Trick or Treat Card

Hi again.

Yesterday, I posted this card and project which were published in the Fall issue of Paper Creations magazine.  I liked the Halloween tube, but didn't really have a need for it once it came back from the magazine.  So I took it apart and used the tag to make a card instead.

The paper is from Authentique, Enchanted.  Gems are from the $ store.
I quite like this as a Halloween card.

Thanks for dropping by,

Happy Thanksgiving!

We're having beautiful weather today, nice to have a 3 day weekend.  Canadian Thanksgiving seems to come so early, I'm probably more ready for it in November...but the fabulous meal and the great family memories are welcome any time of the year.

I didn't make any Thanksgiving cards this year, so here are a couple of Halloween projects.

Both of these are published in the current issue of Paper Creations Magazine, page 72-73.  :)

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Halloween Duo

This weeks' challenge at Less is More (week 84) is the dreaded one layer card challenge.  It is dreaded by me because I literally have to stop myself from adding layers and bling and ribbon.  But I persevere with these challenges mainly because it is a challenge, and that's the whole point of it...and because the more I do them, the easier they seem each time.  :)

So here is my one layer card:

I painted the circle freehand with Twinkling H2O's (Ginger Peach) then stamped a Skipping Stones Design pumpkin onto it with StazOn ink.  This is a set from 2006, I think it's retired.  I then painted the pumpkin with Spiced Pumpkin Twinkling H2O's and the leaves with Green Tea.  The sticker is from Jack-o-Lantern from SRM.

My next project is for the challenge at CAS-ual Friday Blog (CFC 69) to use embossing on your card/project.

The tube is from SRM.  patterned paper is from Echo Park, The tag is an old one I found in my drawer from Cuttlebug.  It has the die cut and the embossing folder together making it so easy to use.  I embossed a second tag, painted it with Ginger Peach, cut it out and adhered it with foam adhesive on the tag.  The jute twine is from May Arts and I even set an eyelet for this...fun...I haven't used my eyelets for a long time.

Here is the set.  Fun project to do.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you're having a good start to the week.

Happy Halloween

So it's Halloween again!  It seems to come faster and faster each year.  We still get excited about it at our house even though our girls are older.  The decorations come out, the scary music is on and the treats are ready by the front door, just waiting for the trick-or-treaters.

We made some fun treats for Dana's classroom.  She's student teaching in a grade 4/5 class this year.  I saw this on Pinterest and loved this idea!

Aren't they cute?  All she needed were chocolate covered cookies, Hershey Kisses and orange icing to make these fun witches hats.

On to today's card...Not too long ago, I joined The Card Swap forum at CardMaker Magazine.  It has been a lot of fun to get involved in another group.  This really reminded me of the Simply Sentiments magazine board from years ago.  The ladies are friendly and there are a lot of fun and creative things going on.  Check it out if you get a chance.

I made this card for one of the challenges on the forum.

Since it's Oldie Moldie Monday (where I give love to some long forgotten supplies), I found some good oldies in my Halloween stash!  The green paper is from Karen Foster, the pumpkin face and sentiment are old My Mind's Eye.  I googled the Jack-O-Lantern image and then did my best to copy it.   The googly eyes are from our craft stash.

And if you want to hear all about my favorite Halloween costume (and who doesn't?? :)), check out the CardMaker Magazine blog.  They were very nice to ask me to share a few memories along with some of their regular contributing  designers.

Thanks for dropping in.  I hope you have a fun Halloween!

It's Tuesday...

Lately, I'm all mixed up with my days.  My work schedule has recently changed and I keep having to remind myself what day it is.  Funny how a small change in routine can mess you up like that!

My first card is based on the challenge at CAS-ual Friday blogspot to use monochromatic color scheme with 3 different shades of the same color and brown.  It's also based on the sketch challenge this month at Lily Pad Cards.

The tag is from K & Co, embossing folder is from Stampin' UP!/Sizzix, stamp is from Papertrey Ink.

The next card for the color challenge at The Play Date Cafe (PDCC 100), the Kraft Journal blog to use witches, ghosts or goblins with Kraft paper.  It's also for the Create: blog to use 3 different edge border punches.

Patterned paper is form Stampin UP!,  My Mind's Eye, and Echo Park.  Stickers are from SRM.  Border punches are from Stampin' UP!, EK Success and Fiskars.  The image...well I wish I knew where it came from.  It was loose in my Halloween pack of supplies.  If I find the source, I'll add it here.

Thanks so much for dropping by today...oh and I wanted to share that CardMaker Magazine has just introduced a new blog.  Check it out CardMaker Blog.

Fall is in the air

We have an apple farm just a few minutes from our house. I made a quick stop in there last week to buy apples. We'll have to make sure we go back soon to actually pick some apples. I love visiting the farm, the colors of fall are just spectacular!

Now that Fall is here and the girls are back at school, I'm excited to have some time to craft. Fall colors are my all time favorite to work with. Have you seen the October issue of Crafts 'n things yet? Tons of great card and craft inspiration in there. I'm excited to have a card in this issue in their new Crafting for a Cause feature. My story is right there on page 91. Let me know if you've seen it.

Finally, I had some time today to make a card using my favorite colors. This is based on this week's 2S4Y sketch. Love this sketch, so easy to create with.

The paper is Lush from My Mind's Eye, the image is digital from Tuscan Rose sentiment rub on is from Making Memories and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. I also used foam squares and Glue Dots.
Thanks for stopping by...hope you have a wonderful Fall weekend.

Go Batty, Get Ghoulish!

During the month long birthday celebration on Cococat's Cardmaking site, one of the challenges is to alter something. This pen holder is from the $ store, altered for Halloween. I found the black netting at the Goodwill store last year.
Come on over and have a look at all the fun challenges happening on our friendly little message board and join in the fun.

Patterned paper: Stemma
Rub on transfer spider: Bo Bunny
All other rub on transfers and ribbon: Martha Stewart Crafts
