Our time left in Utah is quickly fading away, so we are trying to fit in as much as we can before we leave. We had a busy but fun weekend up in Northern Utah. Zak has always wanted to go to the Kennecott Copper Mine/Bingham Mine (the largest copper mine in the world), so we finally made it over there on Friday. It really is amazing to see the open pit mine and learn more about all that is done there!
It was quite windy as you can see, but a nice day considering it wasn’t raining for once.
It’s crazy to think there used to be a mountain where the pit is now
This is one of the tires from the mining trucks, they are huge and cost $25,000 each.
After the mine we headed up to Tremonton to spend the evening with my cousin Kilee and her husband Cody. We had fun visiting, eating and playing games. Thanks for the fun night guys! This is a beautiful view out their backyard.
The next morning we headed up to Bear Lake for the day, the weather was a bit cold and rainy. But we still had fun driving around the whole lake and walking in the water on the Idaho side. Kennedy loved it and didn’t want to just walk in it (she took a seat right after this picture was taken). We made sure to enjoy a yummy Raspberry Shake while we were there too. Cache Valley is so pretty and green right now!
Dad up to his old tricks again. I wonder why she loves her daddy so much? He’s always the fun one. Yes, it freaks me out when he does this, but Kennedy LOVES it, as the picture shows!
We ended the weekend at a family get together in Ogden, I didn’t get any pictures, but we had a fun time with everyone. Kennedy was in heaven crawling around exploring new territory and getting lots of attention after being in the car most of the day.
