New challenge over @ Altered Eclectics *

For this months challenge I altered three 5x7 canvases and joined them together.  I covered the background in crumpled tissue and coloured it using brushos and h2o's.

I drew three hearts and paper mache'd using dictionary pages.  I used red brusho over the top working from the outside in watering the colour down in parts  until I achieved the effect I wanted.  I smudged black charcoal around the hearts to make them pop a little more.  Not so sure if it worked to be honest lol.

Now for the pics

Hugz for now and please head on over to Altered Eclectics for our fun challeges

August Challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu *

and the theme this month for the PINK team is ''By the Seaside''.  I chose an image of a lady sitting in her bathing costume with the sunshade.  I was originally going to put this together Finnibair style but changed my mind as you can see - things never go to plan do they lol.

I basically used modelling paste over the canvas, painted over using acrylic paint and rubbed inka gold over it.  I used purple, platinum and turquoise.  I added the picture and put together the words using small wooden letters.  I sprayed the flower and leaves using dylusions.  The pearls were colored using alcohol inks. I also used inka gold on the flower and leaves.

That is it for today.

We hope to see you over there with us Eclectics......

A quickie post*

Today I felt like trying glass painting -  so I did just that.

I stamped dear old Elizabeth Bennett (Indigoblu) my fave stamp at the moment (bet you didn't notice 2 recent posts) onto the glass and painted her to the best of my ability.  I then placed her onto canvas after paining it cream - I was going to leave it cream but it looked awful besides steampunky type theme does not do cream lol.  I added a clock face, hands (onto the modelling paste clock face)  corners onto the glass, 4 heart embellishment and numbers, for the year Jane Austen had finished writing Pride and Prejudice,
all from Fernli Designs. The sentiment I stamped on tissue paper and simply stuck them on using mod podge. I used Silks acrylic glaze on the clock face, banner and numbers
I finished it off by using my ever faithful adirondacks (spray) and inka gold.

That's it now for the pics.

Thank you for dropping by today and hope to see you again real soon

New challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu *

This month for the Pink team is Anything goes so was spoilt for choice.  I have needed to find something for my desk at work for my photos.  I have plenty of canvases and an idea blossomed.  Why not put 2 memo type boards and join as a book.  So there you have it.

Ingredients

2 canvases
wadding
material - I just used what I had left lying around
ribbons
trim
brads

Attached wadding to front of canvas first then fastened ribbon crossways and attached brads.  Inserted wadding on inside and covered with material and edged off with trimming.  I didn't have any hinges strong enough so improvised with wide ribbon to join them.  Voila all done.  Quite a simple project but one I really concentrated on lol.

Why not head on over to Eclectic Ellapu and join in with the Pink teams challenge of ''Anything goes'' or the Purple teams challenge of ''Go Green'' - We would love to see you there.

Just Playing. F

Well this makes a change - creating just for my blog and not for a DT piece.  I covered a canvas with sheet music from an old book.  I used 3 pieces of calico and stamped 2 of TH stamps from the classic range.  I stamped the lady face over 2 pieces.  I love these faces.  I stamped a feather stamp all over the pieces using peacock feathers TH distress ink.  I used a dot stencil and a line one using my modelling paste,  Once dried I used inka gold over the texture.  The sentiment stamp came from one of the classic sets.  I didn't want to cover this one in loads of embellishments.  I wanted to keep it simple and simple it is lol.  Thats it and now for overload of pics - couldn make up my mind which to post - as usual lol.

New Challenge over at ABAC - F

((This project was inspired by Jennings644 and CreaBoetiek over on You Tube))

This month the challenge over at Anything but a Card is 'New Beginnings', there are so many interpretations of this theme.  I chose 'New Home'.

I used tissue for the background on my 12x18 canvas, I then painted and sprayed until I achieved the desired effect.

I cut shapes of houses freehand as it didn't need to be perfect - in fact quite the opposite.  I painted, used modelling paste, lace, stamps, ribbon, playing cards, inks - the list goes on lol - used quite alot of bits and pieces from my scraps.I used 2 different types of moss for the grass and trees.  The big post house with gilding flakes on the roof had the coloured (used dylusion sprays on it) fresh moss as grass and trees in the garden and the old unloved buildings had dried dead looking moss.
Sorry for overload on pics - couldn make up mind on what looked best lol.

I do hope you have enjoyed your visit today.  Why not head on over to Anything but a Card and join in with the fun.  We would like to see you there.
