GAMMACIDE.

PURE FUCKIN' THRASH RIGHT HERE, SON…

712m.p.h. riffs blowing past your earholes all the way from Shitlicker, Texas, these fellas tore it up pretty fucking good back in the day - they even threw in some blast beats!

Blast beats in Thrash? That's what I said…

To these ears, I'd file this away next to some other stellar acts / albums by the likes of Sacred Reich or Dark Angel, and - for some strange reason - I get the same kind of feeling when I listen to "Cause For Alarm" from Agnostic Front.

You results may vary, but there is NO denying the power of the riff(s) on this one.
Truly a classic Thrash Metal album that hasn't gotten the love it should.

ROKY ERICKSON.

For me, it doesn't get much better than when Roky is beltin' it out; his inner demons giving the rest of us a "welcome/warning sign" to climb aboard his alien spacecraft.
This collection chronicles recordings from 1976-1982 w/ his bands The Aliens, as well as with The Explosives. There are also some solo joints on here too.
This is going down well with the heavy rains that have finally hit Northern California today. Enjoy.

A SIDENOTE:

It fucking blows what has happened to so many of my fellow bloggers in the past 2 days - I was lucky enough to not use Megupload - so I am still here. For now. Hopefully this will be the end of the file-hosting crackdowns, and we can get on with it. Hopefully also, those of you who have had your blogs ripped to shreds by the file deletions will hopefully continue onwards. Good luck, comrades.

A.N.S.

Here's some new-school skate rock - I'm presuming they are skate rock as they have toured with JFA and have been featured in Thrasher Magazine - that sounds vintage as fuck.
I don't know much about these guys other than they are from North Texas (mostly), and while they be some young guns, they certainly have some seasoned old-school dirty hardcore chops about them.

There is nothing "cute" or marketable about their brand of gnar-ness - this is a GOOD thing.

Sound-wise they seem to conjure up elements of early strains of The Accüsed, mid-era Fang, a young Poison Idea, all mixed with a bit of Verbal Abuse and a big puddle of "creepy-crawl" Black Flag. How can you go wrong with that?
They only way to fail with that formula is to be an incompetent musician, of which these are NOT.

This most certainly is one of the freshest-sounding hardcore records I've heard in quite some time...

DICKS.

Commie/Faggot/Hardcore - THEIR description, okay? - from San Francisco via Austin TX.
This was their final output, & I believe it was their third lineup.
Regardless of all that, these guys (and gals) ripped, and were unique in their musical approach to the Hardcore genre as well as their stance on life within the scene.

The guitar tone/playing on this record is fucking KILLER, and you should all own this piece of first-generation hardcore history.

M.D.C.

No introduction needed here, just a decent sounding live recording from way-back-in-the-fucking-day, courtesy of one of Hardcore's greatest bands ever!

Their first LP actually scared THE FUCK out of my 14 year-old ears when I first heard it, and it still remains to this day in my collection as one of the most aggressive & intimidating releases I have ever had the pleasure of having my "inner angst" woke-the-fuck-up to...

ANGKOR WAT.

While Corpus Christi, TX may not be known as a hotbed for hardcore or metal bands, it did spawn a truly great thrashcore/crossover/whatever band in the form of Angkor Wat.

Great fucking riffage; all choppy and shit.
Fits perfectly next to that Beyond Possession record.

You should fucking own this.

Angkor Wat - When Obscenity Becomes the Norm... Awake!

Now playing: Watch Me Burn - Infect

CHERUBS.

One of the dirtiest, harshest, ugliest records I own.

There will never be another band that could come close to the racket these guys made, and like all good things, shit like this can't last forever.
They went out at the top of their game and boy do I miss this band...

(Wow, look I made a new D/L button!)

FEARLESS IRANIANS FROM HELL.

Awesome "joke thrash" from San Antonio, and what a rippin' slab it is!

Hard to believe this thing is 20 years old; still dig it as much today as I did the first time I heard it. I actually own test pressings of two of their records. They were given to me by an old friend who was "just gonna throw them out".
The sad (or is it "ironic") thing about this "joke" is how fucked the state of the Iran / U.S. relationship still is. That will never change though I'm pretty sure, but enough of the heavy talk - let's just fucking thrash!

D/L Fearless Iranians from Hell - Holy War right here.

*check back as I'll be posting more stuff from the Boner Records catalog in the near future.*

Now playing: Miltown - Delicate Fiction

WORLD BURNS TO DEATH.

There's not alot of things I like about the Lone Star State, but these hardcore motherfuckers from Austin are definitely one thing I do dig - alot.

You pretty much can't go wrong with any of their releases, and I kind of liken them to something like a more violent-sounding / highly political Poison Idea (War All the Time - era) in the approach to their sound.

More contemporary hardcore should be this good...

Now playing: Doomwatch - Final Hour

RUSTED SHUT.

For 21 years now Rusted Shut has been lurking about Houston, TX.
Every now and then they come out of their dark corner to poke you in the eye with a hot piece of wire, plus they'll toss in a painful wall of skree for your fuckin' ears, dude...

Solid grind from Dallas, TX.
These guys are totally underrated, and if you dig Nasum AND Eyehategod, well then, this is for you...
