RAWR!

Feelin a little animal!!!  It seems as if being laid up with back pain has it's perks!!!  RAWR!  This fun nail art was inspired by my upcoming Fun With Alcohol Ink Class on March 3rd at Craft Fusion (class starts at 1 p.m.), check out what we'll be making: In fact... if you loved the nail art above, you might want to consider signing up for this class [hint, hint].  For this class we'll be creating this ADORABLE notebook using various alcohol inks.  You're not going to want to miss this!  Along with learning how to assemble our own notebook using The Cinch and Zutter products, we will also be using alcohol inks to customize our project.  Join us and learn how to color stamped images using alcohol ink markers giving your projects depth and dimension.  Please bring your basic tool kit and alcohol ink markers (any brand) for this instruction.  There are markers to rent, but rental markers are limited so the sets will be available on a first c...

Feelin The Love

Ok... wow!  It's been a while since I've done my nails.  Judging by how short they are, you can probably guess why.  Another reason is the HUGE scar I now wear on my middle finger from when Martha Stewart tried to kill me!  Click HERE for the gory details.  But, with Valentines right around the corner, I couldn't help but do a little Konadicure for the occasion.  Well, that and I did a Konadicure for the Super Bowl (so sorry I didn't get pics before completely trashing my nails at the party... GREAT PARTY by the way!!!) that REALLY needed to go.  A girl can only go so long with all of her nails looking like tiny footballs.  Yah, kinda regretting not posting them.  So that I don't make the same mistake again... here are some cuties. So for my base coat I used Nail Aid's Pink Natural Growth Therapy followed by two coats of OPI's Got a Date To-Knight and then a coat of Seche Vite for a quick dry.  Then I went to Walmart and picked up my ...

Ode To Twilight...AGAIN!

You missed the nail art didn't you?!?  It's been awhile my lovelies!  Mainly because I had a biting relapse, and I don't mean the brooding vampire kind!!!  Luckily I stopped the biting with the help of some TLC and my beloved Nail Aid, now I'm back on track and dippin into the Konad.  With Twilight on the mind since the release of the trailer (click HERE for the vampy/wolfy goodness) for Breaking Dawn, well, you know, it's all I can think about!  So my nails get a little mani with Twilight in mind! Base coat is Nail Aid Peeling Nail Therapy, 1 coat of China Glaze Innocence (kinda fitting here), 1 coat of Seche Vite for quick dry, and Konad image plate M64 with Konad Special Polish in black.  I finished this off by adding some red bling before sealing the whole thing with another coat of Seche Vite. So I'm LOVING this mani!!!  The pink is creamy and ever so subtle making that red bling pop out on top of the black background. ...

RAWR!

OMG... isn't this one CUTE!?! And I gotta say, it TOTALLY matched the outfit that I wore to my sister's bridal shower! That really is just so fun to do! You can do it too!!! Just use discount code "FITTERTWIT" over at OC Nail Art and receive a free image disc with a $30 purchase on top of free shipping!!! Be sure to choose your free image disc at checkout! :) So for this Konadicure, I used my Nail Aid Pink Growth as a base, 2 coats of OPI's Decades of Shades, Konad image plates M57, M61 and M69 using China Glaze's GR8 from their OMG line, one coat of Northern Lights sparkly topcoat and then one final coat of Seche Vite. AWESOME!!! Click on the pic to enlarge. That is all today gang! Happy Sunday!

I Miss My Nails!!!

A little while ago I had some heartbreak, as we sometimes go through in life, and reverted back to NAIL BITING.... DANG IT! I honestly thought I was past that horrible habit that turned my hands from pretty and feminine to tacky and gnarled! I grew up biting my nails only stopping when I had acrylic nails applied as an adult. Then, after the economy took a turn and I couldn't afford professional nail services, I had the gel nails removed (I switched from acrylic to gel because gel ROCKS) and began caring for my own nails. WHAT FUN!!! I grew my natural nails very easily and LOVED nail art.... I REALLY loves me the nail art. So what happened? Why can't I stop biting now?!? I did probably the hardest mani yesterday on the tiniest nubs I've seen in a LONG time!!! I know that darker colors on shorter nails looks awesome, but dark colors on nubs does not simply because the application is IMPOSSIBLE. Hopefully my Nail Aid Ultra Rapid Growth will actually stay on my nails to allow ...

Girly Girl

Have you ever been SUPER busy but didn't really get anything done? I feel like that's been my life for the past two weeks. So I figured I better get a shot of this mani up before I remove the polish. Typically my manis don't make it 5 days before I wanna change the color and with running 100 MPH while standing still... Well, I just better get it in! LOL! So I have gotten SOOOO much length from using the Ultra Rapid Growth from Nail Aid and this thumb nail is here to sing Nail Aid's praises. My nail looks like a false press on nail! HAHAHAHAHAHA! I assure you, it's real! So anyway, I used the Rapid Growth as a base coat followed by ONE coat of China Glaze Pink Chiffon (not lazy, just exhausted). I then put on a coat of Seche Vite for a quick dry before stamping the images from Konad image plates M79 and C01. The polka dots were done in Color Club's Laser Pink and the flowers and kitty were done with Konad's special black nail polish. I topped it all ...

My Private Jet?

Pictured here is my all-time favorite polish... and the picture DOES NOT do this polish justice! This polish is actually a charcoal grey polish with tiny pink speckles in it and it's called My Private Jet by OPI. It actually looks like pink gunmetal... I LOVE this polish more than any other. But the other day, while viewing one of my favorite blogs, I notice that someone else's My Private Jet is a holo... WTH!!! First of all, let me just note here that I DO, in fact, have a holo on my nails here. You can clearly see that the Konad image I stamped on my nails (image plate M7) is a holo while the backdrop of My Private Jet is just speckled. BTW, I did the Konadicure with China Glazes OMG... THE most fabulous holo EVER made and PERFECT for Konadicures!!! But this polish is NOT a holo. And while I certainly love my holos (as much as the next polish addict), the My Private Jet that I own IS NOT one of them and I adore this color above all other colors. Now, my dilemma: Which color i...

Scandalously Evil Angels

These nail blogs.... I'll tell ya!!! Surfing through them can cause a serious need to RUN out and spend money! hahahaha! I saw this mani done by Evil Angel over at Black Nail Polish and Lip Gloss and was inspired, but only after viewing Scandalous over at Scandalously Polished and her AWESOME halos (holos or holographic)! So what's a girl to do? I say COMBINE!!! So here's my "Splattered" mani! I used Konad image plate M9 and Konad's eggplant special nail polish on top of the most GORGEOUS halo I've ever seen. It reminds me of a fire opal! Don't you think? 1 coat Nail Aid Ultra Rapid Growth 2 coats China Glaze's TTYL Topped with Seche Vite Stamped Topped AGAIN with Seche Vite So AMAZING!!! I've been wanting to do this "Splattered" mani for a while and finally got inspired by Scandalously Evil Angels! ;)

TESTING....

So, last week I started my garden (my second one ever!). I found out the hard way that working in the dirt wreaks havoc on natural nails. I am gardening with gloves on this year, but there are just some things (planting seeds and pulling weeds) that are impossible to do with gloves on. This year I made a commitment (wow, really?!? Isn't that a little dramatic? Nah!) to protect my nails until the garden is up and running. I searched last year, long after it was too late , for something to protect my nails and THIS YEAR I think I found it. Thanx to a new friend of mine, who also happens to be a nail technician, I've discovered OPI's Axxium. It is a soak-off sealer for gel nails that MAGICALLY works on polish without puckering or cracking the color below. And let me tell you, I have been through enough gel "polishes", sealers, etc. that ruined the hard work below them to believe that REAL gel topcoats that would work over regular nail polish were probably not in exis...

It's open to my followers only (the greatest people in the world), so if you're not a follower, you're gonna wanna be one! :) Then click on THIS LINK and go to the give-away announcement to leave a comment. Tonight at 11:59 p.m. I will have random.org pick a number and will announce the winner. Good luck to everyone! :) In the meantime... here's some sexy Konadicure goodness. I ADORE those vampie colors! China glaze hit a home run with VII. It's a drop dead gorgeous vampie purplish-brown wine color. This color is IT! Then, to add a little romance to that sexy, I added those flowers with the amazing holo of China Glaze's TTYL from their OMG collection (I love those colors). Yah, I'm wearing this one OUT!!! It's so beautiful. The Konad image disc I used was M20. I have really fallen in love with China Glaze... now, if they could JUST make those brushes larger! *** Base coat is one coat of Nail Aid's Pink Growth Th...

Easter Leopard

Awe! Thanx for the inspiration BabyD... this GORGEOUS Konadicure rocks! I just LOVE that For Audrey polish from China Glaze and I would have NEVER thought of using the leopard image with those color combinations. This turned out WONDERFUL!!! So, the base coat is For Audrey (of course) and the yellow color is China Glaze's Lemon Fizz (on the thumb). The yellow of the remaining digits is Konad's special polish in yellow and the black is also Konad's special stamping polish. This really is a sweet manicure just in time for Easter. I bet this would also look AMAZING with lavender and the Psyche Pink Konad special polish! Oh, wow... I'm going to be giving THAT combo a try before Easter gets here as well. That one will be AWESOME!!! To check out BabyD's wonderful Konadicure... here's the link: Polish And Powder *** Don't forget!!! Tomorrow's the last day to enter the Alice In Wonderland polish give-away!!! Check out the announcement here: Calling All Lacquer H...

Luck o' The Irish

These are my 2010 St. Patty's nails. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that holographic green of China Glaze's L8R G8R. I topped it with a simple Konad Celtic-ish image from image plate M80 in Konad's special green polish. This turned out GORGEOUS! Can you believe that I found this China Glaze halo for $3.50 last year... now THAT'S lucky! It's kinda fitting to be using it on a day like today! :)

Girl Power

Spring Break 2010 and the girls get together for some play time and power mani's! And these Konadicures ROCKED! I'll show each of them and let you know how it was done. For more info on the konad images pictured, check out OC Nail Art and tell Kathleen that FitterTwit sent ya! :) Be sure to click on all the pics to enlarge. I'd also like to say a special thanx to Megan, Gabby, Delaney and Jordyn for being SUPER models for today's post! Ladies... Girl's Day was AWESOME!!! FLOWER POWER What could be MORE IN than neon pink with black beaded flowers? Jordyn says "Nothing!" as she's sportin these totally rad flowers on Color Club's Pink Lust. The image is from Konad image plate M69 done in Konad's black special polish and then topped with Northern Lights holo topcoat. Dazzling Dahling! :) ELECTRIC YOUTH Delaney diggs this green holo polish by China Glaze. L8R G8R was the perfect backdrop for those sweet flowers that seem to POP off those nails. Thi...

Happy 4th of July!!!

Happy 4th of July to all of my American readers!!! Well, I don't have anything planned for this holiday weekend other than hanging out at home and bbq-ing if the weather permits. I can always see the wonderful fireworks from my front yard, although I'm thinking (a little too late) that a block party might have been a ton of fun. Oh well! I am excited to share some fun Fourth of July Konad nail art designs with you. I also wanted to feature the GORGEOUS holiday nail art of my new friend Vanessa over at Casual Lavish ! If you haven't seen her blog yet, you DON'T want to miss it. Her tutorials on nail stamping rock! What am I saying!?! Her entire beauty blog rocks! LOL! I wanna be like her when I grow up. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday weekend! *** Konad plate for picture on the left is M45 and the pic on the right is M44. In the left pic I used a peach tinted clear for a base and on the the right a pink tinted clear. Both konadicures were done with China...

Dark Romance!

Well, just a quick post tonight gang! For some reason I am on a black polish kick lately! I can honestly say, black is one of my favorite colors! And look how pretty (and even understated) black is! But then, of course, black is also dramatic! I was inspired to play with the black after reading Mary's "Dark Romance" at Etsy.com . She writes: Lately I've found myself gravitating toward the idea of a Gothic love story. I've fallen prey to the hit vampire series True Blood , and I'm looking forward to the upcoming sequel to Twilight , a movie series depicting the notion of a forbidden dark love. There's just something mysterious about an unattainable, slightly supernatural romance: am I right, ladies? If you're drawn to a darker aesthetic, I think you might like our Steampunk and Noir style guide. Without further ado, I bring you my Etsyfied interpretation of a dark romance. Wow... she's quite the writer, and we all know how much I LOVE Twilight ! A...

Contest Ends Today!

The nail polish giveaway ends today; the winner will receive the set pictured here!!! Be sure to read This Post and leave a comment answering the question in the post. Be sure to add me to your follow list!!! I will be posting the winner tomorrow! Good luck everyone! Here's a little something special.... I FINALLY got my hands on some fauxnad image plates, and I gotta say... they are almost identical to Konad. In some cases, the images are identical. There are a couple of things that I really love about these plates. The first is that some of the image plates contain mirror images which is VERY helpful when you are wanting to have the nail art placement on both hands look alike. The second is that these plates contain 9 images per plate instead of 7 and cost me around $2/plate (with shipping). The DRAWBACKS: they were VERY hard to find (I found them on ebay), I could not choose the plates that I wanted (they came in a package of 18), the edges of the plates are SUPER sharp (like ...

Deadline For The Polish Give Away is Coming!

So, I really had a "nail art-fest" over the weekend. I really just wanted to play around with a couple of the french tip image discs that I have to hopefully inspire readers who are reading my blog to participate in the polish give away (click this link for details). The give away is a Seche Vite/China Glase polish set. I credit the Seche Vite for my ability to do my nails three times over the weekend with some really great designs! The quick dry topcoat works super fast and is one of my "must haves"! Well, with the deadline fast approaching, let the inspiration begin!
