This makeover began several months ago,
and as much as I'd like to say "it's finished," that isn't entirely true.
Things are always changing around here.
I'm always moving pictures, pillows, and blankets around.
I'm always painting something here, and fixing something there.
But, I will say that I think we've reached a good resting place. . . for now.
This makeover has been a big learning experience for me.
I learned to sew piping on pillows.
I learned that you can find treasures at thrift stores.
I learned how to reupholster a wing chair.
I learned how to sew a button hole.
I learned not to rush into choosing fabric.
I learned that Ikea has really good, inexpensive picture frames (almost as cheap as a thrift store)
I learned that I am not decisive.
I learned that painting a wall a lighter shade of blue is totally worth it if it makes you happy.
I learned that you can still make things look nice even when you have a messy toddler.
I learned that my husband is really patient, and encouraging of my "hobbies."
I learned that when I want "help" from someone it mostly means I just want support.
I learned that I like others' opinions, but I don't need to rely on their opinions.
I learned that I have no one to please but me and my family.
I learned that having different textures creates depth and interest.
I learned that things don't always have to match.
I learned that redecorating doesn't have to be expensive.
I learned that I can create things if I put my mind to it.
I learned that I don't want a big home someday.
I reaffirmed that creating a beautiful home helps me feel peaceful, patient, and loving.
Most of all I learned that I
really. love. creating.
And now for the big reveal!
Drum roll please!
(and now most of you are saying "oh please")
Here she is before
And here she is after!
Finally, just because I always like to see
some good before and after comparisons...
