recording is rich the 18 minute Only You Know And I Know, featuring smokin leads by King Curtis & Gregg Allman is a pure joy to behold. Speaking of historic significance, it should be remembered that both Clapton & Harrison escaped the restrictions of their respective bands to hit the road with the Bramletts, and Clapton raided D&B s Friends to form Derek & The Dominos (while the Stones snagged Bobby Keys and Jim Price who debuted on D&B s Accept No Substitute). Delaney Bramlett, who passed away in 2008 at 69, also produced and co-wrote one of Clapton s best solo albums, 1970 s Eric Clapton.

Clay McClinton - Age Like Wine (2022)
Clay McClinton
Clay McClinton’s music is woven together with rawhide and hemp, barbwire and willow reed. He blends country, blues and Tex-Mex to create his own unique sound. With five CDs under his belt, and 15 years of touring, Clay has honed a songwriting style that succeeds in being both deeply personal yet universal.
Few artists have pursued their careers with the clarity and conscious exploration that mark Clay’s self-designed path. He grew up in Fort Worth, TX and began learning guitar and harmonica from his father. At 16, he began to pursue music as a career more seriously and as soon as he graduated he moved to Austin. That would be the first of a series of conscious steps towards his self-development as a musician and songwriter. While in Austin, he absorbed the creative atmosphere and began writing. Clay was never interested in having a cover band. From the beginning he wanted to develop his repertoire of originals before taking to the stage full time.
His next move was a skip across the pond for a trek around Europe. He and 2 musician friends spent four months playing music on the streets and in hostels.
When he returned to the states, Clay decided on a move to Flagstaff, AZ. He began playing in two distinctively different bands where all the players performed predominately their own music. The Blues Project drew on Texas stomp and southern blues for their sound, while Second Harvest was an acoustic blues/bluegrass/folk band. Clay immersed himself in playing live, performing five or six nights a week. After a couple of years in Flagstaff, Clay added The Clay McClinton Band to the mix, in which he and his Telecaster took center stage.
Clay’s relocation to Nashville in 2003 was another conscious move. This time it was to hone his writing and production skills in a town known for the songwriting community and top of the line studios. This is where he created his first and second CDs, formed a tight four-piece band and began touring from coast to coast. They lived on the road for the better part of four years.
In 2008, Clay decided to come full circle and return to Austin. He continues to write, record and perform with no end in sight.

Poor Man's Change - Poor Man's Change (2021)
Poor Man's Change
Those who’ve known Orange County as a bastion for wild, beer-soaked parties, biker bars and roughneck swagger need an introduction to OC-based band Poor Man’s Change. Beyond the classic sounds forged by working man’s rock-n-roll, this band born in a land of big city bustle, sunshine and sandy beaches brings offers raw and remarkable take on what it means to be a Southern Rock/Country band in 2017. Building on their resume of sold out local shows and national tours for the past three years, the four piece led Robert “Red” Page have become one of the most active bands in OC’s music scene, releasing three albums beginning with their debut Firewater in 2014, Southwestern in 2015 (released on Hourglass Records) and their latest effort Wild Kingdom released independently in November of 2016. Influenced by the outsider country ethos of artists like Sturgill Simpson, the band’s sound stays true to the eclectic, concrete cowboys who produce it, sporting gritty soulful vocals, driving bass, guitar licks that compel the hips and drum beats that draw music fans of all walks of life onto the dance floor. The release of Wild Kingdom sees the bands taking enjoying their status as an independent band by incorporating elements outside of the typical country or Southern rock sound. Where the debut five-song record felt more like an appetizer, Wild Kingdom fleshes out their sun burned mesh of outlaw rock and backyard party anthems seamlessly. The album’s lead single “Good Life” dabbles in hip-hop country, melding elements ranging from electronic beats to lap steel guitar in a way that just feels natural. As their name began to take off in 2015 they built their local following to a point where the ability to sell out venues like the Wayfarer in Costa Mesa, Slidebar Rock N Roll Kitchen in Fullerton or the House of Blues in Anaheim became standard practice. The four-piece, hailing from the city of Orange is comprised of Page and bassist Andrew “Birdshot” Ballenger, guitarist Drew “The Chief" Michaels and drummer Cory “Soul Train” Anderson. In the last year, the band branched out of their local scene to visit South By Southwest and tour multiple parts of Texas as well as Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico. Following another successful run at SXSW this year, the band are ready to roll out to country and and rock festivals all across the US.

After Tea - Joint House Blues - 1970 (2012)
After Tea
This was the third outing from these Dutch soulful r’n’b ambassadors, and dates from 1970. It’s fair to say too that the bulk of what’s on offer here is mainly rooted in a much harder blues-based rock and full-on progressive style sound than any of their previous efforts. The title cut, while a little on the plodding side for my tastes, still does a pretty decent r’n’b boogie chug, coming over at times sort of like, well the mighty Cuby+Blizzards, or a more coasting Q65 readily come to mind but only as mere reference points, while the likes of ‘You’ve Got To Move Me’ will perhaps grip you the most, even after just one or two listens, due to its tough use of Hammond organ and wild, wailing wah-wah guitar.
For sheer wilful audaciousness, and also the set’s heaviest and indeed downright scariest moments, however, you need to check out the lengthy ‘Trial’ / ‘Punishment’ / ‘The End’ suite which will undoubtedly test the patience and endurance of, at least most casual listeners.
Pursue to the end if you can though, as the reward comes in the shape of some extraordinary guitar and drum action, respectively. This newly expanded edition includes a bunch of the gr oup’s single releases too, spanning from the late 60sand on into the early 70s, of which a different, grittier produced version (or perhaps just an edit) of the title track appears. One of the highlights for me in this section has to be the driving ‘Sunshine Eyes’ which, along with the
afore-mentioned ‘…Move Me’, could almost be the work of a different band altogether, although definitely not the Tee-Set, I hasten to add, even though both groups would shared some members now and then.

Seth Walker Band - Meet Me In The Middle (2000)
Seth Walker Band
Seth Walker (born 1972) is an American electric blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Walker's musical genres include Americana, blues and jazz.
Gotta Get Back was released on September 2, 2016, and debuted at number 6 in the US on the Billboard Top Blues Album. His 2009 album, Leap of Faith, also charted on the Billboard Top Blues Album chart, peaking at number 2.
Delbert McClinton remarked "the first time I heard Seth Walker at a small club in Nashville I was impressed like I haven't been impressed in 30 years, with performance, presence, and great songs."
Walker was born and grew up in Altamahaw Ossippee, North Carolina, United States, with classically trained musical parents. He learned to play the cello at the age of three, and gravitated towards the blues in his teenage years, finding inspiration in the work of B.B. King, Snooks Eaglin, Ray Charles and T-Bone Walker. Walker attended East Carolina University where he studied art. His first public performance occurred in Greenville, North Carolina.
In his early twenties Walker moved to Austin, Texas, and began to develop his skills as a singer, songwriter and guitarist. His first album, When It Pours It Rains was released in 1998. Meet Me in the Middle (2000) was similarly credited to the Seth Walker Band. His 2002 album release was entitled Restless. On the Outside (2005) followed with a credit to Seth Walker and the Differentials. Walker’s self-titled release, Seth Walker, appeared in 2006 and received critical acclaim from periodicals including No Depression, Blues Revue and Maverick UK.
It was after that release that Walker met the Grammy Award-winning Gary Nicholson, with whom he developed a songwriting partnership. This alliance led to his most successful release to date, Leap of Faith (2009), which was produced by Nicholson. Walker stated "this album was made during a time in my life when I was caught up in some shadows. The idea of a leap of faith actually does reflect where I was at personally and making this record was the light for me." The album contained tracks written by Walker alone, Walker and Nicholson, plus work by other songwriters including Nick Lowe and Percy Mayfield.
Walker performed at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in September 2011, and has toured supporting both Raul Malo and The Wood Brothers. The song "Back in Your Arms Again", jointly penned by Malo, Nicholson, and Walker, was recorded for The Mavericks' 2013 album, In Time, and released by them as a single.
Walker lived for fifteen years in Austin, before he relocated again in 2009 to Nashville, Tennessee, where he recorded Time Can Change (2012). After touring, Walker moved to New Orleans to record his 2014 album Sky Still Blue which was produced by Oliver Wood of The Wood Brothers. His album released September 2016 entitled Gotta Get Back was produced by Jano Rix of The Wood Brothers. Of Gotta Get Back AllMusic noted that "Walker explains in the liner notes that he looked back to his early childhood for what got him excited about music in the first place for the album, and that family played an important part".
His 2019 recording, Are You Open?, was chosen as a 'Favorite Blues Album' by AllMusic.

The Lenny Paul Band - Ready Already (2018)
The Lenny Paul Band
Lenny Paul got his start at an early age, having grown up in a musical family. His mother would sing opera tunes around the house while his father and brother played the accordion. Family gatherings would often include singing while his uncles played guitar and clarinet. After spending some time with the accordion and saxophone, Lenny got his hands on an electric bass when he was 12. Maintaining a diet of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Motown, R&B, and various other genres, Lenny continued learning his primary instrument, and began working in various bands playing all types of music. However once he heard “the Blues” he knew he had found his place.
Performing more often than not as a sideman in bands, Lenny ventured into the guitar world 10 years ago so that could become the frontman that he is inside. From there he developed The Lenny Paul Band, a project he maintains currently in Northeast Ohio.
Throughout the years, Lenny has been fortunate enough to call many places his home: Ohio, Philadelphia, and Houston. All three places have lead to him connecting to super talented blues musicians, such as: Jonn Del Toro Richardson, Sean Carney, Shaun Booker, Sonny Boy Terry, Diunna Greenleaf, Bob Margolin, RJ Misho, Anson Funderburgh, Rich Del Grosso, and many more.
(His time with Sonny Boy Terry included placing in the semi-finals at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, in 2010.)
When living in Philadephlia, Lenny joined his first Zydeco band, Zydeco-A-Go-Go, in which he played for 4 years. Moving to Houston, he continued to play blues and Zydeco, including with Raa Raa Carter & the Zydeco All-Stars.
Lenny recorded extensively as a sideman for various blues and R&B albums, and a has Zydeco record with Zydeco-A-Go-Go. His most recently released frontman work features The Lenny Paul Band with the CD, “Ready Already”. This record consists of nine original songs, written by Lenny. Other CDs include "Brotherhood", with John Markovic and "Meet You In Philly" featuring Sonny Boy Terry from Houston, Texas.
Lenny continues to tour extensively both in the U.S., Central America and Europe. The countries in which he has toured include: Canada, Costa Rica, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria and most recently a 30-day tour of Poland, Czech Republic, Austria and Slovakia.

Brandon Teskey - Screaming Into The Void (2021)
Brandon Teskey
One of the lessons I learned from watching the movie King Richard is that if the path others have paved doesn’t suit you, then go your own way. That’s what Richard Williams had to do to propel his daughters Venus and Serena to tennis stardom. That’s also what Arizona blues rock guitarist Brandon Teskey has done on his second independent album. He exudes raw, hard-driving energy in a fusion of blues, rock and psychedelia, bringing Joe Satriani and Carlos Santana to mind.
Just listen to the first two songs – Screaming into the Void and “Vertigo on the Heights of Desire.” They’re both instrumentals, and MAN, are they good. How good? They made me glad I stayed up past 1 AM to write this review. On nine original tracks and three covers (“Side Tracked” by Freddy King, “Autumn Leaves” by Joseph Kosma and Jacques Prevert, and “Equinox” by John Coltrane), Teskey holds nothing back – not his rip-roaring riffs, skillful guitar phrasing, or octane level. This is a wild ride from start to finish, so buckle your seat belts.
Brandon was born and raised in Southern California. At age 11 he began playing guitar and was exposed to blues music shortly thereafter, becoming consumed with the art of Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Albert King, Robert Johnson, Albert Collins, and T-Bone Walker, as well as rock artists like Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and Eric Johnson. An obsession with songwriting also sprang up within the young man.
By the time he was 15 years old, he had joined an established blues band with some members forty years his senior. By the time he was 16, he had played the prominent San Juan Capistrano venue, The Coach House, where he had seen many of his idols play as a kid.
In 2017 Teskey released The Chime, a solo rock instrumental album which combined the influences of rock, Delta blues, electronic rock, and jazz. The same year Brandon, along with other bandmates, formed ‘Until the Sun’, which allowed Brandon to return to his Blues-Rock roots and opened new doors of creativity. In 2019 Until the Sun released their debut album, Blackheart, followed by their 2021 album, Drowning in Blue. Throughout 2021, Until the Sun played numerous shows and went on some small tours, despite the COVID lockdown.
With Teskey (guitar and lead vocals) are Chris Tex on drums, Jon Nadel on bass, Alyssa Swartz on vocals, Will Kyriazis on keyboard, and Danny Markovitch on saxophone.
You might not think there are any slow tunes on this album, considering its title, but Teskey and company surprise us with “Amare Nocturne,” number five. It’s short, sweet, and smooth. The band strikes the right balance between passion and finesse, not getting carried away with long solos and fancy tricks. Don’t get me wrong. There’s plenty of flair here, but it’s in the service of the greater good: romance. Grab a partner and dance!
Another fascinating song is “Tree of Life,” meditative and reminiscent of Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight.” It’ll relax and energize you at the same time. The best thing about it, though, is how smoothly the main melody and the background blend into each other. Neither is meant to overpower the other, like yin and yang in perfect equilibrium. Alyssa Swartz provides warm and expressive background vocals.

The Perpetrators - The Gas And The Clutch (2005)
The Perpetrators
*2006 Western Canadian Music Award Winner and Juno and Maple Blues Nominee** 'Playing the blues is about paying your dues and there's no question the members of The Perpetrators are paid in full... it's a crime these Perps aren't famous yet.' - Peter North, Edmonton Journal 'After releasing a rockin' debut that wouldn't have been out of place on the Fat Possum label (in fact, it's arguably better than most of that imprint's new signings), the Perps hit the road hard, stopping just long enough to record this outing in a few quick sessions at Bedside. The result is a bluesier effort that heralds both the band's past and it's present. The past in the low-down, gutbucket sensibilities these guys have honed in years of playing, the present in that Jason Nowicki, Scotty Hills and Ryan Menard are now at the height of their powers. They don't just love this music, they live it.' A (rating) John Kendle, Uptown Magazine Through the constant touring in support of their self-titled debut CD, The Perpetrators have aged like a fine whiskey, gaining depth and maturity but losing none of their bite or raw power. This is immediately clear to anybody who listens to their 2005 follow-up, 'the gas and the clutch. ' Working 99% live off-the-floor, they pull off the daunting task of nailing the primal, and at times barely containable, energy of their live show in the studio. Like a live set, the songs roll raucously though crowd favorite originals like 'She Let's Me Know' and 'Rollercoaster Love' and tributes to some of their favorite artists, including Hound Dog Taylor, Taj Mahal and Neil Young. Of course the new release doesn't mean a chance to rest on their laurels. The first few months after it's release see the band opening for Los Lobos at JazzFest Winnipeg and making their debut at the Chicago Blues Festival. There may be no place like home but The Perpetrators are willing to rock the house anywhere anytime people need some good time, high-energy music. For more background on The Perpetrators, please check out their first disc, also available on CDBaby. 'Influenced by Big Sugar, Dick Dale and Hound Dog Taylor, Winnipeg's rockin' blues trio, The Perpetrators, get this party startred on their second album with a raucous cover of Taylor's '55th Street Boogie' and pay tribute to their hometown with a kick-ass cover of Neil Young's 'Are You Ready For the Country.' But the real highlight arrives when skin-pounder Scotty Hills stumbles out from behind the kit and steals the mic from singer/guitarist Jason Nowicki for an exceptionally heartfelt and soulful reading of Taj Mahal's 'Lovin in My Baby's Eyes.' It wouldn't be surprising to hear this one on commercial radio. Lenny Milne's sparse production captures the raw essence of the Perps' live performance by allowing them to both hang and cut loose. The Perpetrators don't reinvent the wheel but they sure give 'the gas and the clutch' a workout.' - 3 1/2 stars Bruce LePerre, The Winnipeg Free Press 'I thoroughly enjoyed the first album by these Winnipeggers and am happy to report that this one is in'
