Blue Monday

I was talking to my daughter last night and she said she went to the beach for the day on Friday  in the Sydney area, and how lovely it was, they had a picnic and a swim in the ocean, and no trouble parking, which is a headache on the weekends.
It made me think, so many of my photos are of ocean or water scenes.  I can not remember the last time I actually went for a swim in open water, but I love walking along the beach or on the headlands.
We are only a short distance from the coast and have many lovely beaches to choose from. I've already posted a few ocean photos.

Here are some shots from my file, taken at the Gold Coast Seaway, just a short distance from the ocean.

Visit Smiling Sally and join in Blue Monday she would love to meet you and see your post and comments.

If anyone is interested I've started Simple Joys Saturday and would love to have more join in. Some friends have said they will post next Saturday, so I am looking forward to it.

Like you, Jan, I live near the open water but would rather look at it than swim. Happy Blue Monday.

Jan, I live near the water, too, and I never tire of pictures of it. I just love it so much. I'm amazed looking at your pelicans. They look different from ours here in Florida. In the dead of winter, we have white pelicans that migrate through (probably from Canada) seeking refuge in our warmer winter climate. They are some of my favorite shorebirds.

Thanks for sharing and Happy Blue Monday to you...

XO,

Sheila :-)

I, too, would rather look than swim. I live 1 mile away and rarely go. Your pictures are lovely.

All the places you featured today would be great for a swim. I cannot swim and never will. I do love seeing the water and walking the beaches. Your country truly has some very pretty ones.

ENjoyed your post - I love the water, don't have to be in it, just seeing it. Almost...almost like being there! Thanks! and thanks for stopping by my place! See ya next time, Jenn
