My friend Sue sent me a package today!  She and her family flew to Paris last December and she had a few 'goodies' she wanted to share with me.

I love theses little thrifted Paris plates and added white, red and black to the place setting.

Sue sent me a few coins and my friend Carter gave me the paper Euro!  I've got money now!!

My vintage red makeup case was perfect to add to this table.  Sue also gave me a little AirFrance pouch with some socks, sleeping mask, toothbrush/paste and this Clarins set so I can get refreshed after my long flight! 

I'll think I'm in First Class!!

This Paris map and guide will come in handy for sure!

  Let's take a look at it while we enjoy our lunch!

The arrow is pointing to where I'll be staying on the Rue Saint Dominique ...not far from the Eiffel Tower and the Seine! 

I'll be on a plane this time next week!  

Lots of lists to check over and packing to do!

The countdown to Paris continues!  

This week is a busy one for me but I need to take some time to thank all of you!

As my Paris dream is about to come true,

so many of you are wishing me a happy trip and sharing in my excitement!

 Some of you have even sent me little gifts! 

Susan and Sherry both found vintage books and took the time to send them to me!

The Heart of France has lovely photos to inspire me!

Let's Travel in France has information about my favorite landmarks!

My friend Donna surprised me with a package of French Inspiration!

She is so talented and made the card, the stamps and the tag! 

One of my favorite gifts has been this vintage hankie sent to me by my friend Deb.

I have had the best time looking at this adorable piece of cloth!

I can just see someone buying this as a souvenir on their trip to Paris in the 50's??

This week I will be taking care of final details.  Packing and preparing for my dream of a lifetime trip to Paris!  Merci Beaucoup mes amis for joining in my excitment!

Shell We ?

Here it is the end of August already! 

Summer has been so busy for me!

Cuisine Kathleen challenged us to do a Summer Fun table.  

That can only mean one thing to me...

The Beach! 

The beach means sand, sun, blue water and of course shells!

I put together my centerpiece using shells I've collected from all my beach trips!  Using bubbled glass cylinders and candles added another element to the table.

I love the colors and texture of these Crate & Barrel plates.  I found these at a thrift shop and have been waiting to use them in a tablescape.

I started with a dark blue place mat to anchor the place setting.  A white charger plate, the dinner plate and salad plate topped with a blue shell glass dish. 

Thrifted flatware in a sea green color pairs well with the dark blue napkin 

and the fish napkin ring

I love these goblets with the blue/green stem

The swirls make me think of waves

Looking at the photos I'm thinking I should have used a white tablecloth on the table first.  I do enjoy the wood of the table, but it makes it a bit dark.

The marble jar filler looks like bubbles to me!

I love the texture of shells....I wish I had time for a beach trip this summer, but this is as close as I'm going to get it seems.

These salt & pepper shakers were a gift! 

Everything on this table was thrifted, gifted or found!

Simply Paris!

Have you noticed the countdown button on the sidebar of my blog??  

Less then 3 weeks until I am in Paris! 

I am all about 'all things Paris' right now.

This is my dining room table...

Simply Paris!

A dollar tree white place mat anchors the place setting.  A simple black plate holds these charming 'Paris' plates from Royal Stafford.

A simple black stemmed wine glass on a thrifted Eiffel Tower coaster.  My wonderful Eiffel Tower salt & pepper shakers from my sweet friend Sarah.

A black napkin with a white napkin ring and white handled flatware completes the place setting.

A few Paris items to set the mood!

  I love my FiFi Flowers print!  

Most of this table was thrifted.  When I found the Paris plates at TJMaxx/HomeGoods, I was so excited.  I had a gift card from my friends D&T and after buying some new shoes (yes, for Paris) I found these adorable plates for a bargain price!

I love the line drawings in black and white!

Just think, it won't be long that I will see these monuments in person!

I hope you will join me in the next few weeks as I enjoy all things Paris during my count down to the trip of a lifetime!

Features from TTF #121

So many great posts this week that I had a hard time choosing just two to feature! 

Sherry @ Back 2 Vintage shared her yard sale finds and these fabulous Blue Ridge plates were my favorite find of the week!

I love the texture on these plates!

Debra @ Frugal Little Bungalow shared how she started most of her vegetables and flowers from seed this year.

That is a big savings I know!  

I'm hoping to take her advice next year and start some flowers from seed!

Deer Oh Dear!

I mentioned when I moved into my new place that there are a lot of deer that come out and feed on the grass and flowers! The other day I caught these photos out my front window!

Tiger was here and we had a good time watching them graze on my front lawn.

I've seen these two young one's around with several older deer every day. 

 I think one must be the Mom!

See how close to my car and the parking area!

They really aren't afraid of us and that can be good and bad

Aren't they the sweetest things! 

Well not as sweet as this little one!

I am really enjoying my Tiger time!
