Santa's Extra-Nice List

There were so many cool cards featuring the awesome gang from the North Pole, we had a really hard time choosing! No need for a "naughty" list in these parts, that's for sure! Here are three cards that especially caught our eye:

...fussy cut the cutest Santa ever, then glossy-accented him (yes, that IS a word!) to make him shine, both literally and figuratively!

...wins the prize for most handsome reindeer by virtue of meritorious coloring AND picking exactly the right patterned papers!

...shows that when you're the man in the red suit, you don't need much in the way of embellishment; afterall, three-fifths of "CLAUS" is "CAS"! ;)

Many thanks to everyone who played along, we *LOVE* seeing what you'll make! We'll be back at midnight with a brand new prompt, a lovely guest star, and possibly even a bit of trash talk! ;)

Santa Claus (and friends) are Coming to Town

We're still celebrating Santa Baby this week ... as well as his various North Pole friends.

Here's what we created.

Lauren says, "A few weeks ago I posted a card that made use of a super-cute Santa gift tag I got at a discount store last December; as it happens, they had a variety of fun tags, so I may have stocked up a bit, lol. This Santa is another of those, actually he's two more of those; the nice thing about having multiples is that you could... say... fussy cut Santa's cute glittery face out of one tag and pop it up on top of another tag to give the whole thing dimension. So I did! I used the current (#405) Sketch Saturday layout, which is pretty fab, isn't it?"

Stephanie says, "When I started out with this Holiday Grumpling, I initially thought he was a reindeer (that's what I get for not wearing my reading glasses) ... then when I put on my glasses & started coloring those antlers, I realized he was a Moose.  Oh well, I'm pretty sure there's at least one grumpy Moose at the North Pole, so I decided to stick with him ... especially since he is decorated (at least half-way) for the holiday.  Layout is this week's Sketch from The Paper Players."

Santa Baby

Our next prompt is to create a card celebrating the man who shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly ... aka Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas ... or any other denizen of the North Pole such as Mrs. Claus or Santa's Elves (or even the 8 tiny reindeer).

Here's what we created:

Stephanie says, "I couldn't resist featuring my favorite Oh What Fun Santa from Avery Elle.  He just looks so darn joyous (and he's easy to color).  A few sequins for falling snow & a layout from Retro Sketches, and this Jolly card came together quickly."

Lauren says, "The closest I ever get to a "clean and simple" aesthetic is when I have to make a card in a bit of hurry; mind you, I've still got four different patterned papers on here, so "CAS" is distinctly relative in my case, but for me this is pretty pared-down, lol! I also used Retro Sketches #207 to guide my layout... but no, Stephanie and I never confer, honestly!!!"

So now it's your turn to make a card featuring Santa Baby, or any other of the North Pole's illustrious residents. Link it up right here by 6pm (EST) on Wednesday, April 6th. Keyword for galleries or Flickr is JB:16:07.
