Oliver: learning to trace and draw shapes. Thinks there are monsters outside and is using his imagination to scare him. Diaper free all of the time now and dry all night! Loves to help mop the floor. He loves to sing and listen to music.
Hazel: Is happy almost all of the time. Doesn't want to sit up because she would rather be on the ground rolling. Her favorite toy is the crinkly sounding wipes container. Favorite food is sweet potato and oatmeal. Wakes up once (sometimes twice) at night to nurse. Loves being down on the ground rolling and playing. Loves her daddy best of all.
Tony: Playing basketball and ultimate once a week. Has a new responsibility (calling) at church with the 14-15 year old boys in the scouting program.
Adrianna: Spends free time baking, exercising, trying to learn how to take better pictures, and daydreaming of the ways she can decorate her house. Spends most of her time actually doing the laundry.

Oliver turns 2!
Our little guy just turned TWO!! (a year ago... hello old blog that I never keep up!) So hard for us to believe. As he is still obsessed with anything that "goes", we had a little transportation themed get together with a couple of friends. I kept things small because Oliver seems to like it better that way. And let's be honest... I am such a grumpy old lady... I get all anxious about at the idea of kids breaking stuff or making a mess. Smaller numbers help me relax and enjoy. I think everyone had a great time, especially the birthday boy!
kids are an excellent form of entertainment!
While driving around and following the GPS, Oliver used to just repeat the directions from the GPS. Now, after the directions are given he says, "that's what it says to us!"
In the summer when grandma was visiting, she was leaving a message with her phone number. We have the same area code. After she was finished, Oliver said, "no grandma.. It is 210-...-.... thanks, bye!" He corrected her and told her my cell phone number. I thought it was hilarious that he caught on to my number from hearing me leave it in messages.
Heard from the backseat in November of 2013: "Be careful Mama! Don't crash! Are you driving the speed limit?"
Oliver: Mama, my foot fell asleep and it won't wake up. Wake up foot!
Mama: Is it listening to you Oliver?
Oliver: No, it is making bad choices. Time out foot!

A little announcement...
We are thrilled to share that we are expecting our second baby in April 2013!
We didn't find out the gender at the ultrasound, but we did find a healthy looking baby in there! We can't wait to meet this little boy or girl and welcome them into the Hwang clan.
See you in three months little kiddo!
Oh.. and kindly come on time or early. That way we can have different birthdays and eat more cake. If you are one day past your due date, you'll share a birthday with mama! Which, wouldn't be so bad I suppose! :)

Oliver at 17 months
This little fella? Well, he is 17 months old now.
Completely hard to believe in all honesty. Oliver has blossomed from baby to toddler to walking, talking toddler so quickly. In the past two months he has just grown up so much. A few facts:
-he weighs 25 pounds
-favorite foods: cheese, peas, chicken, any kind of pizza, mac and cheese, blueberries, and yogurt
-favorite toys: cars and trucks ( the same two hot wheels double fisted at all times unless he is eating or sleeping or at the gym childcare.. where he immediately finds two cars to hold)
-favorite words: car, truck, mama, daddy, outside, up, snack, tube, ball, sock, shoe
- he has a vocabulary of about 75 words. Communicating with him is getting so much fun!
-Oliver has just started to count, he doesn't get all the numbers down in order but it is so cute
-he sings his favorite songs with me and even gets some of the words right
We think this little guy is pretty awesome. We love you buddy!
i've got a crush...
...on San Francisco. Seriously. Maybe it was just that I was staying in an adorable apartment, in a wonderful part of town, with my parents treating me to fabulous food and entertainment, but I sure do love that city. Like, let's sell all of our crap so we can move into a tiny place and live the city life. I can't stop daydreaming about how that would be. And it's been a few months since the trip.We went in February. Yes, I should have posted these a long time ago....
So! Let's re-experience it together, shall we?

Post-plane snacks while riding BART
Hey guys! Let's all ride the cable cars!
Chatting with daddy... he missed all the fun!
Lounging around the apartment, about to head out for our morning walk
Everyday began with a walk to breakfast with gorgeous views, crisp air, and lots of things for Oliver to see. I think he said "car" one hundred million times throughout our trip.
Look mama! Fish!!
At the aquarium
Shoe shopping with mama and grandma. Grandma kept showing him sparkly shoes to distract him while I shopped. :)
Discovering his love for pomegranate seeds!
Cruising around the bay
It was super windy!
Hello there!
Oliver loved riding the buses and cable cars. Which was awesome because we did it everyday.
At the California Academy of Sciences
More fish!
Playtime with the grandparents
Staring out at the city below.
See? You think we should move there too, don't you? That's what I thought.
