Handwoven Felted Recycled Wool Sweater Rag Rug .

New listing for me today! Gorgeous rich vibrant wool rug. I am however having trouble portraying the rich gorgeous colour in my photos. I find it hard to photograph red, and have it be true to the real thing.

Felted Wool Sweater Rug!

I spent the afternoon and evening yesterday weaving, as I do most days, trying to build up my inventory for when the July issue of Style At Home comes out. One of my rugs, just a photo is featured as the editors pick for the page We Love It!
This is a beautiful cheerfully bright rug! I do love the colours together, I love colour. I love working with colour.

close up!
I spent the afternoon in the greenhouse planting flats of sunflowers and pole beans. I had been chilly in the house, it was a hot and steamy 38°C in there, it didn't take my long to warm up. Love it, that heat, the greenhouse, thinking about summer coming.

Blues, Greens and Stripes

I finished a rug this evening, I had been working on it for a few days. I must say it is one of my all time favourites! I love green and blue especially with muted earthy tones. I also love striped and patterned sweaters. I love love love the way they intermix and play together. Fascinating patterns and colour mixes. Funny how excited I get about colour! This rug is a beauty.

Handwoven Felted Wool Sweater Rug

Yesterday I finished the second rug from my new bales of sweaters! It is always fun and a challenge at the same time,  to work with the colours I get in the bales.
This rug is a glorious combinations of blue, plum, purple, and rust!

Sun Catcher

I have been playing with copper chain and translucent and transparent beads. I have made a few sun catchers, they are upscale catchers, I have used some gorgeous beads in them. I got a new order of beads in today and in the packet were these pretty brass enameled dragonflies. The dragonfly looks very pretty dangling from the bottom of the catcher. (Mark thought I should call them dangly downers, he was kidding, hehe!!)

Copper Buri Blues

Wow, November already.. my countdown has started to my birthday. I love my birthday..funny how I seem to need a reason to celebrate life... well this is my day to celebrate my life... and counting.. down..
I heard yesterday that the aggressive little fox was captured and will be transported out of town to the woods. He had been chasing people.. obviously someone must have been hand feeding him, as he has no fear of humans. Poor little beast. I hope he will be okay in the woods as he is a town fox. He may find his way back here.

A new listing on Etsy for me this morning. I guess most of my pieces have an earthy feel to them, even the one I think are elegant. Earthy elegant... maybe it has its place.

copper buri blues

Copper chain, with gorgeous pale blue freshwater pearls, and reddish brown buri beads. I had to do some research after I got these buri beads, as they are wood, but they sure feel like plastic .. they are made from palm tree seeds. They really are wood and not plastic.

Red... Balls of Blue

Weird name for a pair of earrings maybe... it fit at the time.
My listing of the day....

...the day, deafening quiet here today. I miss Lu's funny breathing he developed from his tumors. The house was too quiet for my liking. I miss him so much.

red.... balls of blue

We heard this morning that an old family friend passed away yesterday. It feels like never ending sadness.
