Enjoying my weekends!

I really liked my weekend. I got to spend a lot of time with my hubby and the girls.  Preston and I ran errands on Saturday which included new walking shoes for me. Lunch at our favorite place.

We came home to the gang outside in the backyard enjoying the sun and reading.  Then off to Costco for three of us. Then a quick trip home to change out people and then headed to a Summer Bash with great music. I was able to knit while listening to awesome music.

Sunday was the typical go to church, but then had lunch with friends J and T. We don't see them enough. I am hoping with Preston's change of schedule we can spend more time with them. Then we did the Angel Food attempt. First one was with Banana flour, this is not a good use of the flour.  Scored a -10 and immediately went into the garbage. The 2nd one was with some other gluten free flour, it was good but not my best. The flour was old and now I will get fresher and try again.

Also I woke up this morning to find that the niece of my heart has made her debut! I cannot wait to snuggle this one next month. It seems so weird not to be there for her birth.

Mom's day

Today was my mom's birthday. My brother Jeff organized us for dinner, only missing the other brother. We brought dinner to her and dad. It was great fun and filled with joy.

I made a little head way on Sissi's sock, to the start of the heel flap.

Tuesday Night Dinner

Dinner at mom's

Today we got a nice surprise of dinner at my mom's. She had made a roast as oldbro was going to come to the house to stay the night as he has a dentist appointment in the morning. Short story: he decided not to go. Side benefit: Mr80grit and I got to have dinner with my parents. We always enjoy our time together and tonight was no different. We made plans for mother's day and more for the week after.

MrHarley took a trip to Wendover today so wasn't there but hopefully he will be there for mother's day.

Now I am on the way home to do some knitting. It is going to be June before I know it!

A family gathering

Let me just say now, I love my husband's family. All of them. Especially all the family from his mom's side. There is one cousin that is the best at organizing, anything, anytime. She is the one that makes sure we have family gatherings, vacations etc and we all know about them. I would call her very lovingly our family cruise director, because she even makes spring cleaning fun. (yes, she reads my blog too!)

This week her and her handsome son is in town helping my SIL with spring cleaning, decorating my nephew #1 new bedroom. So tonight they threw a party and all that could come did. Which meant much food, fun and laughter. We took a ton of pictures especially of all the kiddos! Sorry no posted here but I will share the food!

Here are the strawberries that we dipped in chocolate.

Here is the gluten free pecan pie that Mr80grit got for me to share. Everyone loved it but I was able to bring some home. Yummy!

The cheese, grape and bread plate. Wonderful director made sure I had cheese and carrots that hadn't touch any bread or gluten. I just love her!!!!

Aren't these the cutest little sponge cakes. Our personal cruise director brought them. I got to find a good gf recipe to make small bundt cakes like this.

Flowers on the table. So beautiful I had to take a picture.

What an awesome time! With the new job, less stress, less hours we hope to do more family things in the future. There is a big event in July with family dinners and a trip to Preston Idaho for rodeo days???maybe.

No knitting news, maybe tomorrow.

Pre-Thanksgiving Meal

Today was a pre-Thanksgiving meal at my parents house. I had to train at my new job and so Mr80grit took me to work this afternoon and then picked me up at 6pm. We quickly set off for the parents house. Mr80grit pick up this lovely flower arrangement in a pumpkin for my mom. It really made her day!!! He is such a great guy. He wanted to make sure that it still felt like Thanksgiving for my parents but especially for my mom. Let's all say it --- Ahhhh!

It was an awesome meal. Pot Roast, baked potatoes, fruit filled jello, gluten free rolls and my mom's delicious green bean medley seen below. I love it! It has green beans, green and red peppers, mushrooms, with a dressing of brown mustard and some kind of vinegar...sorry, I can't remember. Oh and onions...forgot until I looked at the picture. It is really yummy!

We relaxed after dinner with talking, Mr80grit working on Mom's computer and then we finished up with the best pecan pie from Charlotte's Bakery!!! Yummy!!!! With homemade whipped cream on top!!! (yes it is gluten free!) Now we are home again and are totally stuffed. Definitely will not need to eat until tomorrow afternoon!

Have a great night!
