They are fly masks. All the horses have them on when we are not using them. To prevent flys from bugging their eyes

Tootsie came down with horsey version of pink eye. Our vet said fly masks for all were the best insurance policy we could take so that we didn't have a whole herd of gooey eyes. Apparently, flies lay some little baby flies in the horses' eyes. (Poet and didn't know it!)

It really is sad to see the flies attacking them. Annoying creatures, those grown up maggots!
