Lotstodo Challenge - Inchies

I used one of the cute little partitioned boxes available from Crafty Individuals to create my piece. I first painted it all over with Granite Paint and when dry highlighted the texture with Black Soot Distress Ink. I made my inchies with Stampbord - inked stamped and edged with Krylon. I added these to the box and finished off by adding my hanger which is a ring pull

Beeswax frame

I covered a wooden frame with lots of beeswax - used my heatgun to soften it a little and then stamped in too it. I then used inks to highlight the texture. The image is one from the Paris Collection one of my favourite collections from Dezinaworld. I attached my hanger by again softening the beeswax and pushing it in.

you will need some beeswax and a means of heating it - if you don't have a melt pot an oil burner with a nightlight will work perfectly ok. I keep a pan for my melt pot especially for beeswax. I also use a brush kept again just for beeswax

Paint the beeswax on - gradually bulding up the layers until you can hardly see the photo



I scraped the wax away from the faces then soften the wax with my heat gun and stamped all around with swirl image.

Journal Covers

I just love the way these have turned out. I had a hessian bag that some posh wine came in as a prezzie ages ago and I knew if I kept it I would find a use for it !!!! Well last night I sat and picked all the stitching out and Viola !!! covers for my journal were made. I added some inks to deepen the colour - the lettering and keys are Tim Holtz grunge paper - inked with dabbers. The corners are cork. The whole thing is very touchy feely !!!

Another 2 pages that I've really enjoyed completing I've used lots of bits and pieces and techniques including cutting an aperture out on the 2nd one.

Journal page - tags

i again used acrylics to colour wash my pages after I had sewn a few together - I folded pages to make pockets and again stitched them. I made my tags to fit in the pockets and one to put on the page I then added my lettering and a couple of images and embellishments.

My journal is coming along a treat now and I'm loving doing it

for this page I colour washed the background with 3 washes of acrylics. I then added some torn paper to both sides - added my images and then did a bit of journalling which I highlighted with white gel pen. I used mica powder in my last wash but it doesn't show very well on the pic.

A walk in the woods

I love the way this back to front canvas has turned out !!! There was a lot of fiddly cutting involved because I printed the main tree - cut it in half and after cutting out all the little bits and pieces I stuck it to either side of the canvas which I had already put the backing on to. I used ink to cover the sides and made my images stand out more with silicone.

I would love to give credit to whoevers blog gave me the inspiration to give this a try but can't find it again - sorry

Altered Pocket watch

Andrea gave me this watch a little while ago and its been crying out to be altered!!! Well today thats exactly what I did !!

Altered Tile 2

For this tile I used Glass leading to create the squares then I dripped alcohol inks in them and blew them around with a straw. I finished with a little stamping - I think they look like moon faces or pumpkins lol

Graeme gave me some tiles when he'd finished his bathroom. I covered this one with texture paste and then whilst wet pushed in my bits and pieces. Left it to dry then added inks - I quite like it - what do you think??

Altered Hidden Compartment Book

I have really enjoyed altering this book although it seems to have taken forever to get it finished !!!Lots and lots of drying time. I started by glueing lots of pages together and then cutting out niches for my matchboxes. I had lots of fun adding colour and texture to the other pages. The cover is done with tissue and inks and the spine is coverd with lots of bits and pieces. I added fibres along the way and put beads and dominoes in my matchboxes which have little handles made with brads and fibre.Wish you could all have a feel of it - it's very tactile!!!

Cowboys and Indians

A little board book that I've altered for a friend who is still a kid at heart and loves Cowboys and Indians - hope he likes it - the fastener is an old watch strap

Hangers

Been having a little play !!! Made some hanging thingies (technical term) used foam core board for 3 of them and balsa wood for the other one - lots of inking - sides were done with either leading or memory tape - all have staples or screws in to create the hanger

Ruler Book

Another ruler book - this time its for a little gift for someone who was unable to join in the swap- again I;ve used lots of inks, stamps and bits and pieces and drilled and bolted my rulers

Time Canvas

Well this canvas !!! I made the effort to get it finished Friday night in time for Andrea coming Saturday - she is holding the swap on the Lotstodo forum - well!!! when I went to get all my swaps to give her I had already done a canvas lol so Andrea got to choose one to keep for herself.

I enjoyed doing this one - used lots of different bits and pieces and finished it all off with beeswax
