I'm 2 today!

I'm a 2 year old manly mancat! These are my official two year old pictures. Momma hopes I will calm down now. Ha ha. She now thinks my party theme should have been Where the Wild Things Are instead of Alice, but we like Alice. The Mad Hatter cake is for the Beans. Sorry ladies, no Johnny Depp. :(
But, the cake is chocolate! the Cheshire Cat cake is a tuna cake with cream frosting infused with nip.
I have little nip mousies with extra nip to play with and Momma says we can trash the house, because it's well on it's way to being a big mess anyway.
Later she will make salmon for dinner.
So, party on kitties! Thank you for being my friends!

Momma Lorianna: I will try to make time to do some visiting today. I could not get a moment's peace yesterday! Aren't those cakes cool? I wish I could make cakes like that. I can bake cakes fairly well, but decorating is not my strong point.

Eatin' o the Green!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Toeshee is eating his cat grass in celebration.
It is sunny and in the 60's today! So nice.
Tomorrow is "Mr. T's" birthday and I hope to post a little party for him.

Toeshee: I will be 2 years old! A mancatly Mancat! I even have a girl friend. Her name is Jelly Bean. I don't think she is a cougar though. I think she is Siamese, or Burmese, or something exotic like that. She is so beautiful and floofy! (Blush...)

My party is going to have an Alice in Wonderland theme. Chesire cat and Mad Hatter. Momma found the cakes online. She wishes she could really make cakes like that.

Catch Up With Billie

Fun Party to break up the cloudy days.

Hi everyone, Miss Billie here to post a bit of catching up. First, Happy Birthday to my dear friend Sweet Praline! She is 14 today. I'm 14 too, so we have lots to talk about; fussy tummies, creaky joints, and cranky moods. Momma says join the club! :)
It has been quite dreary here lately. Just very cloudy and cool. Lots of sneezing and stuffy noses from allergies for Momma and the Teenagergirl.
Us kitties have been napping a lot. Cricket and Toeshee have been battling over the coveted living room window. Whenever he challenges her it turns into quite the standoff. He thinks he has her cornered under the old rocking chair, but Cricket is very fast! With a hiss and a thwap she shows Toeshee who is boss.
I am not a tough girl like her, but Toeshee doesn't usually bother me. I guess I'm not a challenge like Cricket, which is fine with me!

Momma still has the sads. She can't seem to work through them this month. Us kitties keep her company and she loves us all very much. We are glad that she needs us as much as we need her.

We hope you are all having a good month so far and we will try to be better about blogging.

Billie is 14!

I am now 14!

Hi everyone! It's just me Billie catching some morning rays in the kitchen. Whenever it's sunny, that is where you'll find me in the mornings.
Momma says I remind her of Maddie Hayes from that old Moonlighting show because of the soft glowing light around me. That is how they always filmed the actress that played Maddie.
She used to love that show when it first came on. She didn't like the way it ended and thought they did a disservice to the characters. Now, she feels old thinking about it!
I am not old. I turned 14 this weekend just like Handsome Adan and Handsome Mickey. We are all nice, well mannered cats. We are the reflective Moon children of the Zodiac. :)
Momma is bummed because her blood work shows that the RA monster is getting more aggressive. The doctor thinks it's because of stress. Her root canal and other stuff... She must stay on her shots that make her tummy upset. She was walking like a little old lady all weekend.
Us kitties were nice and didn't laugh though. It's important to be patient with the one that feeds you. (even if it did take forever for her to open a can of tuna for me for my Birthday treat.)
We are still waiting for summer like weather. It feels more like May than July.
Can someone from the South send us some heat please? :)

Cakes and Kitties and Nip= Tired

Busy weekend.

Toeshee is worn out. He played with a cat dancer and toy mice dipped in really potent nip today. They were pressies from his friends JB and Chester. I think Toeshee might have a crush on JB! ;) Cody thought Praline was pretty, but I told him to get in line because she has lots of suitors. I think it's cute that kitties are matched up in the cat blogosphere. We should all have some silly fun sometimes.

Yesterday we went to see the new Star Trek movie for my husband's birthday. It was a pretty good movie. The Imax theatre was a bit loud, but the big screen was cool.
My daughter got a really, really nice bike. She will use it to go to the community college which is a few blocks away and probably ride it to the nearby library and coffee shop. It's nice to have everything so close.
I'm happy to report that the cake I made turned out nicely. It's just an old fashioned chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. Very good with Earl Grey Tea.

Now, the cute tuxie kitty! We can't figure out if the kitty is a boy or girl. It would be rude to grab and lift the tail and I didn't want to scare the kitty away. I haven't seen my new friend since I took the pictures on Friday. The food I set out is being eaten, but I'm worried. I have been able to pet the kitty and he, or she tips and rolls for me when I say hello. It's hard to not get attached. But, I can't have another kitty. If he or she comes around again, we may just put up a few found signs and hope the nearby no "you know what" shelter isn't full. Sadly, in this economy many people give their pets up and many shelters are full. Maybe the tuxie has a home and just goes out to play. She or he wasn't super skinny. I guess I'll find out at some point. I just hope my new friend is okay.

I will be hopping around to visit blogs as much as I can this week.

Billie In The Window

Quiet Afternoons.

Hi everyone! Billie here, to say, I finally got the window! I was very excited so Momma took my picture. Usually the other kitties get in it and I am the last to have a chance. So, while I'm waiting I fall asleep. I like to sleep on momma's lap when she's on her laptop. She puts it on the sofa and sits on the floor so I can rest on her legs. If she looks uncomfortable it's because her legs fell asleep and her feet were tingly. She hates to wake me, but when she just can't stand the leg asleep thing anymore, she asks me if I want Fancy Feast. I know those words by the way!

She will be very busy this weekend baking a birthday cake for the Daddyman and the Teenagergirl. They have the same birthday on May 10. Momma spent her birthday quietly on Wednesday with us in the afternoon. The Daddyman took her out to breakfast for her birthday and gave her a bookstore card and pretty papers for her crafting. She does not like to celebrate her birthday much.

We had visitors in our yard last night. Momma is going to try to take pictures of them, but they are very shy. There was a tuxie kitty that was pretty friendly and a little black cat who acted like he never knew the kindness of a loving hand. Momma left food out for them. We get a little jealous, but as long as they don't come in I guess it's okay.

Toeshee Is One Today!

Happy 1st Birthday Toeshee!

He was just a little kitten when he came to us last summer. Now he is an official Big Kitty! Still wild, still naughty, still adorable.
Please help yourselves to some buttercream cake and take a party hat!
We will be popping in later to set out more treats and hopefully some candid birthday boy pictures.

Glamor Girl Monday

Glamor Girls

My girls Billie and Cricket are so pretty! Billie is content to curl up and nap. Cricket, when she's not napping is often found looking out the windows. She is looking forward to spring.
The other night both girls were on alert when a stray kitty came up on the front porch and peeked in the window. It was a tabby cat with a white chest like Toeshee, but his/ her fur was shorter. The kitty ran to our garage and in through a little "cat door" that a raccoon so nicely made a couple of winters
ago. I took some food out and slid it into the garage for the poor kitty. I haven't seen her/him since, but Billie and Cricket will let me know if our visitor returns.
We hope everyone has a great week! Toeshee's Birthday is Wednesday and he will be having a party. So please drop by for Fancy Feast, Party Mix, Nip Sweet Tea and cake with Vanilla Cream frosting. :)

Fun For Toeshee

Fun for Toeshee

We received a very nice surprise yesterday. Dante, Yaffa and Sebastian and their Mommy Mimi sent Toeshee a fun filled package for his Birthday which is next week. He will be a year old!
Dante and Toeshee are both very very naughty kitty boys. Toeshee's naughtiness is back in full force after a brief try at being sweet. I guess he's decided that being bad is more fun. (I wonder if I have Cricket to thank for that.)
I think the green ribbon looks quite fetching on Toeshee. It will be great for St. Patrick's Day which is the day before his B-Day. I should have taken a picture of the pretty package. It was wrapped so nicely. The kitties smelled the Nip right away! They all agree, Brooklyn Nip is Primo! :)
Yesterday, I finally felt well enough to get out of my pajamas. I have been just taking hot showers and putting my thick fleece pj's back on. So, I put on some jeans and a sweat shirt and tried to catch up on some housework. By late afternoon my throat started to hurt and I had a sinus headache.
Yup, this morning I woke up with a very sore throat and swollen glands. The medicine I'm on is shutting my immune system down so it stops attacking my joints, so now I can catch every virus that's lurking around. This one came from my daughter. Everyone at her school is sick!
Oh well, at least I'm coming out of the nasty flare that had me crawling into bed all week. I sure hope this throat/sinus thing doesn't send me back! Cricket sure likes to have me to nap with though. :)
I am looking forward to free time to visit everyone. After I work my way through the dishes I can see my way clear to being almost caught up.
Next time I will have to tell you about Cody's adventure and the poor little mouse that met an unfortunate end. I know cats will be cats, but if I had known what was going on I would have intervened and helped the poor thing get away. :(

Quiet Time

Quiet time is the best time.

Window gazing, naps, tummy snorgling... (I'm not sure what is up with Toeshee and Billie. They seem to like cuddling together once in a while.)

There's not much going on lately and to me that's a good thing. The weather has been calm and almost Springlike. The cats seem to be feeling well and they and I have the house to ourselves during the day.
My hands are quite sore and I have been using Icy/Hot patches on them. I think I will have to use a soft brace just to keep my left hand stable so the joints can rest. I have had hand pain before, but this is really really uncomfortable. Especially in the large knuckles. I will try to blog and visit as much as I can though. Hopefully this flare up will be on it's way soon. I really need my hands!

I want to wish Daisy The Curly Cat Happy Birthday! She's an Aquarius. :) They are know for being adventurous and curious and a little eccentric. Purrfect qualities for a cat!
