Goodbye Winter

Goodbye Winter!
You have been amazing this year!
We have had so much snow fall, and even the odd storm here and there

Your skies were mostly blue and bright.

You have been wintry wonderfully white!

We have loved every minute of it!

We are looking forward to seeing you again at the end of the year!

In the meantime we are getting ready for sun bathing
and swimming and picknicking and being outside as much as possible!

To remain

My life has been a constant coming and going, moving and staying.
I have moved from country to country.
I wrapped and packed our belongings more times than I care to remember.
I have only ever had one dream, and that was to have a simple life.
Small dreams and simplicity of living.....

But I guess life had different plans for me.
Instead we have been living upside down in a state of uncertainty.
My dream remains the same.
I dream of boring simple living....

... and feel blessed all the same.
I have such a lovely bunch of family right around me.

My cup as always been full.
And for that I am grateful.

Our adventure is still in full motion,
will we stay, will we go.

It would be nice to finally just stay.
I will keep you posted.
Life is not boring, that is for certain.

Live Life with Joy

Joy is a state of being, I suppose.
It can't really be found around me, or in others,
it seems to be more of feeling that is deeply rooted
within. A source that we tap into when we do the things
we love.
And suddenly there is joy and there is peace.
And it is always there, inside of us.

This is a painting I made whilst I was crocheting
at the same time, and instead of painting the main flower
I thought it would be nice to add a handmade crochet
flower. It is such a joy to be able to do three things I love, crocheting,
painting and lettering all at the same time.

Joy!

A little bit of this ....

I guess I just have not been able to make up my mind.
Will I paint? Will I do some lettering? Will I do some
more crocheting? Decisions decisions....

So why not just do them all at the same time, and put them
together on paper! ((heart))

I have been thinking of making handmade cards.
Not sure if I have the time, but I would definitely love it.

Yes. It is a happy day x

Hope Inspires

I have sat and stitched another illustrated fabric panel.
It calms me, the stitching and the words and the fabrics.
Like layers of feelings all coming together.

Hope is so inspirational.
It lets you know that life is like layers, that makes the full picture
that is you. All stitched together making a perfect blend of feelings.

Keep stitching and layering!

Remember

Sometimes we have to be reminded
that we are perfect just the way we are.

Don't forget that it is all the bits about you,
make you.
And that is exactly the way you are supposed to be.

Perfect little afternoon

I finally found my stack of black papers again.
A perfect little afternoon spent with acrylic ink and caramel swirl coffee ♥

Yes. I am easily pleased.

my love my love

Even my littlest child is growing so quickly, tall and vocal
noisy and full of kindness.
I have through living life discovered that none of the circumstances you may find yourself in matter.
These might do when you are looking for land, in the midst of watery circumstances. But in
hindsight, no. None of it does. Only love and family and friends.
People come and go, in one door and out another. Some leave trails on your heart, and you will
remember them forever with a warmth. And then there is those that stamped on your heart, and left
other kind of marks, those that show you that you never want to be anything like them. And I am not.
So I am grateful for all the good people and all the rubbish ones.
And thankful for all the crappy circumstances that have led me to this point in my life,
exactly where I am. Thank you for having been there along the way to here.

Once Upon a Midnight

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
`'Tis some visitor, `tapping at my chamber door -
Only this, and nothing more.'

Home

I am often alone, and rarely lonely.

I am very quiet, and never shut up.
I thrive on stress, but hate feeling pressured.

I am utterly lost, and don't wish to be found.
I am married, but have no ring.
I love the quiet, and fill it with music.

I am compulsively restless, and dream of doing nothing.
I don't like weeds, but wish my garden was a carpet of poppies.
My memory is abysmal, but I can't let go of the past.

I despise shopping, but love going out.
Just so I can get that "coming home" feeling.

Sitting in the Sun

There is always work and things to do.
There is always that 'one more thing' that should have been done
yesterday. And time itself does not stop, at all.
Believe me, I have tried removing the batteries from the clocks.

But, we can fill up our time with things that really matter.
The laundry will still be there. And having teenagers I am used
to the stinky socks.

Hope

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all.

Lazy Summer Days

Oh what will it be like to get up at six in the morning again?  Rushing around and getting five children ready for school. No more open windows. Noisy song birds in the hedge and lizards running up and down the walls of the house.
Oh woe,is me.

All you need is love

It has been over two and a half years. In many ways time has flown by, in other ways it has felt like a crawl. But we are in France for a while now, and finally I have started turning my house into a home. What kept me? I don't know really. But I have felt very lost. Not always in a bad way. Sometimes I feel it has pushed me in ways that nothing else could have done.
But we are here, in our old stone church home, with an ancient grave yard as our neighbours and the mountains and endless trees over looking us.
I can't believe it took me this long to realize that all we need is love. No matter where we are. Home is something that is on the inside, not the outside.
I made this large linen cushion yesterday, to remind myself that I am actually blessed with all the good stuff. You know, the love stuff.

Messages

The littlest messages always seem
to be the nicest.
The most heart felt.

Honestly...

... it is a beautiful day.
The sun has decided to come out, the snow has melted away, and it is the perfect moment to just sit down....

and have a sunny break.....
(a little one)

What are your plans for today?

Mine are laundry, hoovering, dinner, finishing orders, creating two custom orders,
do some illustrations, call home, have lunch, finish birthday gift for Nika, breathe, have coffee and stare at the computer screen...

Happy Monday!

...oh, and my friend Agah has just opened a new shop!
