In the background there is a lake,
and beyond that, some low hills.
and beyond that, some low hills.
(The photograph was taken
the day after I drowned.
I am in the lake, in the center
of the picture, just under the surface.
It is difficult to say where
precisely, or to say
how large or small I am:
the effect of water
on light is a distortion
but if you look long enough,
eventually
you will be able to see me.)
- Margaret Atwood, This Is a Photograph of Me
A friend and I spent Saturday morning at the edge of a lake, sloshing around with a Lady, and a lot of tiny fish (and some hungry ducks). Here are some of our photos...
(pics 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 11 were taken by me.)

I love these photos.
Hands down your best photoshoot.
Wow.
She really seems to be floating, with her hair swaying gently in the waves.
Beautiful and yet terrifyingly eerie.
I hope you took her back with you. Otherwise, someone might have a heart attack while swimming.
You've done it again, another awesome photo shoot.
Thank you!🙏
It was such a fun time. I really appreciate the kind words. She is safely back in my garage drying out! I still can’t get over how she looks in the photos.
Thank you so much, sir!
Whoa - very cool photo shoot. It is hard to choose but I think my favorite is the 4th one.
Thanks! 🙏
Tremendous shots!
With my luck, that would have been when someone from Fish & Game would have rolled up with a host of questions.
(I don't know that I ever expected to see a 'duck' tag for the blog)
Haha thanks so much, sir!!
I really appreciate you making these tangible things and photographing them in the real world. Always an inspiration. While they are all great, my favorite composition showing the hills and the ripples on the lake is number 5. It could be a movie poster…or the background for the poem.
Thank you so so much for that!
She is exquisite! The photos are equally so. What a wonderful medium this underwater world offers!
Definitely made me want to build another Jenny Greenteeth! Thanks!
You should make this corpse over a remote-control submarine and send it toward people. have it follow their boats around. (Don't listen to me, I will get you in trouble)
Haha
How fun! I would be remis if I didn't make a refence to a watery tart.
🤣 perfect
These photographs are so dreamlike! Both beautiful and horrifying. Your prop is so hauntingly realistic, and the water created such a surreal effect. AMAZING shoot!!!!
Thanks, KO! 🙏🙏🙏🎃
