RAMMER.

Sorry for the lack of updates - while February is the shortest month of the year, it is also a busy time for me, what with THIS going on as of late. That translates to lots of long bar shifts, lots of late nights, lots of GREAT beer, lots of liver punishment, and raging hangovers.

Speaking of raging, one sorely-missed thrash unit that fucking killed it was Rammer. Like their local T.O. comrades CURSED, they came & went too soon. The good times just weren't meant to last, it seems…

RUNNING FOR COVER.

Such a good band.
The sound of urgency.
Arguably Buffalo, NY's best HC band ever.

Here's a fantastic-sounding set of furious powerviolence done the way that only these dudes could do it.
There's even an interview at the end.

Fuck the clones - so many new-school PV bands could learn a thing or two about how it's done from the way these guys did it...

SLAUGHTER.

Absolutely stellar early-ass primitive brutallic death stylings from our Neighbors to the North.

The true beauty of this band/record is the fact that these guys weren't really emulating anyone else's sound, and I'm pretty sure there wasn't much of a Brutal Death scene up there when they were cranking this madness out. Unique tones, insane vocalage, riffs that must be fun as hell to play, etc.

I gotta say this fits good between your Master / Kreator records, without sounding like either of those two - just real good company, yo.

NEGATIVE GAIN.

Early eighties hardcore skate-thrashers from Toronto who had chops beyond their (mid-teens when they recorded this!) years - not unlike their 'Nucker bretheren Beyond Possession, but a bit more 'core than metal.

You know they were good, 'cuz this came out on the Pusmort label...

RAMMER.

Blisteringly fucking raging maniacly bad-ass speedy death-thrash from the Great White North, I present to you RAMMER!
Hard to fucking beat, and there's nothing "ironic" or "revival" about the thrash racket these guys make...

ACRID.

Leaving off where Cursed left us, may I present to you more harsh-toned hardcore bleakness from the Great White North in the form of the highly unsung Acrid.

The members of this band also were in some other amazing fucking bands either before they did Acrid as well as after - Cursed being one, Left For Dead, Chokehold, The Swarm & Grade being some others worth mentioning.
Enjoy...

CURSED.

Let me start this off by saying that if you don't loooove Cursed, you have no business being here...

These guys know the art of melding low-end heavy with chaotic hardcore in a way that they sound like no one else - what the hell goes on up there in T.O. that spawns such consistently good hardcore? Fuck...

Make sure you buy this when it drops; surely you will not be disappointed!

CURSED.

Can't tell you how much this band has reaffirmed to me that hardcore is actually not dead (or in the mall) but alive and well in Toronto, Ontario. There's some good (contmeporary) hardcore bands out there, and then there's CURSED...

( I tossed in a bonus track that I downloaded off the Cursed website years ago)...
