Birthday Cards...Warning Picture Heavy

Hello my crafty friends, May is flying by already! At this rate, summer will be over before we know it. It already goes by way to fast. Our weather is still all over the place. Over the weekend, we were in the 90's and now.....back to the 60's. Lots of rain as well. You'd think it was April, not May. Mother Nature is so confused. lol Anyway, I hope you are having nice weather where you are at.

I have some birthday cards to share. Been making some to add to the stash as it was getting low. I also wanted to play with the sliced circles that everyone is layering and adding to their cards, just for something different. I'm not sure what this design is called, concentric circles maybe?? Some I put sentiments on the outside and some I'm still thinking about whether I want an outside sentiment or just the inside sentiments. And I had another sympathy card go out...again.

Still trying to use up the cute papers I printed a few years ago! I am almost through them all.

This begins these halved circle cards. I didn't do this one the right way, but didn't want to waste the circles, so used them anyway. Still gives a cute look I thought. So you will see a few not done in the right way...if there is a right way.

I think I got the circles half way right with this one. lol

This one I think I got these circles right...well almost anyway. It looks like they aren't aligned right, but in real life they aren't off this much!

                                                                    Half right

Again, half right with these circle, but till think it makes a cute card.

Last one done in this style. It is navy blue and gray. Made it for a guy who does Civil re-enacting. Even though he is "for" the North side, I used both the south and north colors. Kept it very simple since it was a masculine card. Hard to tell, but I did emboss the background with a subtle SU embossing folder.

Not crazy over this one, but it isn't real bad either.

Lastly, my sympathy card. The people this card went to were very outdoorsy people, so thus why this design. I was pleased with how this one came out.

And the inside. I had cut a strip off my panel and used it on the inside of the card.

Gosh, if you stuck with me this long.....a huge thank you!!!! As always, I thank you for taking the time out of your busy day and visiting a spell with me. I know everyone is super busy, nice weather makes one want to be outside and of course doing outside work. I'd rather be mowing that shoveling snow! Your comments always bring sunshine to my day and put pep in my step. If I haven't been by to see you, I hope to be soon! I had a fall from air freshener fall out on the floor, made my feet come out from under me, landing flat on my back. Been healing for over a week now and I am making progress thankfully. So again, I will be around, not sure I will catch up on every post you might have, but will do my best. This is the first time I've been able to have  my laptop in my lap and able to sit up and not in a reclined position. I am getting there slowly but surely!

Comfort Card, Memphis Photo's

Hello my crafty friends, I hope your Tuesday is off to a great start. It is a busy week here between the dogs and outings.

I have the card to share that I made to for the family that lost two children in the auto accident. The more I hear about this accident the more I pray for this family. The one child that wasn't killed instantly, the family donated her organs to go help other children to live. Such a selfless act on behalf of the family and at such a difficult time to make this selfless act. I can't even image. It was hard enough losing my beloved DH, but to lose a child and not just one child, but two-again I just can't even imagine! I hope this card and others helps bring come comfort to them all. It looks better in person too. Not sure why it doesn't look as well here on the screen. Such as it is.

Left the inside mostly blank except for this sentiment because I wanted to write in the card.

Thanks for all your advice on my Christmas card from Sunday. I am going to see how a sentiment will look on it by holding one up on vellum or the stamp. If I don't like it I will leave it as is.

Oops, I published before I put in my photo's from Memphis. What a great time Memphis was. Loved getting to "know" Elvis better in Memphis. He really was a wonderful man and good to so many people. They adore him in Memphis as they should!

Sun Studio's where Elvis recorded his first record, "That's Alright Mama".  Edited to say that Elvis's first recording wasn't "That's Alright" it was "My Happiness". "That's Alight" was the first recording that was played on the radio.

The restaurant where Elvis loved to eat. I wanted to try his Peanut butter/banana sandwich, but wouldn't you know they ran out of banana's and came back and asked me to order something else. Will be making it here at home to try it! You mash your banana and mix with the peanut butter and spread on toast. Then you melt some butter and grill the toast. We will be how it taste here when I buy some banana's. lol  So I ended up order french toast and it was the best french toast I've ever had! And grits of course, have to have my grits when down south as well as at home.

This street was similar to the one in Nashville, a party street, only we didn't come down in the evening when it was hustling and bustling. The tour guide told us as the evening fell, children had to be home and it was adult time then. Curfew for children in Memphis.

St. Judes, a statue of Danny Thomas and his children.

Graceland. Can't go to Memphis without going to Elvis's home. I love it. I love that it wasn't over the top huge, but still big. The rooms were comfortable and elegant. The jungle room was interesting but fun. The pool room where the pool table was was interesting too. If you want to see and know about the history of Graceland, this is a great video to watch. You will see the inside of the house. We weren't allow up in the private area's of the home upstairs, but they do show Elvis's bedroom in this video.

A huge tourist attraction in Memphis as well. The Pyramid. It houses a huge Bass Pro shop in it as well as a hotel of cabins! See that white balcony at the top? You can pay $10 to go up there and walk out on it, it has a glass bottom. Thanks but no thanks! lol

Again so much to see and do in Memphis, so this is just a little taste of the city. I hope you enjoyed it. I know I love being there and would love to go again someday if able. If not, I am very thankful to have been blessed to go!

As always thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit me. Your comments always bring much joy and sunshine into my life and I appreciate you all. I will be by once again soon. Getting behind already! What's new there?! lol But I will be by to visit at least for one post if not more soon.

Twofer Challenge-Leaves

Hello crafty friends, I know some of you are in the path of Hurricane Florence and I pray you are safe and sound. Let's pray for the ones who didn't evacuate and for the first responders as they try and rescue the ones who didn't leave. I'm praying for my family who lives 14 miles from Myrtle Beach in Conway. I've texted my cousin, but haven't heard back from her. Going to try and text another cousin and see if I hear from him as I know he has a generator cause we rode out Hurricane Charlie at his house. So please pray for those in the path of this hurricane!

Well I decided to try and join in on the Twofer Challenge which is leaves. Great prompt word as the leaves will start changing around here come Oct. Some are changing now the farther north you go. So here are my twofer's. Let's have a closer look shall we? I used some NBUS too. Am I the only one that has piles of NBUS for years?! I hope not!!

This card is a simple card. I just stamped my leaves in different color inks and cut my panel down, added a brown snippet and glued her down. I think this sentiment is cute so I made this into an encouragement card.

I used the Gina K Wreath Builder stencil to make this one. Using the same leave, I stamped it in two colors as I made my way around the wreath stencil. Then went back in and stamped the outline on top in gold embossing powder. I also put the gold around the panel as well as the sentiment. Splattered some brown splatters. Got a little busy, but I think I like it. Made this one a Thanksgiving card.

Tilted to show the gold embossing.

Well that's it for me. If the pup behaves, I'd like to enter a few more challenge. Will see how that goes. lol As always my list of supplies will be down in the card recipe second below. We have had dreary days with some rain, so your comments actually bring me sunshine to my dreary days, for that I thank you! I will be around to visit you too, although I'm slow at times but will get there! The hurricane isn't to effect us until Monday into Tuesday with moderate to heavy rain. As if we need more rain! But it could be worse, so I'm trying not to complain to much. lol Have a wonderful weekend my crafty friends and please keep those in the Carolina's in your prayers.

PS: I did hear from my one cousin and they are riding out the storm. They have a generator so that is good. Not sure about my other cousins, aunts and uncle. Hopefully everyone is well but she asked for me to keep them in my prayers, which I will most certainly will!

Hello Crafty friends, yesterday started a new Twofer Challenge. For this month the challenge word is "hearts" February is a great month to use hearts in isn't it?! But remember to go over to the Twofer Challenge blog and read the rules. I think I have it straight this month. lol I looked through Pinterest to get inspired and I did, along with a new stamp set that I just got in the mail. So here are my the "hearts" I used and my two difference designed cards and different occasions cards.

I will list all my supplies in the card recipe down below. Thanks so much for stopping by this grey day and visiting with me a spell. As always your comments bring much needed sunshine to my life.

NBUS Challenge

Hello my crafty friends! Well months have passed again without any posts or comments from me. I'm very sorry, blogging just hasn't been my thing right now. As I've said before, mowing and taking care of the outside keeps me busy as well and even though I'm not looking forward to winter coming, I am looking forward to no outside maintenance. lol I have also been struggling with being anemic (from my fall and broken ribs, had internal bleeding)-so very tired and sleepy and just feeling funky. But I put myself on iron pills, went through this several years back so knew what to do, and the iron pills are helping. Just gonna take time to build myself back up. I am trusting in the good Lord that he will heal me and keep me going.

I have come cards for you today. The same but different if you know what I mean. They are all sympathy cards, been making way to many of them here of late! I wish I could say that I was just mass producing these for my stash, but I wasn't. I needed 3 for family members so I kept them similar just changing the sentiment on the front and the flower. Saw this idea on Pinterest, so  NOT my idea at all. I used distress oxides for my "sunsets". First time bleeding with them and how I am loving them. Only stamped with them before which I love them for stamping as well. As always my recipe will be down below. I used a NBUS stamp set as well so I think if I hurry I can get in under the wire for Darnell's NBUS challenge. I believe and could be wrong, that today is the last day of it.

Well that is it for me today. Not sure when I will be back around right now. My life just seems to be moving in a different direction right now. I do look to see what you have been up to, just not commenting. For that I'm sorry, like I said just to much going on and just struggling to keep up with life. Winter might change that though. As always I thank you for your sweet comments, they really do mean the world to me but understand when you can't comment. Just taking the time to stop by is wonderful to me as I'm not a "number's" gal.

They all say the same thing on the inside.
