~~

Yesterday Charles and I went out for an early dinner to

 Stumpknockers by the River in Hernando. This is about 40 miles

from our place, but ,oh, so worth the drive! It's the best

 Catfish restaurant that we have found in our area!

(this restaurant and the other Stumpknockers on the Square, in Inverness...an additional 10 or more miles..)

 They are family owned restaurants and with the same menu.

 Both places are a pleasure to visit -very charming setting and great food!

We both enjoyed it a lot!

Crystal River

(From my Face Book page)

Today was a beautiful day here in north Fl. Charles and I decided to enjoy it by taking a long ride over to Crystal River.
(west coast from Ocala)

We wanted to go for lunch at this really good restaurant we've visited a few times in the past. One of their specialities is catfish! That's what I chose and you can see the amount of fish on that plate! LOL- I gave several pieces to Charles. He chose a cheese burger, which he kept saying was the best he had ever had. (however, he also loved my catfish!!) Oh! And we had one of the best cups of clam chowder I've ever had, too!--And a side dish of "delish" mashed potatoes; made from those little red skinned potatoes!!

The scenery over there is very pleasing to see. It's so much fun to take little day trips, even a few miles from home. Not sure how far it is over there...50-60 miles maybe.

We also stopped at a couple yard/garage sales along the way!...Didn't buy much tho! Found a Barbie Doll for me in " Little Debbie" dress...and a little car for Drakey Poo-and Charles found a Hammer that he just had to have! Can't have too many of those around-he says!

All in all- we had a wonderful day! Hope you all did too!

Love,
Junie

From FB-about coffee mugs

What are your favorite coffee benefits?

LOVE my 1st cup...and I like to pick my favorite mug of the day!

Sooo...

Speaking of favorite coffee mugs...this is the one I chose today. Alli gave me this for Christmas and I love everything about it!

...however-it didn't make my job of taking on my bill paying and household bookkeeping any easier!!
 (And I couldn't "Let It Be" any longer ...)

I was doing this ALL the long day- from mid-morning until supper time. :(
 ...a job I really, REALLY don't like to do these days...but I got it finished-ONE MORE TIME!! Yah!!! :)

Happy New Year- ~~food for good luck in the new year

June Kellum

(posted on my Face Book page)
This is our traditional meal for the New Year. It's supposed to bring good luck to those who eat it, for the new year ahead! We do this every January 1st!! Who knows where we might be if we hadn't had this last Jan 1st! :) ... and I'm expecting great things for 2013!! "Blackeyed peas, cooked with hog jawl...some fried as bacon, too...Also mustard and turnip greens...cornbread. We also cooked a pork roast. For good measure and just because I like it-I have a cup of buttermilk with the hot cornbread crumbled in it! :)

Good southern chow but I'm not so sure about the 'good luck' part! ;)

Ruby Tuesday-July 31, 2012- More from Orlando

~~~
~~~
On our trip to visit our Orlando kids this past Sunday, we first stopped at our granddaughter's new place.
Allison is a college student at UCF and will graduate, May 2013. This apartment is ideal and she will probably stay here for awhile after she graduates.

These first pictures
 (with some touches of red)
 were made at Alli's place.

(I think this is Alli's motto)

Alli and her brother, Daniel.

~~~
After a short stop at Alli's we all went on a few miles south to my daughter, Tammy's house.
We had a great few hours with all the kids.
~
A few more touches of Ruby Reds of our day!
Everyone was quite taken with our new baby, Drake!
Tammy and Terry's house and yard look really pretty. She recently had completed some projects, both inside and out!
I loved  the way it all came together...This is an old house and has the old Florida charm. Looks so tropical with the new paint job!
The dinner was yummy, too!
This time I'm combining
 ~~~

On Saturday my husband and I were out for awhile.  We went to have breakfast and then just rode around our town for awhile.

We eventually ended up at our town square.

 Each Saturday there is a Farmer's Market set up there. Flowers and crafts are on display, as well! The square is also the home to a few of the Art Horses that have been so popular in our town.
 (2 different Horse Fever projects!)

Below are more of the pictures I got around town, in Mellow Yellows and Ruby Reds~ and in no particular order.

Charles bought this little Yellow Orchid plant for me!
 I think the name of this one is
 "Dancing Lady!"

Enjoy,

Junie Rose
