Trendsetter Shadow Box

I set aside some time this last weekend to just play. I dug out the new Trendsetter line from Fancy Pants, an older photo and this cute 7Gypsies shadow box.

The colors in this line seriously look like they were made for this picture!

I also dug out some of my enamel dots. I've got some from My Mind's Eye, Basic Grey and Teresa Collins. I just love them. They give a little pop of dimensional color without sticking up too high.

I'm not going to lie, it felt GOOD to make something, just because. :)

Have a great day and I hope you make something fun soon!

My Publication Binder (and some fun news!)

This year I decided to get serious about trying to get published more. And that meant getting organized! I grabbed a binder(aqua, of course) and a bunch of page protectors and got started!

First up, I created my main categories; Calls, Cards (unseen), Cards (seen), Layouts, Mini Albums and Other.

I printed out each category name on printer paper, placed them in page protectors and then stapled little tabs with the names on the side.

Behind the section for calls, I glued a tab for each magazine that I want to submit to. I've got sections for Paper Crafts, CK, Create, Cards, Scrapbook Trends and Simply Handmade. I need to add one for Scrapbook and Cards Today.

Once I print out a call, I slip it into the appropriate page protector and then it's all ready for me to check when I have a little time to create.

Once I've submitted a project, I print out a sheet that has the supplies I used and a quick step by step. Then I slip that into a page protector in the proper category. I keep the cards in the protectors with their write up. It's just easier to find them that way. I also write on there which call(s) I've subbed it for and when that call ends.

If I get something picked up, I pull it's info sheet and place it in the front of my binder along with a copy of the contract paperwork and the shipping receipt from the post office.

I keep this in the Expedit right behind my desk so it's easy to grab. It's also really easy for me to bring to crops. I'm also considering a section for challenges and contests but that may need it's own binder.

Now, for my fun news! I got my first layout picked up!  And, it's with Creating Keepsakes!  I'm beyond excited and can't wait to share it. It'll be in the Sept/Oct issue.

Thanks for stopping by!

As my One Little Word is Happy and this comes from the Color Me Happy line, it's only fitting that this tape just makes me squeal with happiness!  I sooooo love it!

Wood Shapes:  Studio Calico Flowers & Leaves

I think these may be just as useful as the star ones that everyone adores!

Love this!  Another Studio Calico pick for me.  These will be great with all the canvas pages in Punky Sprouts albums!!!

Now, it says New & Improved and I think there are a few changes in it's function but for me, the only change that matters is the handle color....aqua!!!!  <3 again="again" an="an" and="and" aqua="aqua" before="before" buy="buy" cough-i="cough-i" cuttlebug-cough="cuttlebug-cough" i="i" in="in" it="it" ll="ll" make="make" nbsp="nbsp" need="need" p="p" said="said" say="say" ve="ve" will="will">

Misc. Embellies:  Crate Paper DIY Shop Photo Overlays

I think these are just the coolest thing released this CHA!  You can Instagram your photos without having to add the photo to your phone, lose resolution, and all that jazz!  Love these!!!

Well, that's just a few of my favs.  To see the rest (and I'll be adding more!) check out my Pinterest board, CHA Winter 2013

Moxie Crafting!

This year, I've got a few crafty goals.  One of which is to participate in more challenges, especially those over on the Moxie Fab blog.  The current challenge over there is the Sweet Dreams Tuesday Trigger.  You are to create a project inspired by this photo.

I'm in love with this color combo and honestly, that room!  Oh, if only I could have a bed that color.  Happy sigh!  Anyway, I created this cute little berry box!

My most recent shopping trip with my mom in December found us at a few stores and one of which had the Quickutz die for this berry box.  I kept picking it up and then putting it back.  Finally, I just went with it!  LOL!

I used quite a few other dies on this project as well.  One from Paper Trey Ink and quite a few from My Favorite Things.

The paper line I used is the Victoria Park line from Lily Bee Designs.  I'm really loving how it turned out and now just need to figure out a good place/purpose for it!

2012 Favorites (Photos and Projects)

And now for the projects and photos that I especially loved this year.

These little notes were from a mini class taught by Kim Watson on the ClubCK website.  I was really pleased with how they turned out and can't wait to make more for Project Life!

I adored this little Christmas organizer and was so excited to use it...until I misplaced it!  I only found it a few days before Christmas so I'll have to use it next year.  It won the Lily Bee Manufacturer's Challenge over at 2Peas, which was pretty exciting for me!

I made this little banner at the beginning of the year and I am still so happy with how it turned out.  I like it more and more each day.  :)

I think this was my favorite mini album of 2012.  I loved the products I used, the photos and the feeling of accomplishment I got from finally scrapping that little trip.

And now for some favorite photos.  These are just a few that I could find as I had an external hard drive crash and I lost a ton of edited photos.  :(

This was one of the first photos I took during my photo class with Maggie Holmes.  I was so happy with how it turned out because Audrey wasn't in the most cooperative of moods that day!

This photo of a friend's husband only exists because I posted my class pics on Facebook and she asked if I'd take pics of her and her husband.  I was so flattered!  I love this pic because he looks like he's having such a good time and men don't normally enjoy photo shoots!

I love this photo of Mickey holding the second tooth he's ever lost.  He was so proud!

Another of Mickey, this one from my class as well.  He was such a good sport about posing for photos for me.  Love my little man!

And, a photo from our little trip to the beach.  Aud loved her first time at the coast and I loved the time spent with a wonderful friend.  (Need that again, soon!!!)

So, there you have it!  Some favorites from 2012.  I'm looking forward to making new favorites this year!

Lunchbox Notes!

On Saturday, Kim Watson taught an online class on the Club Creating Keepsakes website!  I wasn't able to join in right at that time but I did make time for it that evening.  And, oh am I glad I did!

The class was on making 12 little lunch notes!  Mickey doesn't take a lunch as his kindergarten is only half day but he does take a snack, so these will be perfect for that!

I used one sheet of MME paper for the bases and then scraps, washi tape, stamps, punches and rubons for the rest.

I stuck with a fairly fallish pallette and I kept them a little more grown up so I can slip one in Andrew's briefcase every once in a while.  :)

I punched the arrows in the top right card below out of washi tape!  First I adhered them to some scrap paper and then punched and peeled.  Worked well but make sure you peel it off slowly or the tape will tear.

I really love how these turned out and a lot of the gals were talking about how awesome these would be as card fronts or journaling tags or even for Project Life!

Have you taken any online classes lately?
