Going back to the start...

Hello again and welcome to Inso's World.

Way back in the dim and distant past, I started using the internet and suddenly became aware of the wide range of miniatures that were available on the market. Up until that point it was Citadel / Games Workshop only... apart from some Scotia Grendel Kryomek that used to be available in HMV (of all places).

It surprises me that I only started this blog in 2008... because, prior to that, I had been pottering around for a good few years... and I am also NOT surprised that the first miniatures I posted on here were from Hasslefree Miniatures. I found Hasslefree Miniatures in 2004 and was instantly drawn to their Grymn range. In fact, it was a single picture of Aylton the Grymn (sculpted by Kev White) that made me hunt down the manufacturer so that I could get hold of a few Grymn myself.

...That was the start of it. My big obsession. Why Grymn? Well... I'll tell you a story...

When I was about 15, I started sculpting miniatures. I used the only putty that was available to me (Milliput) and just went for it. I bent up a paperclip attached it to a plastic base, and built up an armature, followed by a full miniature. It was a Half-Dwarf in powered armour. The next sculpt was a Halfling in powered armour, followed by a Halfling in terminator armour and then one riding a Citadel, Judge Dredd, Lawmaster bike. Not long after that... I joined the military and off I went into the big world.

The reason I sculpted what I did, was that I always thought that Halflings were a missed opportunity. They always seemed to be portrayed with chicken drumsticks in their hands and saucepans on their heads and were, for all intents and purposes, a joke. I hated that. I wanted my Halflings to be warriors with hi-tech weaponry and equipment and certainly no bare feet! That's why I sculpted little people with tough kit.

... Then Aylton the Grymn showed up:

Click the Pic!

It was the above picture (the miniature was painted by Jenova... a very talented and well regarded painter of miniatures) that immediately caught my eye... back in 2004. He looked just like my idea of what a tough space Halfling should look like. Big gun, decent equipment and a strong character.

I found Hasslefree Miniatures, ordered a set of five (which was all that was available at the time) and painted them up... then more were released and I snapped them up... then the cycle continued up until today. When new ones are released... I can't help myself.

So... why all the reflection on Grymn today? Well... with things being the way they are at the moment, my sculpting muse has decided that, just when I am starting up a little bit of a selling thing, she would go on holiday. Now, that isn't a bad thing... I have had quite a run on sculpting for a good few years and it was about time I started painting again. So I saw the new Primaris Marines and dived straight in... BUT... I stalled. The miniatures are great but what I really needed was something familiar and I knew just what to do. Not only would it help me to get painting again but it would also allow me the opportunity to try out some new basing materials in the process. I dug out a few of my many spare Grymn and, after cleaning them up, basing and priming them, set to work. After a while, as is usually the case, I got to thinking about what comes next so I dug out some walkers I converted (from Critical Mass Games... before they closed shop) and slapped a rough coat of paint on one to see how it looked. Well... this is where I am, at the moment:

Click the Pic!

In the picture, there are three walkers at the back, three specialists in front and then a squad of 8 standard Grymn troops. They still have a way to go but I am really enjoying painting them and the familiarity is a bit like meeting old friends again. It was definitely the right time to be painting Grymn because I have been out of the military now for 8 months and haven't finished painting anything... what better way to break the duck than with some of these excellent little miniatures.

For the record... I can't wait for the new ones to be released... I can always find money for more Grymn!

See you from the Grymn High-Council Chambers!

Just one more to go!

Well this has been a week and no mistake!

Bank holiday Monday, action packed day at work on Tuesday, Health and Safety course for the rest of the week with a presentation to do on the final day. All that and, as you saw on Thursday's post, a bit of hobby stuff on the side too.

Well... to repeat the title of today's post 'Just one more to go'... yes, I have finished the medical vehicle:

Click the Pic!

I have painted it in line with the rest of the vehicles so it looks a bit 'flat' but that is just the way of it. It is funny but, when I put this one up against the other Marauder conversion, I noticed that the colours were different. The older vehicle was lighter grey and had different coloured tyres! My excuse? It was put together in a different workshop that specialises in medical vehicles and they used different tyres and didn't have the perfect shade of grey! That is my excuse and I am sticking to it.

With the Tunnel Fighters still firmly in mind, I have also started to build the final, Command vehicle:

Click the Pic!

It is based on a Flakpanzer Gepard 1/35th scale kit so it will be quite large. Due to it needing to be quite tall, I may make it so that the top section can be removed for transport (by using some magnets). I have still not decided on how I want it to look but it will be able to feasibly contain two OGrymn, a battlesuit and a small selection of Grymn (the Special Command squad). Fortunately, I was in town yesterday and was able to pick up some cheap paint from Modelzone (due to it closing down) so I will be able to spray the wheels before going too far with the build.

What else is happening? Well... Kev over at Hasslefree Miniatures has been designing and building some new arms for the Grymn Walker. Here is what he has come up with:

Cool stuff, I am sure you will agree.

See you from the beach!

Sunny Sunday.

It has been an interesting week. A lot of things have sorted themselves out and I have actually managed to start doing some painting.

First of all, I got hold of Andy at Heresy miniatures and he sent me an order of Sharclon that I had sort of arranged to pick up at Salute but then didn't... and then got forgotten so Andy shipped them immediately and I painted them up pronto. Here they are with the other five:

Click the Pic!

In addition to that small amount of painting, I have been tidying up and getting rid of some stuff so I had to nip into town to post a lot of little parcels and while I was there, I had a nice coffee and bought a book of cat poems to read (by T.S.Elliot, no less). The beauty of it all was that I had to take the bus in (because my name isn't on the insurance for the courtesy car we currently have) and it inspired me to write a little poem:

I woke up this morning and thought 'oh what fun',
I'll go for a wonderful walk in the sun.
Then I thought 'it is blowy', I'll save all the fuss.
And instead, take a trip into town, on the bus.
So that's what I did, and I'm so glad to say,
That a bus trip to town's a good start to the day.
A hot cup of coffee, watching people go by.
Doing sudoku and feeling time fly.
A trip to post parcels and to buy a few things,
A mystery item, to liven up things.
Then it's back to the stop and to save any fuss.
I cheerfully travel, back home on the bus.

When I returned home, I started to think about stuff to paint... when another parcel arrived from Heresy Miniatures with more Sharclon inside. Now I thought that if I ploughed into these, it may mess up my current painting ability so I thought about other stuff... and found this to paint:

Click the Pic!

It is a small walker from the Kryomek range (from Scotia Grendel). It is one of those miniatures that I bought in a fit of nostalgia because I originally bought one in the eighties but it long since got lost so I felt the need to replace it. It is just something random to paint and speaking of random, apart from the sculpting and normal painting I have on the table, I now have a partially painted, converted, Enforcer captain from Mantic Games and a Sasquatch from Reaper Miniatures waiting for some putty to dry before I can prime it.

Kick Starters are all the rage and as I mentioned in my last post, I am on board with a few at the moment.

First up is Warzone Resurrection which has now finished. I am now waiting for three Vulkan Battlesuits with additional close combat weapons to be sent out in June/July/August. I plan to use them as support for my Dreamforge Games troopers.

Next comes Crossfire Miniatures which is still running at the moment. I have pledged enough to get the five heroes that will be produced. It is likely to stay that way unless something truly awesome jumps up and demands my attention.

Finally, we have Deadzone from Mantic Games. This one is due to finish very soon and has got my undivided attention. I have pledged enough (so far) to get a starter faction (Rebs) and a $50 booster (which will be two boosters of my choice because it is buy one, get one free). I plan on getting a Forgefather booster (which contains Dwarf Bikers!) and possibly the Rebs booster. Alternatively, I may go for the $50 faction starter for the Forgefathers and Asterians... Hmmm... decisions, decisions.

I just hope I can get my mojo to build up to a state where I can actually paint all of this (or even a small amount of it).

See you from a point of introspection!

Another year under my belt.

Today is my birthday. I have had a busy day at work, was late home and had to cook the tea as usual... but I have had a good day so it isn't as bad as it may seem. What has made today special is that a parcel arrived and the contractor who is fitting the bathroom lino was able to sign for the parcel in my absence... so I didn't have to go to the depot for it.

What was in the parcel?

This:

Click the Pic!

That is a box of 14 Grymn Walkers. Isn't that sweet?!

In other news, the second squad of Clankers is ticking along nicely:

Click the Pic!

...and I have started to add putty to the Daemon Prince:

Click the Pic!

Not very far along... but it's a start!

See you from the top of the swirly-whirly pony!

Waking up, on a Sunday Morning...

Before I start today's post, I would like to welcome Mr.J to Inso's World. Welcome aboard, Mr.J; I hope you find something of interest to take away with you and be sure to comment on things... it makes the days pass brighter.

I have had a bit of a slow start to my day... a mix of a late night and some Ruby Port but I am starting to get my head around things and perk up a bit now.

In a few days time, I am going to be right for the whole following year. Why? Well, I'll be 42 and that means I will be the answer to the question of the meaning of life, the universe and everything. I am sure there will be bumps in the road with this but I am sure I will flatten them out.

In the hobby field, I have been busy (even though there are builders in and out - we're getting a new bathroom from HM - whether we like it or not) and have been frantically painting Clankers. Here is the first unit finished:

Click the Pic!

In addition to that, I have primed and base-coated another unit in gun-metal ready for the next stage so I am quite happy with the way things are going. I have also started work on the Hellbrute but have only fitted wire and started to put a frame to sculpt over... so nothing worth showing off yet.

In other news, I have finally succumbed to the inevitable. It has cost me a few months hobby money too...

... at Salute last year, Hasslefree Miniatures released the Grymn Walker (available HERE and HERE). It is a beautiful piece of equipment:

Click the Pic!

Click the Pic!

When I saw it I immediately began thinking how I would use such a beast for my Grymn forces and my first thought was "I now have a walker for my Urban Army". My second thought was "I hope they aren't too expensive because I'll need a lot". Well, for what they are, they aren't expensive but at £20-00 a go, I needed to think seriously about how many I needed. I looked at various formations and thought about how the walkers would interact and decided that they would use the modern British armoured squadron formation. That means 14 vehicles (four sections of three, an I/C and a 2I/C).

Well this week, I bit the bullet and ordered 14 of the Walkers.

I figured that it would help to get them all painted uniformly if I did them all together. I also figured that it may kick start the Urban Army again. I know that a finished squadron of walkers will look the dog's danglies.

Well, that's about it for today. I doubt that I will achieve any post worthy stuff today so I doubt there will be further updates today.

See you from the Walker shed!

2013

It would appear that the year has changed... it is now 2013.

Happy New Year to all who are reading this... and to those who aren't; BUMS!!! ;)

With a lot of purpose, I began to prep my Vulkan Battlesuits ready for the transformation into Clankers to begin and I have managed to do all of the cleaning with just the hatches to sand down before the next stage can begin. The next stage is converting the heads to have an enclosed helmet and that will be tomorrow's task (I'll finish cleaning up the hatches tonight). One thing I noticed was that the Vulkans are made of different types of metal (some have more lead in than others) so some were harder to clean up than others... but they are all nearly finished so it can't be bad.

I have also been plodding along with my Dark Forgefathers and have finished a third CE-AT:

Click the Pic!

I have started on the next one so although progress is slow... there is progress.

Here's a scale pic for those who are interested:

Click the Pic!

In other news I have started the ball rolling on my 'expensive purchase of the year'... I have asked Sally at Hasslefree Miniatures about purchasing 14 Grymn Walkers. This is something that has been on the boil since the Grymn Walker was first released (early last year) and I have been milling over how I was going to deal with the process of painting an armoured squadron. I finally decided that I would prefer to get a production line going so having them all together would be the first step which means getting Hasslefree to cast me a batch (it is doubtful that 14 walkers would be 'off the shelf'). Now I am awaiting a date for them to be cast... more news on the project will surface nearer the time but it is something that will hopefully get my Grymn Urban Army back into production.

2013 will be an interesting ride.

See you from the branch of a tall oak tree!

Happy Easter...and more pods.

First of all, to all of you who celebrate it, Happy Easter!

Next, I'd like to welcome the latest follower of Inso's World; Jonathan Clements. Welcome Jonathan and I hope that you find something to inspire, encourage or entertain you during your stay. Feel free to comment on posts and share your experience.

Finally...I have been busy with pods and have finished converting all eight of them now. Here they are with some Grymn troops to look after:

Click the Pic!

The Grymn have been stolen from a desert raiding party I was working on a long time ago but I thought that they could be pressed into service...seeing as they have been stuck in a box for a good few years. Once I have base-coated everything you'll get a better idea of what the troops look like but until then...they have had some pouches, water-bottles and hats added.

See you from the top of the world!

Pods 2.

Well, after a couple of hours chopping and gluing, I am happy with the height of the first four pods:

Click the Pic!

As you can see in the pic, it just took four cuts per leg and a little bit of a re-glue and they have been brought down to a less gangly height. Once I have done the same to the other four, I will sort out the little details and base them ready for paint. I am thinking about making the white ones a bit more dynamic and maybe in the process of flying/landing.

I have a small selection of Grymn that have been in storage for ages. They were converted to be desert Grymn but they could work equally well as jungle troops. I reckon that if I painted the pods in a mid green with yellow markings and white decals, they would suit a jungle theme quite nicely and would provide me with a good place to put my stagnating Grymn.

It really is amazing what being bored can help you to achieve...

See you from the butcher's block!

Pods

I am at my worst when I am bored. I have so much stuff to do but I am just the wrong side of tired to do anything.

...so I went into the attic and had a bit of a rummage and descended the ladder with these:

Click the Pic!

They are 1/200 scale, Nichimo, Macross kits and there are six Regult soldier pods and two Regult scout pods. I have always meant to use these for my Grymn (surprise, surprise) and have left off the most spindly of aerials and guns but now that I look at them, I have decided that they are just too tall...

...so for a little light relief, they will be losing their legs later. I have already decided where to cut so it should be fairly straight forward.

All I have to say now is...

Pod squad...GO!

See you from the surgery!

A week well spent?

I had no plans for my week away from work and as a result, have managed to achieve quite a lot. First of all, I have managed to matt-varnish all of the first platoon of Urban Grymn:

(Command Section) Click the Pic!

(First Section) Click the Pic!

(Second Section) Click the Pic!

(Third Section) Click the Pic!

Add to that The matt varnishing of the walker:

Not to mention, re-basing, adding decals and re-ranking these Airborne Assault troops:

Click the Pic!

...and converting/tidying up their drop-ships:

Click the Pic!

...and you'll see that I have been busy! BUT it doesn't stop there. Oh no! I have also started painting something that Mondrian himself would be interested in:

Click the Pic!

I have also managed to assemble and base these Mawes, ready for paint (even though their demonic aura has blurred the fabric of space between my camera and their bodies):

Click the Pic!

I also managed to have a great night out at a beer-call and see the film John Carter (Very good film).

That...

is all.

See you from the clinic!

Sunday and a few decal woes...

Another Sunday and after a fitful 'post curry' night, I set about painting the seated pilot for the Grymn walker. Once he was finished I gloss varnished the areas of the walker that were going to have decals applied and looked through my decal stash for the appropriate markings.

So...here is the painted Grymn walker (before any decals were applied) with the standing pilot for company:

Click the Pic!

Here are some more pix of the standing pilot:

Click the Pic!

This pic shows the seated pilot:

Click the Pic!

Finally, this shows the decals that have been applied to the gloss areas and then glossed over the top again:

Click the Pic!

The final pic shows the decals off quite clearly and they represent:

Lightning bolt: Command Badge.
Red/White/Blue marking: Regiment Badge.
Yellow Square: Squadron Badge.
501: Company Number.

Unfortunately, the decals didn't go on as smoothly as I would have liked so I will need to practice a little with 'decal soft' before I start the arduous task of adding decals to all of the troops.

Once I had fitted the pilot to the walker, I had to trim out the canopy cover a little to stop the head/hands catching on it (my positioning of the pilot was to blame because I had trial fitted him previously with no problems)...but after a quick Dremel and paint re-touch, everything is fine now.

Next I will be gloss varnishing it ready fro a matt coat (when I get some). It is nice to have got some decals on part of the big Grymn Urban Army project at last (even if they weren't as clean as I would have liked).

See you from the top of the cupboard, just next to the kidney beans!

More parcels.

I was very happy to find my E-bay parcel from Australia on my doorstep today. Inside the nicely packed box was something I have wanted to get my grubby little mitts on for a very long time:

Click the Pic!

Yes, I have finally got hold of one of the Wave 1/60 scaled VOTOMS kits. This one is a Scopedog with extra components to make it a Red Shoulder. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the parachute back-back that a basic Scopedog has...but I am lucky enough to have a die-cast 1/60 scale Scopedog that Kev from Hasslefree Miniatures sent me a while ago, so I will be able to borrow the one from there to help with my plans:

Click the Pic!

I haven't opened the packets yet but after looking at the sprues, I will have enough components to create both Scopedogs and Red shoulders.

It is a future plan (probably next year...or even later) but I am going to be converting the kit to use ball joints and will be using the converted components to cast my own pieces. I won't be selling any and when I've finished, the kits will not be recognisable as plastic kits...I will be simplifying everything into as few parts as possible and they will be in resin. I feel that it is the only way that I can build the army of VOTOMs troops that I have always wanted to do. It will also be an excellent way to learn how to cast resin.

On to other things and I have put in another order to Old Crow. Three more Glaive APCs will be winging their way towards me in a month or so and they will be the last vehicles needed to finish off the Urban infantry company. I would have waited for Salute to get them but Old Crow, won't be there...so I thought I'd get in and buy some now.

I have nearly finished painting my Grymn Walker. I only have the base to go and it is done. I haven't painted the seated pilot yet...but the standing pilot is also painted except for the base so show and tell tomorrow should be worth the wait. I have gone for a slightly different Urban camouflage scheme for the walker but I think it will fit in fine with the rest of the army.

Interesting times...and still no decal fitting! Mind you, if I am going to get distracted from my chosen tasks, I'd rather it was as a result of free Grymn Walkers than anything else!!!

See you from the Mech command seat!

A quick post.

In answer to one of the comments that I received on my Grymn Walker post...I have posted a sort of review over at my Grymn Blog. You can find it HERE .

See you from the peaks!

The case of the mysterious parcel...

On Saturday, after returning from town, I discovered a mysterious note from one of her Majesty's servants on my door mat (a 'you've missed the delivery of your parcel and need to go and collect it on Monday' note). I immediately thought that my E-bay parcel had arrived, rather expeditiously, from one of her Majesties colonies (Australia) and was disappointed to have missed the delivery.

My dearest wife went and collected the parcel today...

...and a picture tells the story better than I could in words:

Click the Pic!

Yes, I have a Grymn walker... sent as gift from Sally and Kev at Hasslefree Miniatures

No words at this time can express how happy I am!

See you from a magic cloud, hovering somewhere over Oxfordshire!

Is it Sunday yet?

Shift work has had a nasty effect on me this week...I have had a major re-lapse on the sleep front and was wide awake until gone 04:00hrs this morning. It is a pain when I go to bed and feel tired out but have an active and wide-awake mind...but it does give me time to think.

So in amongst the de-caf tea I trawled the net to find some decent pix of superheroes for my little team and have now decided on the following group:

Nick Fury (go between)

Iron Man (flier/blaster)
Black Widow (martial artist)
Hurricane (speedster)
Juggernaut (brute)
Beast (brawler)

I have started sculpting the first of them and there is a sneak peak at the bottom right of the following picture:

Click the Pic!

Also in the Pic, you will see that I have progressed slightly with the three walkers. Although they are still in need of a major tidy up before I even wash them, they look a bit better now that the windows are defined.

Above the walkers are four more of my Tunnel Fighter APCs. They are assembled and filled as far as they need to be to get their undercoat applied...but the putty still needs to dry a bit so paint will have to wait. It is a funny thing that when I get a bit over-tired, I dig out things from the cupboard and just tick along with them...this time it was quite productive. I assembled the APCs with some epoxy glue from a 99p store...and apart from smelling very strongly of ammonia, it worked very well.

I reckon that I'll get a bit more finished on the little sculpt tonight but that will be about it. She is looking OK at the moment but don't expect super-detailed because I want to keep the little team simple and have the paint-scheme bring it to life. Also bear in mind that each one will be around 22mm tall...so you'll have to cut me some slack if they don't turn out awesome.

Can you guess which one the first sculpt will be?

See you over the metropolis tower!

Robotic News.

I was so glad that I finished my other two walkers today that I thought I'd throw a picture out there with the assembled group:

Click the Pic!

I have to decide how I am going to paint them all at the moment but they will be urban coloured (grey) but may have some sort of camouflage and will DEFINITELY have nose-art teeth and eyes. They need that big space under the cockpit covering up.

A bit earlier, whilst travelling the web, I found this:

Click the Pic!

It is a WIP Spider-Mech from Antenociti's Workshop and I can see a lot of gamers going mad for them. The smaller body at the front, is possibly aimed at the 15mm market but I can see myself going for the smaller one for my Grymn forces. With a small amount of conversion, they would make great Tachikomas from Ghost in the Shell. I reckon they will be fairly pricey, looking at them (especially the big one), but if they were used as transport for your commander/character models, you wouldn't need too many to add flavour to your forces.

Just a thought :).

See you ducking down in the gully, avoiding the snipers!

2nd Post.

On to the second part of Sunday's posting and this time there is hobby news. Unfortunately, I have been unable to finish the remaining two walkers but have got a fair way. Here is a pic to show them so far:

Click the Pic!

All I have left to do is add two window frames, either side in green-stuff (at the moment, I have to wait for the existing layer to dry) and then fill in all of the gaps in the frames. Once that is done I just need to pin and glue the guns on before undercoating and painting. I guess it is a case of 'so near, yet so far'. Well. I'll be ticking along with those until they are finished.

The postman only rings once...and then takes my parcel off to the depot until I can pick it up tomorrow. The big question is..."Is it Space Dwarfs or my other parcel?"...I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

For ages I have been keen to add a few superheroes to my collection and I have finally decided that it is time to get the ball rolling. The idea is to have a team of five 'super-soldiers' with a liaison officer to act as a go between with the normal armed forces. I have decided that, rather than just making it all up, I'd opt for some recognised Marvel/DC heroes and have decided on the following:

Go-Between:
Nick Fury.

Team:
Captain America
Ironman/Warmachine (maybe even the Crimson Dynamo).
Black Widow
Hurricane (effectively a female version of the Flash - super speedster)
A brute of some description (maybe Juggernaut or Beast)

I have chosen the above because they can all be explained away with serums or technological or biological science. There won't be any 'struck by a mystic bolt' nonsense! I want them to be super soldiers rather than mutants or mystical superheroes or aliens.

Unfortunately, the miniatures that are on the market don't fit in with my plans so I will have to sculpt/convert my own which is one of the reasons I have kept it to a limited number of team-members.

I'm not saying that they are imminent but they are on the drawing board...

One last note before I get back to my Walkers. I have been trawling the web...as I do...and I noticed that Miniature Heroes has the Denison range of sci-fi troops. In amongst them are a few gems and for their time, they are pretty decent little miniatures. It may be worth a look...

Miniature Heroes

Well, that is about it for today. I am on night shifts this week so I will be a bit disjointed with sleep and that will impact things a little. It doesn't mean I won't get anything done, it just means I am getting my excuses in early!!!

See you through the shattered remains of the bay window!

Job done...

Before I start today, I would like to welcome ADAM to Inso's World. I hope that you enjoy your stay here and find something that takes your interest.

I must admit that I have had a bit of a busy working week with late shifts but I have still managed to set aside some hobby time to carry out a walker conversion. You may remember me mentioning that I had bought some walkers from Critical Mass Games, at Salute a couple of years ago. Well, the walkers in question were three 'Arc Fleet Cannon/Missile Support Combat Walker' models and here is a picture of one (courtesy of Critical Mass Games):

Click the Pic!

The walkers themselves, are made for 15mm wargaming but I thought that, with a little conversion, they would make good combat walkers for my Urban Grymn. Here is a picture of the components for one of the mechs and each of the three mechs came with all of the components shown (so there were spare chin weapons):

Click the Pic!

The good thing is that the chin weapons will happily fit on the shoulder mounts instead of the main guns. This means that you could get the scout walkers and use them as close infantry support by fixing the chin weapons on the shoulders and under the chin...and they would be £2-00 cheaper than buying walkers with shoulder guns.

...anyway...I digress! I was intending to use the walker for my 28mm Grymn so I set about converting the body with plasticard and putty. After filling in the chin area I added a cockpit and a hinge block at the rear to give the impression that the canopy lifts like an aircraft canopy. Well...this is what I came up with:

Click the Pic!

I used plasticard where I could and only used putty where I had to (to try and keep the design as simple as possible to re-create...especially because I have three of them). Here is what it looks like with some under-coat on:

Click the Pic!

I almost forgot the usual scale shot so here it is:

Click the Pic!

I hope you like it. I think it will be perfect for trotting down urban streets; blowing the heck out of the enemies of Grymn kind.

Once I have got it painted, I'll post more pics...and then I'll have another two bodies to convert. I must admit that although chopping up tiny pieces of plasticard can be quite frustrating, it can also be quite therapeutic!

That is it for today!

See you from the depths of the the deepest, darkest, hobby cupboard!

Thursday...STOP THE PRESS!

Today has been pretty cool (apart from the sunburn on my forehead, nose and neck).

Why?

I received a parcel.

It contained my order from Hasslefree Miniatures so I can now make 8 Grymn cavalry.

It contained a goody bag containing some magnetic bits and pieces, a bubble gum and some metal components for conversions (alien heads and a few cinematic effects).

It also contained, as a gift, some resin components.

I now have the main components for building a resin Grymn walker AND a powered armour trooper. Not only that, I have a pair of resin blanks for two Grymn in standard armour!

I am extremely happy about the gifts and I thank Kev and Sally white, at Hasslefree Miniatures for their generosity.

Now...what can I do with the bits and pieces...decisions, decisions...

On to other things, I also went to a families day today. There were lots of parked aircraft, flying displays, parachutists, classic cars, a fun fair and many other things to see. I went with my family and my in-laws and we had a very nice time. It was only when I got home that I realised I looked like a tomato...oh, I am going to get the mickey taken out of me tomorrow!

See you on the happy farm!
