Carnival of Chaos

While I start working on my new warbands, here is what I will use for the play testing for the new website at  http://www.mordheimrevivalproject.com/ .

I had originally called it "Uncle Tom's Circus"

WTF!?! Pikachu? Well…no, but certainly its Ok if the Biggest of them all chooses his own name isn’t it? Life is once again more or less back to nErmal, with the reports done and submitted. Now it’s back to a normal life of painting and…comparing models?

Yes, the other day as I was going through some paper-work, I looked up and there were my three giants and I couldn’t help but compare the size and details of all of them. Personally I love the size of the large one in the back, the detail of the old metal fella and the…ummm, what do I like about the newer one? Well, it is mostly painted. It has more options, but let’s face it, he’s not all that and a cup of tea. Mmmmm Tea…. Anyway… anyone else need a tea and cookies?

If Pikachu stands up straight hed really be scary!!

Last but not least, here is the Collette model for the warband I am painting up. She still needs some cleaning up. I always dread the camera/picture completion check. Mistakes always show up on a picture.

A Life? whats that?

I am still about a week away from work settling down. Its always hard not being able to paint and make models when you are in a groove. Work comes first though, gotta have the money to buy the toys! Speaking of toys, I have always enjoyed the Mordheim system for Games Workshop. When I first started I took a war-band a) no one else was playing and b) was chaos like in nature...I was big into my chaos army at the time. The main idea behind this warband as i painted it, was to be bright and bold, while showing the dirty rot so common to Nurgle. Uncle Tom, my leader, has a fantastic stomach and eyes that seem to follow you around. I also love the big fella's and their pants. Midge is a duplicate of Moe, with the top peak of her jesters hat cut off and some green stuff on her chest.
So while I may not have time to paint right now, I did find a few minutes to take some pictures. I hope everyone enjoys my Nurgle war-band, otherwise known as "Uncle Tom's Carnival".

Warshrine and Malifaux

Small update from tonights efforts.
The Warshrine is coming along and I have a bit more work done on the Malifaux warband I am painting for someone. The two greenies have highlights left to do, and the red puppet has had her metals highlighted.

The warshrine has had the under-carridge worked on, with wheels attached. The top of the shrine has had pools of slime and gunk added. I think they will add the three dimensional look I want to the pools of gribbly gunk. Good call Kuffeh! I also intend on adding a nurgling on the top and probably a few of them on the base, so there is no mistake who this shrine is dedicated too.

Scratch building a Chaos War Shirine

As the title implies, I have had my eye on a chaos war shrine for a long time. Those that have looked back at much earlier posts will see that the "chaos is strong with this one!" Don't get me wrong, I am not going to stop my Skaven,

A knight and his dogs

I have gone back to the previous knight and completed the horses horns and the base. (still need to clean the edges on both dogs and knight) The dogs were the second unit I worked on after choosing the flesh scheme that includes the GW Leviathan Purple wash. It really ties all the units together.

I am considering washing all the bone bits with the yellow wash though. They almost look too clean.

I think the jumping puppy at the edge here is my favorite of the lot. I love how his skin came out and the wound on the back leg.

p.s. I have since posting the pictures cleaned up the bases and gotten the sides painted to a crisp uniform black. I wonder if I should consider painting the sides brown? I have seen alot of people going to that color lately.
