Our Christmas 2020 (Plus, NYE)

January 5, 2021

Christmas Eve Eve at Pappastio's! So much yummy Mexican food. So much cheese. I think we started this when Milam was a baby and we all look forward to it every year.

Christmas Eve with my family.

Christmas Day at our house.

Celebrating Christmas with Jonathan's family. So much Christmas plaid this year and I loved every inch of it.

Barrett's first hot chocolate. He was a huge fan. Couldn't pry that cup out of his adorable chubby hands.

Our NYE plans were a bust so we brought home some Whataburger and were asleep by 11. It was actually really nice.

Georgia's Christmas

December 15, 2020

All of my kids have been so unbelievably hard to shop for this year. So hard.

Georgia is nine and into the whole VSCO girl thing still. Save the turtles and all. The only thing on her list that I didn't get her was an Apple Watch...because, duh, she's nine. She already has a Insta Max mini and tons of Vans and only asked for a new skateboard, yoga pants, and new Birks.

My older two kids have a set amount of money I spend (Barrett is lower because he has no idea and doesn't care) and THIS is the buying guide I use for them.

Here is most of what I ended up getting her.

Skate Board // Yoga Pants // Birkenstocks // Bible // Backpack

Then, I packed her stocking with a ton of fun stuff. These are links to some of the fun things.

Phone Charger // Fit Bit Band // Phone Case // Pop Socket // Pura Vida Necklace

Avocado Luggage Tag

(She has Jonathan's old iPhone 6 and it doesn't have a phone number or data. Only uses wifi and can text a few family members using an email address I made her. She also has an old Fitbit and I was having the hardest time finding a band that fit her. I picked this one because it adjusted the most.)

And, if you're looking for more of an experience type gift...

my mom ended up getting her THIS shirt to go along with adopting a sea turtle in her name from HERE. We plan of visiting her "adopted turtle" this summer at the Sea Turtle Rescue in South Padre, Texas. She'll love it!

Weekend Top 10

December 14, 2020

 1. Fun Friday

Tea + Popcorn + Gingerbread house + Christmas Chronicles 2

Milam requested a popcorn and tea night so that's what I gave him. I added the gingerbread house for fun and Netflix added the new christmas movie.

2. THIS Christmas album. Side one of disk one is just pure gold. We love it so much and listen to it on repeat. I've had the hardest time finding it online because it is so old and has such a generic name. I found it on Amazon HERE. Ours is two records that are each double sided. It's called, "Home for Christmas", which about half of all Christmas albums seem to have the same name.

3. All of the sibling cuddles and love. They act nice...sometimes.

4. Epic Christmas lights. We go hunt this house down every year. We love it. Georgia and her sweet friend wore their fuzzy bath headbands and look way too old.

5. Matching Christmas clothes. It's my favorite time to match.

6. All snuggled up reading a Christmas book in their fuzzy Christmas PJs...

7. Just kidding...acting like hooligans

8. Milam in antlers

9. This should have been number one but all of our kids slept until like, 8 on Saturday morning. It was heavenly.

10. Christmas party time. We decided last minute to take all three kids to our friend's Christmas party. They had invited the kids but honestly it's a lot of work to bring them and we had decided to leave the boys with my mom.  We ended up taking them and they all behaved so well. It was really nice. Plus, they looked adorable in more matching Christmas clothes.

Friday Favorites - December So Far

December 11, 2020

I've been super swamped lately. With holiday cheer but also with a lot of work. I'm trying to stay on top of blogging as well because I really enjoy it. Here are my favorites from the first part of December.

Georgia recorded her Nutcracker performance for school this week. She looked so pretty! Her eyes are my favorite.

We got the tree all set up and I love taking night time portraits of my kids with the tree.

Milam's school dress up days have been my favorite this year. So fun and so simple! PJ day, wear christmas lights, dress like a candy cane,

The kid's rooms are all decorated for Christmas and it looks so magical!

Milam has been so sweet and so snuggly. I think we're finally coming out of the terror that is the 2's and 3's. Four year old Milam is the best.

It's not my favorite how big he is looking lately.

Probably my favorite thing this week was getting this gem of a photo!

Barrett has been getting a lot of love. A favorite and so sweet!

Barrett. Always a favorite. I literally cannot stand how cute he is. Ugh. SO CUTE! When I got him dressed I thought has pants were navy. Out in the sun I realized they were black. Mom fail.

Christmas Wrap Up

December 30, 2019

This season we just laid low.  Barrett is the only baby we've had that was born in the fall and we are trying so hard to not let him get sick.  I think it's ok for my older kids to sit out a few activities this year rather than haul Barrett all over town and expose him to so many germs.  It's been a little disappointing for the older two but it's worth it for mom and dad.

We (semi) decorated the tree and hung the stockings. We just didn't not have the time to go all out.  We have big plans for next year!
Decorated two gingerbread houses
Bought our advent calendars at Trader Joe's

Milam saw Santa at school
(A long time ago I stopped doing Christmas traditions that don't give me, "the warm fuzzies".  Santa doesn't.  It's a long line and in my opinion a waste of money but that's just me.)
Jonathan slept on top of the roof at his school in a silly (but successful) way to earn money for some families in need in his district.
We looked at Christmas lights
Sent class gifts to school

I made dough boxes for the kids
(HUGE hit!)
Wore a lot of Christmas jammies
Wore a lot of matching Christmas clothes
Decorated Christmas cookies
Watched the Polar Express
Ate food from pappasitos
(Our Christmas Eve Eve tradition)
Went to Christmas Eve service
Had Christmas with my family
Opened presents on Christmas morning
picture is after I cleaned ;)
Celebrated Christmas with Jonathan's parents
