Shabby Chic Breakfast

Such a lovely shabby chic breakfast feature on Amy Atlas' blog submitted by Margherita of
Le Chat de Sucre in Florence, Italy. I love the whimsical way she created paper butterflies and labels using the pages of old books. And the menu followed old country recipes infused with lavender flowers, rose water and essence of violet. So beautiful!

Pink + White Shabby Chic Wedding Style

I'm loving this feminine, spring~hued photo shoot featured on The Sweetest Occasion.
Inspired by a pink faux fur stole, vintage pink china and a worn, rustic hutch, the design team took a subtle approach to glitter and glam, embracing pretty shades of white, blue, and pink paired with soft fabrics. With pearls, rhinestones, and ribbon they brought in feminine charm and contrasted it with a simple, timeworn country elegance. Brilliant!

Mother/Daughter Vintage Picnic

I had found this beautiful mother/daughter vintage picnic on Thoughtfully Simple sometime last year and bookmarked it to come back to post on my blog. Now that Mother's Day is approaching again, it's time to start looking for creative ways to celebrate.

Often times, we get so busy styling an event, and we focus the most energy on pulling all the design elements together. Then when all is said and done we show off the perfect color palette, or coordinated tablescape.

But to me, the perfect event involves more than just the design elements.

Events are lifetime memories that you are creating for your loved ones, your friends and family; or for your clients if you are a professional party planner.

That's why I like to look behind the eye candy to find the real reason for the party.
What, or who, are the celebrating, and why?

I've thought about this post on Thoughtfully Simple for so long. You see this picnic was planned by a mother for her college bound daughter, to enjoy the inspiring mother/daughter relationship that they share.

For relatively little money she created a memory they will both cherish the rest of their lives. What a well-designed and lovely afternoon they spent together before they both venture into a new chapter in their lives.

Lisa inspires me to always continue to develop this type of closeness with my daughter.

Darling Easter Vintage Brunch + DIY Printables

I love the charming, shabby chic vibe of this vintage-style "Breakfast and Bunnies" brunch hosted by Julia of in Good Company, and featured on Hostess with the Mostess.

This party is full of darling and simple DIY elements including glass soda bottles embellished with paper doilies, place settings adorned with bunny~shaped sugar cookies, and cute little chalkboard signs to help guide guests to the table.

As an added bonus, Julia is sharing her beautiful and FREE "Vintage Easter" party
printables that coordinate with this look ~ including party circles, place cards, invitations, bunny ear/nose and pennant banner.

This definitely is my style of party!
