Some Odd Easle!

**for my Christmas Candy posted today, see the sticky post at the top of my blog**

It's time for another ODD challenge at Some Odd Girl ! First of all I'd like to say WOWZERS MACROLANDI....there were so many wonderful enteries into the recipe challenge last time, I hope we see just as many GREAT creations for this challenge!!!
Our challenge for the next two weeks is as my title says:

EASLE CARDS

I love making easle cards....I think I say that about everything hey!?!?!? Well, it's true. I love making cards PERIOD!! LOL Easles are a great way to make a stand up card with many added details! The top picture is of my card all closed up & the pic below is of my card standing open. I used Balloon Kaylee from Some Odd Girl and paired her with a digital image from  Make It Crafty called Ticket Booth.

I used my Echo Park papers on the base and for the flags. The Flag die cut is from Whimsy. I used some of my Wonder Shows ride tickets that I had left over from July, when there was a fair in town. Talk about saving everything right!

I placed Kaylee on a piece of acetate and attached it at the base,so it looks like she's standing! YAY! I really enjoyed making this card. It was so much fun, although next time I'll put the sentiment opposite the image so it is not hidden!

woops, got two watermarks there! LOL ....must've been tired when I added it!

PS- have you checked out the new Nouveau Girls Blog !! You don't wanna miss all the stuff going on there!

BEFORE I FORGET!!

JUSTWORDZ- relatives week

This is post #2 for today, scroll down for my Fairy Fun Friday DT card

************************************************

HHmmmmmmmmm.............how do I feel today? Well as per my prev. post, I am still sleeping (working nights) and will arise around 5 pm for supper, so I guess I'm tired.
How else am I feeling? I'm a bit melancholy as I am sad to say this is my last post for the JUST WORDZ inspiration DT. It has been a great ride and I have thouroughly enjoyed working with Kim's JUSTWORDZ Everyday stamps. They are so unique and versatile....I only wish I had the time to continue on with Kim over the next 4 months. Sadly I will not be able to as I now have 2 kids in gymnastics & 1 of those kids is also in drama club, kids in the kitchen & Destination Imagination; which means ALOT of afterschool pickups for ol momma dear! LOL

Let's not dwell on the future, though. Let me tell you about today's post. This week we are concentrating on SENTIMENTS FOR RELATIVES. I have opted to make a card for my son for when he starts kindergarten next year. That's how I envisioned this card coming together. It all started with the Saturated Canary Digi Smitty Schoolboy A Ragamuffin whom I instantly fell in love with.
 He's my son.
Yup, that's him.

Then came the amazing sketch at the Pink INK Sketch Challenge & the rest is history! LOL
I HAD to use this paper from  (paper pack escapes me now) that has the little monkeys on it, cuz my kids are 'my monkeys'...........when I haven't seen them for a whole day or even first thing in the morning, the first thing I say to them is "how are my monkeys today?"  I've even caught my middle boy saying it to his younger brother.
I kinda made a sign with my sentiment out of my Tim Holtz grungeboard pieces. I painted them with my crackle paint & hinged it up with jute twine. The postage stamp from Whimsy says it all!
The pics below are some of the finer details.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I've inspired you to get that monkey off your back & onto some paper!

Challenges for my card:
The Stamping Boutique- to someone special
Top Tip Tuesday- layer it up
Saturated Canary Challenge #2- stitching
Pink Ink Sketch Challenge- sketch (see below)

Tickled Pink Challenge #34 - Use Cardboard

YAHOO!! Almost time for the kids to go back to school. We (in Canada) start back on Sept 7! Only a few more sleeps. HAHA! I sound like a kid at Christmas! I will miss them dearly, though....but only a bit!
So to mark this 'back to school celebration of sorts' I have opted to make a bookmark for this week's  Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge
Firstly let me tell you that we want to see you use

CARDBOARD

on your creations!
hhmmm.................let me tell ya......lately I have been all about cutting up my cereal boxes, granola bar boxes, chip boxes...etc, etc and running pieces of them thru my cuttlebug with some dies. I have a container full of shapes, just waiting to get used. I have used my recycled crimped packing cardboard that many of you have seen in some previous posts! Gosh I love that stuff.

So here's a close up of my bookmark using Lil Lad Eric in rubba! I actually WON this stamp by participating in a new release blog hop at the Tickled Pink Store Blog a few months back. I was sooooo happy to have won this guy! He's another one of my fave men!

I have used a whole lotta ribbons from my fave online store Really Reasonable Ribbons. And some of my rubber Whimsy postage stamps along with the postage stamp die. I LOVE THAT DIE.......& yes, they are stamped on cardboard

We'd love to see you come and play along with our TPSC, however you will need a use a stamp from the Tickled Pink Stamp Ranges. IN FACT, the Spinks & Spooks Happy Haunts Collections (Lil Lolita/Lads &  Pinkettes) are up for grabs at the Tickled Pink Stamps Store until Oct 31!! Hurry on over and pick some up!

{{Tickled Pink on Facebook- where there are also challenges & giveaways}}

Thanks for coming by today!

Challenges for my bookmark:

Cards & more- anything but square
Creative Card Crew- anything goes

Black, White & ......can u guess?

"" Merry Christmas to all & to all a Good Nite!! ""
I'm a GDT for the Christmas Stampin All Year Long (CSAYL) blog this week & the challenge over there is to :

USE BLACK, WHITE & ONE OTHER COLOR.

I chose RED as my other color.
The sponsor this week is A Perfect Presentation where they have some fantastic templates & the winner of the challenge will get to choose a template from their store!

I got to choose one of them & I choose this super cute sleigh.
Santa's sleigh.
Magnolia Santa, that is!
hee hee
This is what the sides look like , the other side is 'sans Santa'.
I bet you are wondering how he's standing right.
Well, I left some paper at his feet, which the pictures below depict, & some paper at his hand that is leaning on the sleigh. I folded the paper down behind his hand & then added the same color paper (as the sleigh) to the white parts that showed. So it looks like he's leaning right against his sleigh right!?>!> Then I pasted him there. Permanently.
Cool I know!
The feet, well that isn't so cool, I'm just hiding the white parts on the feet by the presents.

See, Santa is standing with paper folded sideways, like so!
No magic!
I added some white fleecy fluff to the inside of the sleigh, cuz Santa needs to be comfortable you know.

I JUST, JUST, just got this tag die cut  from Whimsy in the mail on Monday, with the help of a Whimsy gift cert I won from a challenge. Now I have a little gift card holder come Christmas time.

Pls head over the CSAYL  blog for some more great inspiration from the rest of the team.
Thanks for stopping by.

Cupcakes Anyone?

Interested in my b-day candy- CLICK HERE- for current followers only

Hey everyone I am back with another GDT card for the Corrosive Challenge. Wowzers we had some great entries for last weeks birthday challenge! Now you may think I forgot to post this for last weeks challenge cuz this definitely is a b-day card, however this week at Corrosive we want to see your :

CUPCAKES!

I was sooooooooo worried I didn't have anything 'cupcaky' to do for this challenge, then when Lori posted a card with this little guy on it, I remembered I had won the whole set of rubber stamps from the last Whimsy hop, including this little fella! Isn't he KA-YOOT!?!? This is the first time he has saw ink......& he is called Cupcake Bliss by Chrissy Armstrong & is available here.
I also remembered a piece of paper I stole from my friend Trisha, with all these cupcakes, cakes & party themed designs on it! The happy birthday letters are chipboard pieces & the funky ribbon is something i've had FOREVER, since I started scrapbooking when you think you need everything, right, well I needed that ribbon. lol

I'm trying to show you my sparkly accents in the picture below. lol I embossed the green nestie shape with my happy birthday embossing folder & the doily behind pups there, is actually the corners from a big square doily, cut & pasted to make a small one .

Pls pop over to the Corrosive Challenge Blog to see what the rest of DT has prepared for you today! I guarantee you, it is scrummy, delish!

Challenges for my card:

Something a bit different!

I was so inspired by my sons' creation at preschool the other day, that I just had to try it.
So this is what he made.

An egg decorated with colored egg shells left over from Easter. I thought it was so eyecatching & immediately pictured
those colored egg shells on a pair of fairy wings.

So I used my all time favorite image from Prairie Fairy Designs called TipToe Fairy to accomplish my egg shell fairy wings. Now the wings probly would have looked better with a bit of yellow, but we did not use any yellow colors on our eggs this year..... crazy right?

It was so much fun to put these egg shells on, almost like a puzzle. Oh how I miss being a kid!
I also used some of my long lost fabriccy type papers to help my fairy stand out.
Tag sentiments are from Whimsy.

Challenges for my card:
PaperPlay- use an object not intended for crafting
Stamp with Fun- lace or ribbon
Creative Craft- recycling
Stamp Something- things with wings
Papertake Weekly- sketch (see below)

Totally Tilda DT- Fruity Tilda

I'm trying something a little different with my picture taking. I see people take pictures as above and am always in AWE of it, so I have been trying to do this for some time! Whatcha think

************************************

It's Totally Tilda time again! What do we have up our sleeves this time?!
The title of my post says it all:

FRUITY TILDA

We want to see Tilda in all her glory with all her fruityness surrounding her!
I chose this image of Tilda holding cherries to match the digital DP that was supplied to us by  Best Cardmaking Downloads , who is also our sponsor this time round!   Nicky was kind enough to give the Totally Tilda Design Team her yummy Cherry and Peach downloadable papers to work with. The more I use digi papers, the more I want to buy ALL the CDs out there!

I placed our lovely Tilda on a digital fence I won from Whimsy.  It is called "Garden Fence Background" by Meljens. I knew I wanted to do exactly this when I chose this image.
My flowers are from WOC. Butterfly charm......hhmmmm can't recall where I got that! lol
Sentiment is from SU. Ribbon is from a misc stack o' ribbons I got AGES ago!

C'mon, get Tilda looking all frooty-patootie and head on over to the Totally Tilda Challenge.

Challenges for my card:
MDU- flower power
Sweet Stampin- Oh so girly
Paper Sundaes- how charming
Frosted Designs- FAB Friday- use metal
The Crafty Pad- something yummy for your tummy
Colour Create- fruit & photo inspire (see below)
