Happy Birthday...

Morning folks,

My first post since returning from our holiday which was great although I caught covid when I was away so the last couple of days was a bit rubbishy however the weather was fab and we did cram in lots of beach walks....can't wait to go back in December and next May, here's a couple of photos...

My nephew had his telescope and we managed to see a few stars and even saw the craters in the moon but he managed to take a photo of saturn through his telescope...it was quite amazing!

It's time for the mid month post over on the Stamping Sensations Challenge Blog.  The theme this month is anything stamped goes with the option of garden delights.

This month the prize up for grabs is £25 Stamp Addicts voucher.

I thought I would try something different....so I stamped the poppies onto grey polka dot paper using red and black.  I stamped the verse also on the same paper then layered it onto black card and then layered on the card panel.  I added a birthday sentiment and some dots and sequins to finish.

Happy birthday...

Morning folks,

Well I've had a busy few weeks with work and trying to sort my dads house but getting there, hopefully everything will be all done in a few weeks. I have also been clearing out Holly's bedroom...she found her own place so I am having a bigger craft room...hope to have that all finished before the winter...might even treat myself to some new crafty things....yay!

It's time for another challenge over on the Stamping Sensations Challenge Blog.

The theme this month is "anything goes" with the option of "summer flowers".

We have two prizes this month, the first is a £25 store voucher from Crafty Individuals and the second is two dies from Highlight Crafts

For my card I stamped and embossed this little flower stamp and then added some watercolours, I built up several layers to make it quite vibrant, I then added the background of some blue tones for the sky and green for the grass, I dabbled some pink  highlights to give the effect of flowers in the background. I die cut the sentiment and added some sequins to finish.

Love...

It's time for another challenge over on the Sweet Stampin Challenge blog.  The theme is love/valentine.  Now I'm normally not into love cards...when you reach a certain age, it's just another day lol!  Anyway I found a website with fab stamps so I had to buy a few and the background on this card was one of the new stamps... it's stamped in layers with different colours to build .up the pattern.  I added the die cut Love on top and then I thought I would add a little stamped you.

I wanted to use this little Santa and then I had a brainwave that I would make Santa look like he's bursting through the wall...well that was the plan in my head!

I used a brick wall stencil from MFT and the Santa from the Jingle all the way set from MFT too.  I coloured the Santa with copics, added some white glitter to his beard and fur...finished with the usual sequins etc.

A little rainbow

Happy Sunday everybody!

So there's a few things I can't resist and that's snowmen stamps and dies and rainbow stamps and dies...I do have so many of each but haven't had the chance to use many of them.  Anyway this is a new die from MFT and I just love it.

I de cut the rainbow several times and in various colours (took me forever) and then layered 5 cuts of each colour together to give it more of a 3D effect.  The sentiment is also from MFT, not sure it is actually to go with the rainbow but I did think it was appropriate.

I stamped the image using archival ink and then coloured with copics. I die cut the little frame and stamped the sentiment on the bottom and then layered it onto the card.  I doodled around the edges to finish.

Some sweet succulents...

Howdy folks!

I am still trying to get my mojo back and when I saw there was a wee competition on the My Favourite Things Card Blog, I thought it would give me something to get stuck into...

The first card is for the Clean & Simple Genius category...

First I inked up a couple of the stamps using black memento ink, onto the panel and then added some splodges too.  I stamped one of the stamps and pots onto a scrap piece of white card and coloured using copics.  I then fussy cut and layered them together and layered onto the panel using sticky fixers.  I stamped one of the sentiments and white embossed then die cut using the pennant die.  I then fixed to the panel.  I layered onto black card and then onto the blank card.  I finished with some sequins.

Products used: MFT Sweet Succulents, MFT Distressed Patterns and MFT Stitched Pennants

The second card is for the Colouring Virtuoso category...

I had to make this card using my favourite technique...white embossing and watercolouring!
First I white embossed several of the images, but I did mask each of them so I could overlay them.  I then added colour using my zig clean color brush pens (which I love), I added some shading around the images.  I then added some splodges and sequins.  I also doodled around the edges and added the stamped sentiment.

So it's a beautiful day...

Hi folks...as you know I have been out of action for some time but just getting back into the swing of things and what better than with one of my favouritest stamp sets...Beautiful Day from Altenew.

Using my zig clean colour brush pens I added lots of colour to the flowers and leaves, I then loaded a brush with lots of water a d brushed over the coloured flowers....this gave a softer look and also gave some colour to the text.

Once dry I added some coloured splits, I then left it to dry before I added the black ink splodges.

I then stamped the sentiment and white embossed and I did cut the "you" 3 times and glued them together.

I added these to the card and also added some sequin, pearls and gems to finish...hope you likey!

Happy Birthday...

Howdy everybody...it's Fi here with today's post!  It's late, but as they say better late than never..

For this card I used the MFT Happy Birthday Background stamp and the MFT Beautiful Butterflies, I white embossed the background on watercolour card. I then stamped distress ink onto a piece of acetate, I loaded my brush with water and lifted the ink and washed it randomly over the embossed writing.  I didn't want to cover it all.  I inked up the butterfly with distress inks aswell and cut out.  I used sticky fixers to layer the butterfly and the sentiment. The sentiment is from Altenew Label Love.
I finished with some ink splodges and sequins.

My Mum's Craft Shop DT Card

Good morning everybody, today I'm sharing my DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop.

For today's card I have used MFT - Wavy Colouring book Background stamp, I bought this before Christmas but didn't get round to using it until now....I think it's quite trendy.

I stamped and white embossed the stamp and the randomly coloured using my zig clean color brush pens.  I then added a wash of water over the full image which blended out the colour making it quite soft and subtle.

I then die cut the sentiment which is also from My Favourite Things called Hello Beautiful.  I added a few sequins to finish.

It's a Beautiful Day...

Hi folks, a wee card from me today!

I have been waiting so long for this this stamp set to be back in stock and couldn't believe it when I noticed it was available in My Mums Craft Shop.

Now initially I was trying to stamp and cut out the images with my scan n cut but was having a bit of trouble however the lovely Janine and Cass soon sorted me out but that card is work in progress so in the meantime I made this one.

I white embossed the flower and leaves and then watercoloured them using my zig clean colour brush pens (omg I love these pens).  I gradually added more layers of colour and then once I was happy I then dragged out some of the colour from the flower and leaves to add a bit of subtle shading around the images.  I stamped the sentiment with black ink and layered on top.

I then added some black splodges, sequins to finish.

Love & Thanks

Hi folks, today I am sharing my tutorial for Spectrum Noir.
First I coloured a piece of watercoloured card using Marine, Bud Green and Kingfisher Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers.

I laid background aside to let it dry and stamped and white embossed the trees.

Next I coloured some sections of the trees randomly using Moss Green and Cobalt Spectrum Aqua Marker.  I then loaded my brush with water and brushed over each of images.

I gradually added more colour until I got the required shade and so it would stand out against the background.

Next I cut out each of the images, being extra careful not to cut off any of the white embossing.

I laid the trees aside and moved back to the background, now that the background has dried I added some splashes of water, the water reactivates the color.

Next i added some splodges.

And then I thought the background would look extra cool with some additional splodges so I white embossed a few more splodges.

I then added sticky fixers and layered the trees onto the card, added some pearls, gems and sequins and of course the sentiment.
